Good morning everyone!! It looks like winter has finally decided to arrive. Better late than never? With the much needed snow comes concerns over road safety and appointments. Everyone’s comfort level is different, some people are comfortable driving in a white out and others don’t want to go out in a small flurry. If you are uncomfortable leaving your home in the upcoming weather give me a shout and we’ll reschedule. I will be in as long as I’m comfortable taking my daughter out on the roads to get to daycare. Everyone’s safety is the top priority!!

2023 went so fast I can’t remember when I last updated about Nail Trim Charities!

As a reminder nail trims are done on a walk in basis (feel free to call or text to make sure I’m available, especially if you are planning to bring multiple pets). The cost for nail trims is always a donation, any amount you are comfortable donating, every dollar adds up and helps the organization chosen. This service is available to everyone, grooming client or not.

Our most recent non-profit is our local TNR program! Through training, trap rental and spay/neuter assistance, this group is helping reduce the number of unwanted and feral cats in northern Michigan. Feral cats cause a huge problem for many communities. By simply trapping, altering and releasing you can help eliminate the nuisance to people and the suffering of the animals. If you haven’t heard of this groups please check them out!

So, big reveal time! The total collected and donated to TNR is $1,327!!!!

It’s been a whirlwind of a month! I hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas! Our weekend and Christmas Day were full of family, fun and love.

A HUGE HUGE THANK YOU to everyone for the patience during one of my busiest times of year, all of the warm holiday wishes, and the thoughtful generous gifts! You all brought so much joy to the season for myself and my family.

I will only be open Wednesday and Thursday this week, next week I’m closed Monday and then back to normal!

Happy Snowy Monday!! It won’t last long but it was so beautiful to watch falling yesterday!

Unfortunately I will be closed today. Lydia and I caught a bug last week that hit hard over the weekend and hasn’t let up. So it’s another day of hot tea and movies for us while we kick these fevers!
I am also closed tomorrow for my oldest son’s last (🤞) orthodontist appointment in petosky, as well as Thursday for my rheumatologist appointment in TC. Never fear, I’m in all weekend to make up!

🎶 It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas 🎶

The snow is coming and so is Santa! Unfortunately I am completely overbooked for December. I’ve filled every last second of every last day. I was hoping to fit in more of you, my phone hasn’t stopped ringing, but I physically can’t do more. If you haven’t gotten a call back yet I will be calling with the option for after Christmas appointments.
Now, I would LOVE to share some shops in town with any availability for the holiday season! Who has openings?!?!

If you tried to catch me at work today you know I was out, I spent the day driving Liddy to and from the pediatric dentist (thanks to my momma for keeping us company!) so nothing got done as far as work. Being a mom comes first though. So here is my late night update for everyone:

Many of you haven’t gotten a call back from me yet so it’s no surprise to you that I was extremely overconfident on my ability to get everyone scheduled. Or maybe I under estimated the actual number of pets needing in. Either way, it’s definitely going to take me to the end of the week to get back to every. I am trying my best! My schedule is very full though, expect it to be a couple weeks at least before I can get you in. If you aren’t a reschedule and haven’t left me a voicemail or text by today I probably won’t have room for you before Christmas even with my extended hours the remainder of the year. I’m sorry but I’m only one person.
I will be working a few Saturdays and even a couple Sundays to get caught up so if you need a weekend nail trim before the holidays swing by!

That’s all I’ve got for now. Happy Opening Day to all the hunters tomorrow!!

This is me heading to the kitchen to make another pot of coffee while my phone charges!

I’m planning to be back Monday as long as my hand doesn’t do anything crazy over the weekend. So while the boys are in school today Liddy went to grandma’s house so momma can focus on scheduling! I’m about half way through messages, and I should be able to finish up by the end of the day!! If Monday comes and you haven’t heard from me please reach out, I’ve gotten sooooo many texts and voicemails while I was gone it’s possible someone may get lost.

A big thank you again to everyone for the well wishes and your patience with my extended time off. I won’t be doing the other hand for a few months now!! 🤣

Good afternoon everyone!

Today was my surgery follow up and suture removal. I was hoping to announce my return but that’s not what this post is.

In my hurry to return to work I pushed myself a little too hard and have developed an infection in my hand. I will be out another week for sure and will hopefully know after my next incision check when I will be back.

I am so sorry to everyone for all the cancellations and delays. My phone is full of messages from people wanting in, wanting to move appointments, wanting things I just can’t do and answers I don’t have at this time. If you have an appointment next week I will be reaching out to cancel, otherwise you will not hear from me until I am cleared to return to work. Please understand that I cannot book appointments if I don’t know when or how much I will be able to work.

Please keep in mind, we have many many wonderful groomers in town that may be able to fit you in weeks before I can.

Hoping today, at the very least, brings in a slower pace for the week! Last week was a blur and anyone that tried to catch me knows I was just straight up not available!

I’m here to give another update as the end of last week changed my plans again. I am scheduled for my first carpal tunnel surgery Oct 20th. While this won’t fix my hands the surgeon said it should give me at least some relief for a while. The down side is that I will be off for 2 weeks; October 20th- November 3rd. I’m working on rescheduling everyone those two weeks!!

Now, being booked out 3 weeks solid, then having to reschedule 2 weeks of appointments, and having a long list of messages from last week to return means…. A very stressed groomer!!!! 🤣😩

I am doing my best to get everyone in as quickly as possible but as I said in my previous post I can no longer work more than 40 hours a week. So anyone reaching out from today on plan to be looking at December or later for an appointment.

Good news, I’m planning to wait until January or so for my second surgery. Maybe I’ll be caught up by then!!!

Hello hello out there!!!
It’s only Wednesday but it’s already been a long week!

Just popping on to give everyone a quick update:
* I am still unable to take on any new clients
* The average wait for an appointment is 3 weeks
* At the moment it is taking me a few days to return messages due to the high volume and busy days

Unfortunately I will have to cut my hours back again, closer to 40 a week, due to my body just not being able to handle the long days and weeks anymore.

I am completely swamped and overwhelmed at work and home so please be patient as I try to keep up with everything.

Thank you all so so much for your continued patience and your support of my business!!!

It’s been such a long sick week at home that the turkeys were following me around the barnyard this morning wondering what I was doing out and about so early!

I’m still working on rescheduling everyone, I truly appreciate your patience! Unfortunately my hands have gotten to the point that I can’t really work the long days or pack in quite as much as I use to so it takes a bit longer to get everyone worked back in.
Only 6 ish more weeks until I see the hand surgeon though and hopefully get some relief.

Good morning everyone!!! If you’ve had an appointment so far this week you know I’ve been out with a sick baby. Summertime sick is the worst and she’s been extremely uncomfortable and demanding. So, I haven’t been able to do much more than cancel appointments. I’m hoping she’ll be well tomorrow and I’ll be back to work and able to catch up on rescheduling and messages. It was a nice couple months without sick days but schools right around the corner, good luck to all us parents!!

It’s the last week of school here in Alpena, are your kids as excited for summer as mine?! I can’t believe we’re already into the summer schedule!!

I’m booking out a few weeks so please be prepared for a bit of a wait for appointments, especially as I continue to try to cut back closer to 40 hour weeks. And as always my days are packed full so it does take me a bit to get to messages.

Unfortunately due to how full my schedule is I am not going to be able to take on any new clients. I am so appreciative of all of your referrals and it’s so hard for me to turn anyone away but I just can’t keep up anymore. Luckily we have several amazing groomers in our community to choose from!!
