Over the past two weeks, the fires have had a devastating impact, not just on people but on animals too. Shelters like have taken in over 400 animals, many of whom require urgent medical attention.

They’ve been working tirelessly, collaborating with incredible rescues like and so many others to transfer healthy animals and make space for those affected by the fires.

Today, in honor of Change a Pet’s Life Day, we’re featuring three incredible adoptable pets who are looking for their forever homes:

It’s been 15 days since the Eaton Fire began, and we’re all still recovering. As animal lovers, we’re in awe of the heroes - organizations like - who are tirelessly working to heal and care for animals affected by this tragedy.

Since the fire began, Pasadena Humane has taken in over 250 stray animals, many of whom are still waiting to be reunited with their families. These are just a few of the animals currently in their care:

The animals featured in this post, in order, are:

A519243: A female gray cat from Altadena with burns all over her body, currently being treated in the ICU.
A519656: A male shepherd mix found near the trails in Altadena.
A519188: A male husky mix from Altadena with burn injuries and smoke inhalation, under treatment.
A519470: A four-month-old kitten recovering from burns in the ICU.
A519716 & A519717: A male black-and-white dog and a female brown-and-white dog found near Pasadena High School.
A519739: A female brindle dog found near Montana and Lincoln in Pasadena.
A519553: A longhaired black-and-white cat from Altadena.
A519452: A male black cat rescued by a Pasadena firefighter near Loma Alta Dr., recovering from burns in the ICU.
A519617 & A519620: Two huskies found near Loma Alta and Lake in Altadena.
A519712: A 13-week-old female lynx point kitten found near Lake and Washington in Pasadena.
A519773: A male brown tabby found near Altadena Dr. and Lincoln in Altadena.

Pasadena Humane has extended the stray hold to 21 days to allow families more time to reclaim their lost pets. After this period, unclaimed animals may become available for adoption.

We’ve raised $24,316 of our $25,000 goal for Pasadena Humane through our fundraiser to support their efforts. Every donation helps provide medical care, shelter, and resources for these animals. If you’d like to contribute, please visit our fundraiser linked in bio.

If you’ve been feeling like hiding under a blanket these last few weeks like - you’re not alone.

It’s been a tough start to the year, but our dogs remind us to stay present and grateful for what we have - even in the hardest times.

On that note, our good friend Nicole ( mom, lost her house in the fires. She’s now working to rebuild her life. If you feel like giving, she has a GoFundMe page where you can support her journey.

Here’s to brighter days ahead, and the little reminders from our pups to keep moving forward.

In the wake of the fires, we’ve seen incredible light shining through the darkness. From neighbors helping neighbors to strangers stepping up for those in need, love and compassion have been at the heart of it all.

Today, as we honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., let’s remember his call to lead with love and light. Whether it’s through a kind word, a helping hand, or simply being there for someone, every act of love makes a difference.

The outpouring of love and kindness from so many people wanting to help both pets and humans affected by the fires has been truly inspiring. We are so grateful for this amazing community and the way you’ve all come together during such a difficult time.

As we continue to pick up the pieces, our dogs remind us of what really matters-connection, joy, and the ability to bring people together, even in the hardest moments. Thank you for being part of this journey with us.
