This beautiful 17 month old, 155 # MacPac masked fawn mantle male, Buster, is in need of a new home due to an unexpected changed in his current home and their inability to keep their big baby. He is a social boy with plenty of puppy energy. He is being neutered next week and will be ready for an approved new home once he has healed. Message me if you are interested.

All puppies have found their forever homes.
I will no longer be able to breed my beloved Great Danes. Injuries have forced me into an early retirement.

Soon… Annie will begin her basic training with an evaluation for possible service.

Henry & Fred now have homes, but I still have 2 beautiful girls.
Take a look at Jackie, a blue fawnequin. She is so much like her sire, Captain Jack. Loving, attentive, and playful. She will be a silly little talker that will capture your heart. Price reduced to get her in her forever home.

🚨 Attention pet owners! Blue-green algae is not just algae, it's a toxic bacteria that can cause serious harm to your furry friends. Here's what you need to know:

🌊 Where is it found? Blue-green algae can be found in non-flowing fresh water, such as ponds and lakes, and in backyard pools that are not cleaned regularly. It's most commonly seen in hot seasons when rainfall is minimal.

👀 What are the signs? The signs depend on the type of cyanotoxins that the bacteria produces. Neurotoxin-producing cyanobacteria can cause lethargy, disorientation, muscle twitching, excessive salivation and tearing, seizures, and paralysis. Hepatotoxin-producing cyanobacteria can cause vomiting, bloody or black diarrhea, and pale or yellow mucous membranes.

🚨 What should you do? If you think your pet has been exposed to blue-green algae, seek veterinary care immediately. Make sure to prevent your pets from drinking or coming into contact with any water that looks suspicious. If you have a backyard pool, make sure to clean it regularly and avoid stagnant water. Remember, prevention is key!

For the Love of the Breed

I grew up with many kinds of animals, have always admired and respected them, and have been intrigued by their willingness to become companions for humans. I was fascinated and loved them all.

In 2004, after many years of owning many breeds, I splurged and purchased a German Meistersinger Great Dane, black with white markings. I truly wanted a mantle, but since I was already spending more money than I ever had for a puppy (or dare tell anyone the price I paid), I simply could not spend more to get the exact coloring that I wanted. There was also the issue of being able to find a beautiful mantle that a breeder was willing to turn loose to a client rather than keep it for future breeding. I suppose my taste was more elaborate than my pocketbook. So I fell in love with a puppy I had seen once in person and many times over the internet. I waited for weeks hoping to see a new picture, but the grainy one you see above is all I had. Time crept so slowly... until Samson entered our lives. Never would I have imagined that a dog would capture my heart to the point of never choosing another breed to enjoy, but that is exactly what has happened. The comedy, the intelligence, the adorable nature, the companionship, the protection, the love... he was a perfect match for me and my family.

In 2011, we were made aware of a female fawn and a brindle male that had been severely abused, starved to near death. The heartbroken breeder who was fortunate enough to recover the two, nursed them back to a better weight, and allowed us to adopt them. We knew there could be serious complications with their health especially later in life, but the honor of gaining more love and the trust of such a magnificent creature was worth the cost. They grew to be the best pets we could have hoped for. I am so thankful that I have had the pleasure of Great Dane Rescue and highly recommend anyone looking for a Great Dane to first check out your local shelters and rescue groups. I believe there is an important purpose for both the breeder to improve and keep the line pure, and the rescues. Both are important and should exist peacefully by helping each other.

In 2015, I began my search for a Harlequin Great Dane. I truly had a difficult time finding a good quality puppy. There were so many breeders advertising non-standard coloring and white Danes as rare and more valuable. Heavens forbid! Needless to say, I knew that I had to be careful or I could end up with a giant breed with many health problems. There is a reason that AKC has a standard, and that reason is conformity for health reasons. This is what led me to become a breeder even though our kind is not thought of very fondly. I will probably never make money doing it, just recover some of the expenses. As I mentioned, it is not the reason that I chose this profession. I care for my animals as my treasured pets, not as breeding stock property. I provide this service, however small it may be, for those in the same situation that I found myself in a few years ago. The number of puppies that I will provide will be small in quantity but of good quality bloodlines. I drove long distances (even out of state) to find my puppies from great honest breeders and have raised them with great love, knowledge of the breed and their needs, and the best veterinary care.
