*** AVAILABLE FOR ACTIVE COMPANION PLACEMENT***

Arden
Auggie x Aurora

Arden is a wickedly smart, sassy, silly, exuberantly naughty female puppy that is available to an active pet home. Born on September 14th, 2024, as part of our "Places To See" litter, Arden is ready to come home as soon as we find the right family for her.

Arden is a busy girl that will keep you on your feet, and so she needs a family that is more than able to keep up with her. Fortunately, she's also the silliest little clown - so even if she can be a bit exasperating, she'll keep you laughing! Incredibly affectionate, Arden loves nothing more than being the center of attention, and she is quite intelligent and eager to please. This little girl would likely do stellar in a range of performance sports - even just for fun.

Arden is excellent with other dogs, and her clownlike temperament often makes her friends as ready to run as she is. Because of her energy and personability, it would likely be beneficial if her new family has a slightly older dog - around 4 or 5 years - to help balance her and give her a friend that can keep up with her and take some of the edge off. Because she is a bit naughty, I would prefer her prospective family have previous Sporting dog experience to help smooth her transition and keep expectations reasonable.

Arden is very sweet (if very exuberant) around children, so a home with very small children likely wouldn't be right for Arden, as they might find her a bit overwhelming in her affection. Similarly, Arden has been introduced to a cat, and while she hasn't been aggressive, my kitty did protest to the amount of slobber she enthusiastically lathered on him, and it did take her a few good smacks from the murder mitts to learn to back up and respect the growl and hiss.

Arden is crate trained, potty trained, well started on her leash manners and house manners, and rides fairly well. She has started some obedience, but all of my homes are eligible for up to $200 back after the successful completion of a beginner training class. She is up to date on vaccines, deworming, and pest prevention, and she will come home fully vetted and with an extra month of prevention. I send my puppies to their new homes well stocked to ease their transition, and homes convenient to Nashville can take advantage of up to 30 days of free boarding at my home per calender year - I adore getting to see my kids grow up, and they love coming to their first home to run with all of their extended family.

I am so blessed that we had the opportunity to breed to Auggie, and I have really enjoyed watching these kids grow up over the last few months. They have been a great comfort to me in some incredibly trying times. But, sadly, I cannot keep them all - and they are getting to an age where having several is basically wall to wall chaos, so it's well beyond time they find their people. 😅

Arden is by Auggie (GCH Solaris Scenic Byway JH) out of Aurora (Fantasy's Auld Lang Syne), born September 14th, 2024.

*** AVAILABLE TO A COMPANION HOME ***

"Rowlf" is a nineteen month old intact male from our June 2023 litter. This litter is the first third generation litter to bear the Fantasy kennel name, and so I've been growing these boys out to watch how they mature, and I am absolutely in love with all of them.

Rowlf is an affectionate, active, happy boy who absolutely adores attention, and he is genuinely convinced that the world was made to pay homage to his adorable self. Athletic and well driven, this boy adores any activity which lets him show off his leaps, but he has a well developed off-switch which comes out in his demands for snuggles. Intelligent and eager to learn, he is quick to master commands, and he is sweet and affectionate with older, well mannered children. Nothing pleases this darling boy more than spending time with his favorite humans, and he is incredibly biddable and has a good head for training. That said, like many boy Vizslas, he can be a bit softer in the face of corrections, and even a stern "no" can cause him to melt into the floor - new families should be willing to take direction in regards to training as necessary.

Rowlf is excellent with other dogs, and is very well-mannered even in large groups, tending to be fairly neutral and easy-going, and quick to find someone else to play with when spats break out. He can be a bit possessive of "his" things when in a group of dogs (toys, his food bowl), but he tends to only be vocal in his protests. He gets *very* excited about kitties, and he tends to be mostly respectful, but homes with cats should plan to introduce them very carefully, as Rowlf can be rather exuberant.

Rowlf's flexibility and happy-go-lucky personality mean that he would be a good fit for a wide variety of homes. His best fit would be:
- Fairly physically active on a regular basis (hiking, running, even just playing around in the yard)
- Have no children under five (Rowlf can be a bit less patient with toddler antics - he is not snappy, he just runs and hides.)
- Someone who is willing to pursue regular training routines to build and maintain good connections - interest in sports is a plus, but absolutely not required.

Rowlf is fully crate trained, has basic house manners, rides very well in the car, and is well behaved on a leash. He has a few basic obedience commands, but all of my families are encouraged and compensated for taking training with their new companions. Rolf has enough energy and exuberance that he would make an excellent hiking companion or trail runner, and while he does need to be kept mentally stimulated (like any Vizsla), he is not nearly so busy as some others - and maturity is settling him quite nicely. He will come home with a registered chip and fully vetted, including current on rabies, and with a bill of clean health from my vet. All of my puppies come home with a well-stocked "starter kit", and are supported for life by my genetic health guarantee, outlined in my contract, as well as a right of first refusal clause - meaning you never have to worry about your dog's future if you find you cannot keep them for any reason. They always have a home with me. Homes local to the Nashville area can also take advantage of up to 30 days per calendar year of free boarding with me in my home - I adore getting to see my kids grow up, and they love coming here to play.

Rowlf is still intact, and prospective homes should plan to neuter him in the next six months. Rowlf is incredibly well behaved and does not at all act "studdy", in spite of being intact - and he runs with other intact males, and they all get along quite well with very minimal spats.

Rowlf is out of our "Snow White and the Seven Muppets" litter, and is out of Marilyn (CH Fantasy's We Are All Of Us Stars) by Paddy (Group winning/NOHS BIS/Multiple OH Group Winning and Placing/MBOSS GCHB CH Fantasy's Little Golden Horseshoe CGC), born June 28, 2023. https://www.vizsladatabase.com/testMating.php?m=253929...

Dear pet owners:
Please, for the love of everything Holy, make your prospective dog's breeder justify their price. Please.

I just got off the phone with a lovely woman who found my Facebook post, and is looking for a puppy. Our conversation started with chatting about my philosophy and methodology surrounding breeding, and eventually wound around to my price.

Upon hearing the figure, she was shocked and blurted out, "wow, you're a lot cheaper than [semi-local unethical breeder]! I was actually scared to hear how much you charged!"

It took absolutely all of my will power to keep my cool and not utterly lose it, because I saw red.

Now, this woman didn't deserve any part of my ire - and I wasn't angry with her at all. She deserved the respect and dignity of a gentle, kind education - and that's exactly what I made sure she got. An unhinged, sanctimonious rant would have put her off entirely, and done nothing to help my point.

But now she knows to make her breeder justify their price, and I hope she'll carry that with her, even if she doesn't get a puppy from me.

For my non-dog folks, think about it like this. Imagine you strolled into a WalMart to see, in a locked case, a knock-off, no name, mass produced, "pleather" handbag. Upon inspection, you find that this item is priced higher than a hand-sewn, Italian leather handbag from a well-known designer.

That bag would never sell, and it wouldn't sell for a reason. That bag is quantitatively not worth that price. It is poorly made from cheap materials.

So why would you spend more to purchase a puppy from a breeder who is cutting corners every way they can, when you can buy an ethically bred dog whose breeder has done the hard work and and spent the time, money, and effort to make sure you get the best dog possible?!

These unethical breeders are getting their audacious prices - otherwise they wouldn't be charging it. And while I fully stand behind breeders charging what they feel their dogs are worth, justifying YOUR price with MY price being the "going rate" when you don't do even half the work that I do, is theft - plain and simple.

Please remember:
* "My vet said they're healthy!" =/= Independently verified, specific health testing with publicly available results.
* "They're such great pets!" =/= Carefully and intentionally breeding to the written standard as set forth by the parent club, independently verified through titling
* Constantly using their own male dog or repeating the same matches over and over =/= Countless hours of pedigree research and careful consideration of both dams and sires to ensure every litter adds positively to the gene pool of the breed.
* Their dogs are spoiled and kept in the house! =/= Ethical, responsible breeding practices. (Most breeders keep their dogs in their home with them. This isn't a distinguishing factor.)

Many of these "breeders" are shooting puppies out the door the very second they can, with minimal vetting and intestinal worm loads, with almost no preparation and no support for the owner. They're selling them like they're end tables, not living, breathing little souls. And they will take your money and run, and you will never hear from them again - especially if you have a problem.

Please, please. Make your breeder justify their price up front, and don't be shy about it. Ethical breeders have no trouble showing you why they charge what they charge. We're walking the fine line between keeping our dogs financially accessible and not going into debt with every litter - and we have no problem sharing that breakdown.

And please remember that you are not doing the dogs any favours by "rescuing" them from these breeders - especially if you pay full price. You bought the dog, they have your money, and they could not be bothered less by how you feel about it. They WILL breed more litters, and more puppies will suffer.

Happy Thanksgiving!

As we turn towards the Christmas holidays, I look around and realize that I have been selfishly keeping too many of these kiddos to myself this year, and what they want most is a new best friend (or a family of best friends) for Christmas.

It's a sausage party here, and I have several boys ranging in age from just ready to leave up to young adults. All of them have fantastic, sweet temperaments and would love somebody to pay them all the attention in the world. Energy levels range from complete cuddly couch potato to get up and go hiking all day to hunt birds from dawn to dusk, but even my ready-to-roll kiddos have a fabulous off switch and are always ready for a good Netflix and chill session.

A few of these boys are absolutely stunning and have a bunch of attitude to boot, and I would really, really love to keep them relatively close to the Nashville area and see them strut their stuff in the show and performance rings. That said, the perfect fit is more important than anything else.

I also have one beautiful, birdy, amazing seven month old girl up for discussion, and I will have a few younger girls looking for a couch starting in January.

I spend nearly all of my waking time here lately just keeping up with the dogs, so I am woefully behind with everything else. However, I'm using the Thanksgiving break to get caught up, and each of these darling souls will get their own dedicated highlight in the coming days.

If you've been thinking about expanding your family by four red paws, please reach out to me! I would love nothing more than to fulfill some Christmas wishes and see these kids find their own, beloved couches to adore. ❤️

Took my one token trip into town, and I can't even begin to express how ready I am to move out to the middle of nowhere. It is far too people-y out here. 🫠 Ready to have the space to put the dogs on birds whenever I want.

A few of my favorite shots from the VVCT Bird Fun Day this past weekend. I had a blast (literally, I popped an ear drum with a cap pistol 🤣) putting several of the dogs out on birds, and Roxanne absolutely aced a mock JH, surprising me by holding points and minding off lead.

"Freddie" came out with me to visit our favorite chiropractors, and she had to try out the table while she was here! She had a blast making friends with new littles to play with, accepting adoration from admirers, and generally was just a beautifully behaved girl.

Active Pet Home/Performance Prospect

"Billy"

Billy is one of our boys from our May 2024 litter, out of our Solaris rockstar Roxanne (GCH CH Solaris Your Mama Don't Dance at Vizcaya) and our home-bred boy Paddy (Group Winning/Owner Handled Best in Show/Multiple Best of Opposite S*x in Specialty/2018 Vizsla Club of America Reserve Winner's Dog GCHB CH Fantasy's Little Golden Horseshoe CGC). We held Billy back in order to watch him grow just a bit more, and do a more in-depth assessment of his potential.

Billy is a super sweet, super snuggly, eager to please, intelligent and active little boy. His favorite activities include running with his favorite human (my nine year old daughter), chasing after bugs and butterflies, and pouncing on every unsuspecting grass seed pod he can tackle. He is a little softer in his temperament - meaning that he may want to go, go, go, but if you correct him too hard, he will melt into the ground. Extremely biddable and handler-focused, Billy is already quickly picking up commands, and will thrive in a home that can match his energy level and inventiveness.

Billy does have some bird-sense, and we would love to see him in a home that is interested in doing some casual bird work with him. A desire to actively and regularly hunt is not required, but bird work would be an excellent outlet for his energy and his creativity. He has excelled in his introductions to frozen bobwhite quail, and his points have style and flair. He willingly retrieves with no regard for feathers, although his retrieve to hand needs some work - it tends to become a game of keep away with this fantastic new toy he has. If not bird work, his home must be committed to keeping him active and engaged through some structured activity - Billy is not going to be the kind of dog that is going to be happy always doing the Netflix and chill. Sometimes, yes, but not all of the time.

Billy is nicely put together, and would likely do moderately well in the show ring. He may be too challenging for a new Junior Handler, but would likely do well with a more experienced Junior who also enjoys other sports and activities. Billy has been introduced to water that comes up to his chest (where he can still touch), and he is in and out like a duckling. This boy will try anything if it makes his people happy!

Billy is fastidious in his crate, though he does have a bit of age-appropriate happy tinkling if he is picked up or petted while coming out of or immediately after coming out of his crate. An avid car rider, this boy genuinely enjoys going on adventures to new places and seeing new things! Billy is dog neutral in that he is perfectly content whether on his own or with other dogs - as long as he has his people! He does not tend to be particular barky or loud-mouthed - if he is fussing in his crate, it is because a need is unmet (he's hungry or he needs to go potty). He has done very well with being introduced to leash walking, and handles stairs like a master.

Billy has had his third vaccine, and he is ready to spread his wings and take on the world! He will come home with everything he needs to transition, registered and chipped, on a comprehensive contract with a full health guarantee.

The litter theme for this litter is The Heart of Rock'n'Roll - "Billy" is inspired by Billy Joel's song "It's Still Rock and Roll to Me." His registered name must come from the lyrics of that song - we suggest "Fantasy's Talkin' Bout the New Sound", but his home will have some flexibility with his final registered name. These puppies were born in the early morning of May 9th, 2024.

You can see more pictures of Billy over his life in his Google photo album: https://photos.app.goo.gl/Qg1DG3CJJhHugwvY8

In love with Billy, and think he would be the perfect fit for your family? You can fill out his Questionnaire to apply for him - https://forms.gle/He5d825cf3rbJkRS6 . Submission of the Questionnaire will be followed up by a scheduled phone call so we can get to know each other better, and see if Billy really is the right fit for your home. Well, it's not *exactly* stack pictures, but it is pictures!

We've been taking "nature walks" in the evening out in the fields, and the babies are having an absolute blast. We always have at least one of their parents with us, and they are loving getting to hang out and explore with Roxanne and Paddy. Of course, Grace usually joins us, too, and everyone runs until they're tuckered! I'm fairly certain I got head shots of just about everyone except Joan.

Forgive my camera, some day I'll get one that can handle movement in variable light. 😅

Earlier this week, I was diagnosed with severe PTSD as a result of my wreck.

Now, I don't want anybody to think that this post is fishing for sympathy, or that I'm trying to excuse anything. I'm not.

What this is, however, is an attempt at an explanation.

I know I suck at being social, y'all. Trust me, I am painfully aware. Unfortunately, a choice someone else made has affected me in ways I still haven't even begun to wrap my head around, and right now every ounce of mental energy I can bully out of myself is devoted to these kids, the grown dogs, and my human kiddo. Not necessarily in that order, but at least Grace can feed herself and she's potty trained.

Now that we have an answer to what on earth is happening, we're developing a plan to move forward so that I can also start taking care of you guys.

In the meantime, I appreciate everyone's patience as I try to figure out how to survive as a whole and entire person again. Six week glamour shots are coming, but here's the babies' first time on grass to get you through.

We are fully weaned now, eating big kid food and pooping like little champions. Personalities are out in full force, and it has been such a blessing watching these precious little souls grow by leaps and bounds the last few weeks. ❤️

10/06/2024

When it rains, it pours.

At first, it was settling on the perfect names to match the unique personalities of these kids.

Then, when the first photo session didn't net me any useable photos, we doubled the light sources and tried again.

I've been on the web and YouTube for the last two hours while processing the second set of pictures this morning trying to figure out how on earth the settings on my camera have gotten so wonky. Needless to say, yet another photo shoot was shoe-horned in to my schedule for this afternoon. Hopefully with MORE light sources some more natural light, and a hard reset on my camera, we'll get more useable shots. 🫠

In the mean time, I'm already two and a half weeks late, so we're going to work with what we have for right now. Each puppy is also getting their very own Google album, which I will link below.

At long last, I am so proud to introduce our Heart of Rock and Roll litter!
