UPDATE 2012 -----
Me and a good friend/helper Tina had been catching some cats and bringing them in to get fixed, and I decided that we should try to get money to help out with the expenses, and it really made me upset when I heard we would not get a grant. We are now working with a feral cat rescue in Grand Rapids, and we have back ups, traps, and carriers ready for stray kitties to come in to
get spayed/neutered. Our first 2 kitties were caught 4/28/12 two black cats, a male and a female, and they were brought in 4-29-12 and picked up 5-1-12 from getting fixed. We are trying our best with this, but we really hope to get a grant for this all soon. Right now it is Torti's Grant TNR Holland Mi. But that name is hard to get out there, so we are coming up with a better name and a symbol for it. LETS GO HELP THE STRAYS!

From 2011 when I first made this page:
I am 15 year old Johanna Kortman, and I tried to get a grant from the city of Holland to help TNR (trap neuter return) the stray cats in this area. I was told by a lady who worked for the city on 8-17-2011 that if I think the cat population is a problem I could try to get a grant! But I needed back ups, a local vet place and Harbor Humane society of West Olive to back me up. Sadly, I found out in 2012 that for some reason me and allmy back ups would not be getting the grant...I WAS NEVER GIVEN A REASON WHY :(
I am big time into animal rescue, and someday I hope to have a rescue. Please share my dream to get this grant, lets see if I can get 100+ likes, I really want people to believe in me and to help me! We need help for this.
