With dropping temperatures, it is important to keep pets safe from the harsh Chicago winters. If you see an animal being left out in the cold for extended periods of time, please take action.

When in doubt, contact your local non-emergency police line and they will be able to connect you with local animal controls and humane societies who are able to help pets who are in need of protection and rescue.

The holidays are a magical time, but they can also bring some unexpected risks for our pets! Here are a few tips to keep your furry family members happy and safe:

🎄 Decorations
Keep ornaments, tinsel, and lights out of reach—these can be choking hazards or worse!
Anchor your Christmas tree to avoid accidental topples (especially if your cat is interested in climbing the tree!)

🍫 Holiday Treats
Chocolates, baked goods, and alcohol are toxic to pets. Stick to their usual diet to avoid tummy troubles!
