Woods Equine Sharon and Hailey Woods come from and compete against a long line of prestigous riders that intertwine through barrel racing, rodeo, and gymkana events.

Between the two, they have competed in BRN4D, WPRA, NPRA, AW4D, Necessity Invitational Challenge of Champions, NW5D, W.H.O., OBRA, OHSET, 4H and ProRodeo. Both have trained numerous horses that have competed and won. Huga's Loaded Gun is Sharon's current barrel horse, that was patterned by Hailey, finished by Sharon, and is now on her way up to the winner's circle. Sharon has trained many horses

and has perfected her style to match that of the athletic equine. Ima Doc Bar Pepper is Hailey's barrel horse, he himself has competed with the best of them on the Pro Circuit. Pepper has many awards, title's, and money earned sitting behind his name. Glenn Woods is the husband and father to this dynamic dou, his massage techniques help balance the horse and help both equine and human meet their highest potiential. As much as I wanted “Jack” to be my horse…

I love Jack to pieces. He’s the most amazing resilient smoothest kindest athlete I have ever had the pleasure of owning! Jack’s super sweet loving friendly personality is mesmerizing to everyone he meets. We have worked through major anxiety at the line and in the pattern and now he is ready for some fun💖

God answered my prayers with a “no Sharon…Jack is not yours” and dropped Rachel into my life.

Rachel and Jack are a match made in Heaven. I’m ecstatic for Jack; he has his person! I can’t wait to watch these two succeed; whether on the trail or in the arena!

I’ve been following the EHV/EHM outbreak since it started, in Texas.

I have went to local races (in prior years) when outbreaks were a state away. I had peace about that decision. There is something telling me to stay home this time and I have peace about this decision, as well.

For me; it’s just not worth the risk no matter how low the risk is. If I shut down, it is a chance of two less confirmed and maybe this virus will die.

Do your research, pray for wisdom and make your decision. No judgement here whether you travel or you don’t.

Enrique Seasoning Episode:
We did it … mission accomplish!!! We communicated and nailed our first!!!! Then “I” forgot to ride like a competitor and get up and ride (like forget to switch my hand in time-senior moment). So proud of Enrique; he did the best with his jockey’s errors!!! 🤦🏼‍♀️

Seasoning … now I need to put my game face on and ride like a competitor 😉

Enrique seasoning episode #1000 😂

What a roller coaster ride…

I Prayed for guidance,, followed my intuition and changed up a couple things. I attempted to ride him the way he has been trying to tell me.

I’ve never have rode a style like his. In 63 years of a different horse styles; it is not easy to change.

I concentrated really hard on Barrel one… And we were a team tonight!

Good or bad… His precious face and kind heart overrule the bad rins! On s bad tun, back at the trailer. I tell him “boy dude we have some communication gaps“! And then I give him a handful of treats!🤷🏼‍♀️ Tonight, I told him, “we did it“! 

He PR at Marriott’s tonight…by .23 hundred… Winning second in the 1D!

I couldn’t be more proud… placing 1D at a local race for the second time in 10 months of in his competition career!

Jesus took the wheel…

A recent vibration in my steering wheel sent me to the tire shop to make sure there’s nothing wrong. They told me I needed $1500 of front end work in the near future and balanced my front tires. They told me I would be safe to go.

I got 15 miles down the road (heading to a barrel racing practice) and my gut intuition said turn around and go home.

Eight miles from home; we heard a clunk, whiny sound, scratchy scarpey sound and then it felt like we hit the biggest water puddle. Trailer and truck swerved. I was able to roll safely off Hwy 22.

God knows me best… parked me right under a light post 😉

Pouring rain… My truck would not move forward or backward.

Upon winching my truck on the tow truck, we discovered…

Assumption by several professionals: upon my last tire rotation (at that same tire shop that said I was safe to go)…must have over torqued the lug nuts. Bing … the lug nuts and studs fell off 🤦🏼‍♀️

Thank you, Angela and Keith for the use of your truck, to rescue my trailer, mother and horses.
