It's hard to think about flea and tick season while there's still snow on the ground. However, it's important to be prepared and know what your options are when it comes to keep you and your pets safe from these creepy, crawly pests!

At Prairie Dog, we focus on a more natural, less synthetic path, and that includes our flea and tick choices! We carry a few sprays made from essential oils that are effective at keeping your pet from being bitten this spring. Some of the staff even use them on themselves to keep mosquitoes and flies away. For years, we've used sprays like the Mad About Organics and Project Sudz to keep our pets safe during outdoor adventures.

In addition to the sprays, we use the Max & Molly SoundShield. It uses ultrasonic waves that pets and humans can’t hear, but irritate the nervous system of ticks and fleas. The effectiveness has been researched and proven by one of the oldest universities in the world for veterinary medicine, the University of Camerino in Italy.

Even if you use a chemical or ingestible prevention, nothing works 100%. That's why we also carry food grade diatomaceous earth and tick removal devices so that you and your pup can hit the trails again in no time.

Happy "Meet The Team Monday"!
This week we are introducing Damon who has been working here since 2020 making him another very familiar face for many of you. While Damon is only a part time employee, he is an important part of our team and the on staff "tall guy" to help us reach stuff.
When Damon isn't at work, he is an awesome cook for his family, coaches lacrosse, and loves traveling. He has 2 tall, fluffy dogs named Roxie & Floyd that enjoy leisurely neighborhood walks.

Lemon 🍋 turns 10 months next week 🤩 and she just came home from her first long roadtrip! 🚙❄️ She made a new Doberman friend, got to romp around on a farm 🦆🐓 and learn about goats! 🐐🤯

Such a good girl on the roadtrip. I think our Ellensburg stop will forever be a happy memory because she scored some street food fries 🍟 at that Chevron.

Some days I’m so impressed by this bright and intuitive puppy. She was truly lovely during Declan’s recovery!❤️‍🩹 She gave him extra space, but then she’d dote and check on him and she totally slowed her roll. (Now that he’s on the mend, she’s back to her bulldozer puppy self!?!)
