Hi, I’m Courtney! And I know that it can be tough to find trustworthy, responsible, insured & bonded pet care providers to come to your home to take care of your beloved fur babies. This is one of the main reasons Courtney's Pet Care Professionals was born. In 2014 after having hired a pet sitter who forgot

to show up I created Courtney's Pet Care. We offer In-Home Specialty Pet Sitting and Dog Walking services in Mandeville, Madisonville, Covington, Lacombe and Abita Springs. All of our services are provided by pet sitters who are Insured & Bonded and have passed federal background checks. We believe that pets thrive in their home environment with familiar scents and routines, so we come to them! We also specialize in care for senior pets or pets with diabetes. We are members of Pet Sitters International (PSI). PSI is the world's largest educational association for professional pet sitters. PSI is dedicated to educating professional pet sitters and promoting, supporting and recognizing excellence in pet sitting.

Risks of Walking Dogs in Excessive Heat:
1. Heatstroke: Dogs can quickly overheat in hot weather, leading to heatstroke, which can be fatal if not treated promptly.
2. Burned Paw Pads: Pavement, asphalt, and sand can become extremely hot and burn your dog's paw pads.
3. Dehydration: Dogs can become dehydrated quickly in hot weather, especially if they are not drinking enough water during walks.
4. Exhaustion: High temperatures can cause dogs to become excessively tired, leading to physical exhaustion.

Signs of Heat Stress and Heatstroke in Dogs:
~Excessive Panting and Drooling
~Red or Pale Gums
~Increased Heart Rate
~Lethargy or Weakness
~Vomiting or Diarrhea
~Stumbling or Uncoordinated Movements
~Collapse or Unconsciousness

What to Do If Your Dog Shows Signs of Heat Stress or Heatstroke:
~Move to a Cooler Area:
~Get your dog out of the heat and into a cool, shaded area or an air-conditioned room.
~Cool Your Dog Down Gradually:
~Use cool (not cold) water to wet your dog's body, especially the abdomen, paws, and ears. Apply cool, wet towels and use fans to help with evaporation.
~Offer Water:
Let your dog drink small amounts of cool water. Do not force water if your dog is unwilling or unable to drink.
~Seek Veterinary Care:
Contact your veterinarian immediately or take your dog to an emergency veterinary clinic, even if your dog seems to recover after initial cooling measures.

Hi, I’m Courtney! Owner and Founder of Courtney’s Pet Care Professionals.

Just like you, I love my pets. And I know that finding someone trustworthy and responsible to take care of your beloved fur babies when you have to go out of town or while you’re at work can be stressful.

That’s why I started Courtney’s Pet Care.

I provide busy pet owners (like you!) peace of mind - so you can finally take that long-overdue vacation, or visit family at the last minute - without having to worry about whether your pets are getting the care and attention they deserve while you’re gone.

I’ve dedicated the past 6 years to serving pets and people all around New Orleans and the North Shore. I understand that pets feel more comfortable when they’re being cared for in their own homes, so my team and I strive to create and maintain a stress-free, loving, and familiar environment for your pets whenever we work together.

My entrepreneurial dream to found my own pet care company began in 2014, when I was volunteering as a dog walker. I’ve also volunteered extensively with Animal Rescue New Orleans (ARNO), and over the years have continued my education in pet care, nutrition, and safety to ensure I can provide the best care possible for your pets.

I live in Mandeville with my husband Jack. We are the proud pet parents of 2 dogs, 2 cats, and 2 chickens! There’s Wolfie (Corgi/Border Collie), Panda (Beagle/Basset Hound), Gizmo (Domestic Long Hair), Mr. Magoo (Domestic Long Hair), and Sweet Pea & Olive (Lavender Orpington Hens). It’s a full house!

Courtney’s Pet Care, LLC is a fully licensed, bonded, and insured dog walking and full service, in-home, pet sitting company. Our Pet Care Professionals are employees not contractors and are covered by Workmen’s Compensation.

All of the employees of Courtney's Pet Care Professionals are part of a carefully selected team. We aim to only hire the best, most loving and qualified sitters to work for us. All of our Pet Care Professionals work together as a team to ensure that your pets have around the clock loving care.
