We are so PROUD to announce that ~ Ty & Jay qualified for the National High School Rodeo Finals in Rock Springs, Wy in the Team Roping for the South Carolina High School Rodeo Association. Only the top 4 teams in the state qualify to represent their state on a National level. Well headed to Wyoming the boys will also be stopping in Shawnee, Ok to also compete at the International Finals Youth Rodeo. What an awesome opportunity to compete at both rodeo and a trip of a lifetime for the boys, proud is truly an understatement ☺️
To help sponsor the boys on this trip - let me know what day/s you want in the month of June. Instead of doing two calendars, we are asking that you just double the date you choose for your donation.

No plans for this upcoming weekend ?!?! We would love for all to come out and support the Cowboys & Cowgirls from the South Carolina High School Rodeo Association at the Mint Hill Rodeo in Mint Hill, NC!!!
FJ6’s two sons will be competing in the show both nights in calf roping & team roping !!
Three of the FJ6 Performance Horses - Cougar, Woody and Malibu will be the mounts this weekend for Ty and Jay.

Today the FJ6 family didn’t say Good-Bye but Do your job, Teach another cowboy & cowgirl & We will see you our on the rodeo trail again to Fergie aka Bean !! She is a mare with a ton of heart who loves her job and even at 22 yr old she still has fire out of the box along with a bit of prancing …

Well ~ I guess it is time to make it FB official and let all know about the new journey we have taken ….
The beginning of March 2024 - FJ6 Performance Horses was created & launched !!! Please like, follow and share our page. As we are very excited about the new babies we have and are already working. With over 30yrs in team roping experience including all aspects of being an equine owner has laid the foundation for FJ6 Performance Horses. Learning what it takes for an equine animal to become a performance horses is a craft that takes consistent time and work on daily bases. Here at FJ6 - it is a family affair !!! Each member of our family plays an intricate role in the family business.

We would love to introduce you to our family and give you a small glimpse into how FJ6 got started.
Jake and I are high school sweethearts who have been together for 26yrs & married for 21. We have been blessed with 4 amazing children.
Jake has been involved with horses and team roping since he was around 10. He started his roping career with his dad and brother along with family friends - The Brown’s (Big Luke, Little Luke and Jay). Jake’s developed a love for roping especially heeling - becoming very competitive and successful in his teens and early 20’s. Roping in that late 1990’s and early 2000’s including the SC National High School Rodeo Association, local and reginonal/national rodeo associations, area ropings/jack pots and the USTRC (that’s all that was avaiable 😉). Marriage, career and kids had him place his hobby on the back burner but he never lost the love for it.
The saying that you always return to your roots is so true !!! And well overtime that is just what happened.
Our youngest son, Jay wanted to be a cowboy at a young age and got his first horse Kate at 6 in 2014. Ty, our middle son, got his first horse at 13 in 2018. A recuse horse that we were asked to take as the owner could no longer take care of him. Ty started roping on the head side in the beginning of 2021 and entered his first SC high school August of 2021. Jake picked back up heeling in the Summer 2021. By Fall of 2021 - Jake, Ty and Jay were roping full time and our nights/weekends were spent at an arena. In the Spring of 2022 - we built a new barn because within about 8 month we went from having 2 horses to 7 horses. Jay started Jr High School Rodeo August of 2022. This past August 2023 - Ty and Jay are competing together in SC High School Rodeo Association. Our oldest, Drew - enjoys riding and roping the dummy but his days are spent on the lake as he is on a bass fishing scholarship in college. Charlie Ann, our youngest and only daughter, knew how to push cows by 18 months and she refers to all cows as “hey cow” not “moo cows”. And well truth be known she would rather be around a real “hey cow” than the Chick-Fil-A cow any day. Because in her words “that’s not a real cow mommy and I don’t like him”🤦‍♀️. Don’t get me wrong though - the girl does love her Chick-Fil-A chicken, I mean who doesn’t !! As wife/mom to these crazy 5 - I say I am the chaos coordinator. Dinner is at 4pm or 10pm - if you live this lifestyle you know what I mean. My washer always has hay/straw in it - dirty boots stay at my back door - and the horses get taken care of first.
It’s a crazy life but it’s our life and we LOVE it. And now we are taking our passion for horses, team roping and calf roping along with the knowledge base gained over the years to produced amazing performance horses from FJ6.
We welcome you to follow along our journey !!! But even better we would consider it a privilege to take on the training of your equine animal to give you the performance horse you have always dreamed of owning.
