Please get in touch the week of the 12th if you need an appointment or a medication refill. If you have a small animal emergency I recommend contacting PVSEC, MedVet, or AVets.

I wanted to make all of my clients aware of a two week closure for the clinic that will be coming up June 2nd-14th. I will be away during that time without the work phone. Please plan accordingly as far as appointments and any necessary medication refills for your pets.
If you need to schedule an appointment or discuss a refill please text the office.

With warm weather already knocking at the door, I also wanted to give everyone some tips on keeping your pets safe during those extremely hot days of summer (and spring and fall). Visit the attached link for a helpful handout with lots of great tips!

Hello. I hope you are all enjoying the much needed sunshine today. As everyone knows, we will be able to view the solar eclipse tomorrow 4/8/2024. If you are planning on taking some time out of your day to view it, please be sure to have proper eye-wear. We all need to take proper precautions to safely enjoy this event; including our pets. Below is a link to the OSU College of Veterinary Medicine's page with some tips for pet owners during the eclipse.

Hello everyone. I know many of you have heard that there is a veterinary office opening in Cowansville. This is true. I also know many of you have heard it is me opening said clinic. This is false. I am not opening a brick and mortar clinic. I love the mobile nature of my practice, and you will not be finding me inside an office anytime soon.

Days the Clinic will be in closed October and November: Oct 9th, Oct 18th-22nd, and Nov 23rd-28th. Please plan accordingly, and if you have a small animal emergency you can contact Butler Veterinary Associates, PVSEC (Camphorn Road), or AVets (Monroeville).
This is also another reminder that I am unable to see emergencies and same day appointments. If I happen to be in your area the day your pet needs seen, I may be able to accommodate a same day appointment; however, if I feel urgent diagnostics are needed, I will still recommend an emergency veterinary visit.
I am one person and can only accomplish so much in a day while being fair to those who have scheduled appointments for their pet. Often people make special arrangements to be home at the time of their pet's appointment, so it is important that I try to keep as close to the schedule as possible.

Hello everyone. I just want to let you all know that we will be closed Monday in observation of the Labor Day holiday. I hope you all get to enjoy the nice weather with your families.

Hi everyone! I hope you are all having a fantastic summer. I wanted to make everyone aware that the office will be closed this Monday, July 24th. Things will return to business as usual on Tuesday the 25th.
The office will be closed again August 16th-20th, as I will be attending a continuing education conference. I look forward to learning and keeping up with new trends in veterinary medicine, so that I can best serve my clients and patients.
As always, should an emergency arise with your pet during the time the office is closed, or at any time, I recommend contacting Butler Veterinary Services, Pittsburgh Veterinary Specialty and Emergency Clinic, or AVets.
Just another reminder that our regular business hours are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday 7am-2pm.

Don't forget to take care of your pets during these hot days. When they are outside, make sure they have access to shade and cold water. Walk them in the morning or evening when it is cooler. And take a page from Trixie's book and always take lots of breaks indoors.

THANK YOU TO ALL WHO TOOK THE TIME TO PROVIDE YOUR INPUT!!!

Hello everyone, I hope you are staying safe and warm in this winter weather. As most of you know, veterinarians need to take continuing education to maintain our veterinary licenses with the state. I have been going back and forth as to whether I would like to get certified in veterinary acupuncture or chiropractics for my next CE. Since I will be using this training to better serve my clients and their pets, who better to ask as to what they would like to see me offer? If I were able to offer your pets either acupuncture or chiropractic care in the comfort of their own home, which would you prefer and most likely utilize?
Some benefits of acupuncture:
*Increased nervous system activity, blood flow, and immune response
*Muscle relaxation and relief of spasms
*Release of pain-blocking and “feel-good” chemicals in the body
*Can be used in the treatment of many different illnesses/injuries
Some benefits of chiropractic care:
*Drug-free pain relief
*A non-invasive treatment
*Faster recovery from injury
*Improved mobility
*Personalized treatment
I would be offering whichever service I become certified in to both dogs and horses.
Please COMMENT BELOW with which service you would like to see offered in the future.

Just taking a quick minute to reiterate that I will not be listening to nor returning voicemails. When you call the clinic this is clearly stated on the message; however, it seems that many people aren't listening to that, so I wanted to get it out there on another platform.
This decision was made because I return all messages personally, and inorder to keep up with everything texting is much easier and more efficient. I am sorry if it causes an inconvenience for anyone, but it has allowed me to see more pets during the work day. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. Everyone stay safe while traveling during the next few days!

This is the farm where I worked during undergrad and vet school. They introduced me to the world of horses and gave me my extreme bias for Standardbreds (yes, I said it!). If you have a passion for horses, or just want to see some cute foals, give their page a like and follow.
P.S.-- For those of you have heard me talk about Mac over the years, these are the amazing people who let me officially call him mine.

We missed you! Due to some unauthorized activity on our page, we were disabled! We lost all of our contacts, photos and followers. Please help us grow even bigger and better than before by liking, sharing and getting the word out about our farm!! We look forward to seeing you all again!

Hello everyone. I am a couple weeks early but wanted to post the holiday schedule. The office will be closed Friday, December 23rd through Monday, January 2nd. During this time I will not be answering any messages. As always you are welcome to leave a text, and I will reply when the office reopens. If your pet would have an emergency during the time we are closed, please contact Butler Veterinary Associates, Pittsburgh Veterinary Specialty and Emergency Clinic, or AVets.

Here are some tips for keeping your pet safe during the holiday season:
1. Keep people food out of the reach of your pet, and ask your guests to do the same.

2. Make sure your pet doesn't have any access to treats, especially those containing chocolate, xylitol, grapes/raisins, onions or other toxic foods.

3. Don't leave your pet alone in the room with lit candles, a decorated tree or, potpourri.

4. Keep holiday plants (especially holly, mistletoe, and lilies) out of reach of pets.

5. Consider leaving the tinsel off your tree if you have a cat.

6. Secure your Christmas tree to keep it from falling over if your dog bumps it or your cat climbs it. Hanging lemon-scented car air fresheners in the tree may deter your cat from climbing it.

7. Provide a safe place for your pet to escape the excitement (such as a kennel, crate, perching place, scratching post shelf or hiding place) when you’re entertaining guests. If your pet is excitable or scared, consider putting your pet in another room with some toys and a comfortable bed.

If you would like to let your pet join in on the holiday meal, some safe foods to give are carrot sticks, green beans, and apple slices.

I hope you all have a safe, healthy, and happy Holiday Season!!

I hope everyone has a Happy Thanksgiving this Thursday!! The office will be closed Wednesday, November 23rd-Monday, November 28th. Hello everyone. I hope you've had some time to enjoy this beautiful weather we've been having. I just wanted to take a moment to remind everyone that business hours are Monday-Thursday 10am-2pm. If you leave a text message during those hours I will get back to you the same business day. If you leave a message after business hours, I will not be returning the message until the following business day. The clinic phone is off after business hours. Feel free to leave a message at any time, just be aware that you will only get a response during business hours.
I'd also like to remind everyone that I can rarely see same day sick appointments. I am scheduled a few weeks out and am only in certain areas of the territory certain days of the week. I do leave some available slots to add sick appointments in at the last minute; however, these often get filled quickly. This is why it is very important that if you think your pet is not him/herself, to get in contact to schedule an appointment sooner rather than later.
And as always, if your pet has an emergent issue that cannot wait there are Emergency clinics available. Butler Veterinary Associates, PVSEC, AVets, and Rainbow Animal Hospital are a few of the clinics in our area that see emergencies.
Thank you and have a great day!!!

With the temperature starting to cool, it is time to think about ways to help your arthritic pets better handle the effects the weather has on their joints. Cold laser therapy can be a great way to help your pets feel more comfortable and avoid the impact increasing medications has on their liver and kidneys. You may have some questions about how laser therapy works, and how it can be beneficial for your pet.
Laser therapy helps tissue repair by causing the following:
*Endorphin release
*Vasodilation, which increases blood flow to bring in oxygen and
cells involved in the healing process
*Muscle relaxation
*Decreased inflammation
*Faster healing and repair

The main clinical benefits of laser use in pets include decreased inflammation, decreased pain, and improved wound healing.

Laser therapy is used for many veterinary medical conditions, including:
*Chronic arthritis
*Surgical incisions
*Tendon and ligament injuries
*Traumatic injuries

Laser therapy is particularly useful for pets with limited medical treatment options, such as:
*Pets with liver disease who cannot take medications
*Cats, for whom only a few pain-control medications are approved
*Older pets with diminished organ function

If you'd like to try cold laser therapy for your pet or have any additional questions, please text us today at 724-859-3265.

NOVEMBER AND DECEMBER we will be running a SPECIAL on 6 packs of laser therapy. Buy a package up front and take advantage of these amazing benefits for your pet!

Hello everyone! I hope you are enjoying the nice summer weather we've been having. This is just a reminder that our business hours are Monday-Thursday 10am-2pm. These hours can be found on the page, website, on our voicemail message, and in the auto-reply text. The phone is turned off and **no messages will be answered** after hours or on days we are not open. A few options for emergency vets are Butler veterinary associates, Rainbow vet, AVets, and PVSEC.

Hello everyone! I wanted to bring to your attention a very serious issue that has increasingly been effecting dogs. As some of you may know, the artificial sweetener Xylitol is extremely toxic to dogs. After ingestion, adverse reactions can begin in as quickly as 20 minutes. Some of the side effects include: shaking/seizures, vomiting, weakness, trouble walking/standing, and most severely coma, liver failure, bleeding problems. All of these things can quickly progress to death. If you suspect your pet may have ingested a product containing xylitol, get him/her to an emergency veterinarian immediately.
The tricky thing with Xylitol, is that it is not always listed as such on ingredient labels. Some other names you may see for xylitol are: wood sugar, birch sugar, and birch wood extract. Xylitol, under its many names, can be found in products such as: sugar free gum/candy/mints, some peanut butter and jelly brands, cough syrups and other over the counter medications, and many more. It is always important to check the ingredients list of any new food or OTC product you intend to give your dog. And if you have any questions as to whether the product is safe, please contact your veterinarian for more information.

House-keeping: Please note the clinic will be closed the week of July 4th. If you have a non-urgent matter, feel free to leave a text message, and we will get back to you when we return. If you have a small animal emergency, Butler Veterinary Associates, PVSEC, and Avets are available for your pets urgent needs.

Cold weather got you down? It may also be effecting your dog, cat, or horse. Cold and damp weather can cause chronic joint pain such as arthritis or old injuries to hurt worse. A great way to help combat the pain and inflammation associated with these conditions is cold-laser therapy. It is safe, effective, and can positively impact your pets quality of life. The laser can also be helpful in healing wounds, treating ear infections, helping to relieve pain associated with dental disease, and a myriad of other conditions.
To help make your pet feel more comfortable during these frigid winter days, we are offering a special on laser therapy sessions. For a package of 6 treatments you will SAVE $150!!! Special runs through March.
If you'd like more information about cold-laser therapy and how it can help your pet, please text us today.

Hello and Happy New Year!! We are writing this post to let everyone know that we won't be scheduling any appointments for the next two weeks. The doctor will see the appointments she already has scheduled and will be answering text messages. Dr. Sypulski needs to take this time to fully recover from an injury, so that she can be in good health to continue to bring quality veterinary care to your door. We hope to be back to a full schedule the week of January 17th. We apologize for any inconvenience. Thank you all for your understanding!

19/12/2021

Hello everyone! We want to take some time to discuss adding a pet to the family for the holidays. If anyone is considering getting a pet as a holiday present this year, please take the time to give this decision the thought and research it deserves. It is easy to make a snap decision. Who wouldn't love getting a cute, cuddly puppy or kitten under the Christmas tree? However, before making that choice for your family, it is important to remember that puppies and kittens grow into cats and dogs. They are living beings, who require food, water, shelter, training, attention, and lots of love; not just for the holiday season, but for the rest of their lives. Pets are a long-term commitment. Please make sure you are ready to take that on and know about the breed you are getting. If you want to know if a particular breed is the right fit for your family, the AKC website is a great resource for information, and we are always here happy to answer any questions.

As Christmas is approaching, we wanted to make everyone aware of the holiday schedule. We will be closed Wednesday, December 22nd through Monday, December 27th. If you have any non-urgent needs during that time, feel free to leave a text message on the clinic phone, and we will get back to you on the 28th. For any small animal emergencies, as always, we recommend contacting Butler Veterinary Associates or PVSEC.

We wish you all a Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, and a safe, healthy, and Happy New Year!!

25/11/2021

Happy Thanksgiving from our family to yours! We hope you all have a happy, healthy, and safe holiday. Please remember, that while it is tempting to share the delicious holiday food with your pets, it is not what is best for their health. If you want to give your pets a little holiday treat some carrot sticks, fresh green beans, or apple slices are a great choice. And please be sure to keep the garbage can sealed, as turkey scraps and potato peels from the garbage are equally as enticing to our furry friends as what comes from our table. Ingestion of fatty, rich foods can cause pancreatitis, foreign bodies, vomiting, and diarrhea.
Just as we all need to take the necessary precautions to keep our families safe from illness this holiday season, we also want to take the same precautions for our pets' healthy and safety.
As a reminder: If you have an emergency with your pet over the holiday we recommend contacting Butler Veterinary Associates or the Pittsburgh Veterinary and Specialty Clinic.
We hope you can all get to enjoy a fantastic meal and find a nice place for a nap just like Charlie.

We, at Sypulski Mobile Veterinary Services, would like to take a moment to thank all of our veterans both past and present. Your service to and sacrifices for our country are greatly appreciated.
We will be closed today in observation of the holiday and will be back to business Monday.

Happy Halloween!! We hope everyone enjoys some sweet treats today, but please do not play any tricks and share with your pets. Chocolate can be very toxic to dogs. If your pets decide to help themselves to your candy, contact your vet immediately or call pet poison control for further instructions.

We want to take the time to let everyone know of some changes to our schedule. To better accommodate our clients with scheduling conflicts, we will be seeing appointments 3-7pm on Wednesdays. We ask that if you are able to schedule during regular business hours please do so; as we would like to leave the evening appointments available for clients who are unable to have their pet seen at any other time.

As a reminder we are still seeing appointments outside only, and everyone present must wear a mask.

Thank you for your continued support! We appreciate all of our wonderful clients and patients.

Hello there, hope everyone is enjoying this unseasonably warm weather. We wanted to inform you all that the office will be closed starting Friday, October 15th and will reopen Tuesday, October 26th. We will not be answering messages during this time; they will be returned in the order in which they were received once we are back in the office.
If you have a small animal emergency we recommend contacting PVSEC on Camphorn Road, Butler Veterinary Associates on Route 8 in Butler, or AVETS in Monroeville.

Hello, this is just a reminder that we will no longer be answering messages sent to the page. We have been continuing to do so as a courtesy; however, it is simply too much for Dr. Sypulski to keep up with Facebook messages, texts, calls, and emails by herself. If you want to contact us we ask that you please text the clinic phone. Thank you.

Hello everyone. We are pleased to announce that we have added Laser Therapy to our services. Cold laser therapy has many applications and benefits in veterinary medicine. It uses specific wavelengths and strengths of light and lasers to enhance circulation to tissues and inhibit certain neurotransmitters that increase pain and inflammation. The laser can be used to combat inflammation associated with tendon, muscle, or ligament injury, as well as being used to help control pain due to osteoarthritis. We can also use the laser to speed wound and soft tissue healing. If you would like to learn more about laser therapy or think it could benefit your pet, please contact us today!

31/07/2021

Hello everyone, I hope you are enjoying this gorgeous Saturday!!! Due to a recent unfortunate incident, I feel the need to write this message to my clients old and new. I have come to know many of you well over these few years and adore you and your pets as if you are my own family. Recently, we had a client become hostile and verbally abusive when her messages and calls were not returned on a Friday. As many of you are aware, as it is stated in the voicemail and on the page, we changed our hours about a year ago to Monday-Thursday 10am-2pm. This change was made due to the fact that I have cancer. After very difficult treatments and continued daily medications, I struggle with very harsh side effects and need the extra time for my body to recuperate. This frustrates me more than anyone. This post is not to get sympathy but to hopefully bring some understanding to why the schedule is set up as such.
I apologize if these hours are inconvenient, and do not suite the needs of you and your pet; however, they are clearly defined several places, and are what I need for me to be safe and as healthy as I can. If you feel that you would prefer a clinic that has more available hours during the week, please let us know and we will get your pet's records sent to the clinic of your choosing.
I want to make clear how eternally grateful I am to my amazing clients for their support and understanding, and for entrusting me with the care of your pets.
I would like to to also give a little PSA, as many people are simply not aware. The su***de rate among veterinarians is extremely high and sadly increasing by the day (not an exaggeration). A lot of it is due to incidence like the one I recently had. We work very hard and love our jobs and patients. Treating your pet is personal to us. We strive to provide the best care possible. And to be verbally berated over and over again for not doing enough, not being better, not working for free, or not being available 24/7 is simply not fair. And quite frankly is killing the good people of this profession.
I will just simply not work with anyone who can't show mutual respect; however, most veterinarians work for other people and don't have a choice but to suffer silently. Please remember veterinarians are people. We have personal lives and struggles just like everyone else. You never know what someone is dealing with, so please be kind.
I will always do my best to try and accommodate everyone's needs; however, I am just one person. So please remember there are emergency clinics available. We also have a working relationship with Muddy Creek Animal Clinic for day-time sick appointments or specific diagnostics we are unable to provide.
Thank you all again! I am lucky to have so many amazing clients and patients!
