We found our first jack russell while on our route and that was that , we were officially jack russell lovers. Stella was her name and she had been starved to the point that her backbone stuck straight up off her back . She was a kitchen dog ; always snorting and grunting as if asking “whats for supper ? “ She and our two other rescues Heidi and Mouse (not jack russells) went everywhere with us,. We had two really bad years in a row. My Heidi passed of leukemia and Stell shortly after with heart trouble and Mouse later from old age of almost 19 years. We had just had our third child 6 months ago , but were still missing something. I told my husband that my feet were lonely when i was out doing chores and that i wanted to get a very well bred shorty jack . My plan was to start out with excellent breeding and testing to have a Long Healthy Life with our jackie. While i was searching , I discovered the wonderful full colored Jack Russell called the Hunt Terrier www.ahtca.org Please look at the American Hunt Terrier Club Association website , it is very informative. There were many other people in our surrounding area that were also jack russell lovers but there were not many breeders around. We decided to start breeding and raising the hunt terrier because we love them and it seemed like there was a need for someone around our area to provide health, temperament , and conformation in this breed. I took my time looking for the right two to start our program. Our black and tan dam Ericka is from Russellville Farms and our sire Wind River Victor comes from Loblolly Farms. Both very reputable breeders. I enjoy the rare chocolate color and so Victor is a chocolate and Ericka carries the chocolate gene . Their first litter together produced two black and tan and three chocolate females. Victor has what is known as prick ear , It is not genetic and is not passed on to offspring. He is “My Boy” we have a special bond and i just couldn’t picture him ever again with correct ears. They are part of what makes him unique. We are raising each litter in house and socializing with children, big dogs , chickens, goats, and horses. We have half an acre fenced in for there use. They have a covered outdoor kennel in their pasture along with huge boulders to crawl on , trees , willows, and water. They are thoroughly entertained when not with us. They all spend nights and inclement weather in house with family. All puppies are kept UTD on all shots and dewormings, they have dew claws removed, and tails docked. We require a $200 deposit to hold a particular pup. Puppies are ready for their forever homes at eight weeks. They are sent with a package of blanket with mom and litter scent, toy, litter registration, copy of sire and dam registration, vet record, health guarantee, and a sample of puppy food they are currently eating. We are very proud of our small program and continue to better its development . We will shortly be introducing a “puddin jack” to our breeding program. Stay tuned for pictures! We will be putting a website together , but for now please keep intouch with us through our page. Thank You to everyone for your continued interest and support. Please call , text or PM us with any questions, or for more pictures. We would love to visit with you.
