As Calvert county kids head back for their 1st day of school, I want to wish you all (kids & parents) a great, safe & fun school year.
Dream big, because if you speak it into existence, you just might surprise yourself and make that dream a reality!

Throwback to little 5th grade me, and my yearbook prediction of what I wanted to be when I grew up.
Well, I guess you could say I’ve grown up, and I certainly made that dream a reality. 12 years in the veterinary field as a veterinary technician. Once Levi was born, he set the fire inside me to start this business so that I could continue to care for animals, while also raising him.

Levi & I will embark on our 3rd grade homeschooling journey in 3 weeks and I’m so proud of this life we have built, where we can spend all our moments together ❤️

Rocco decided to move in and make this house HIS house 🤣. I love when the pups hangout in the little playhouses I have for them in the play yard, my favorite is when they play tag/Hide and seek with the two tunnels.

Dogs can teach us so much ❤️
The lesson Maisie taught yesterday was:
“We are all different, and have different ways of doing things, but we can always meet each other in the middle”

Piper is a literal pinball, bouncing off everything and dives for the feet of other pups, but she is soo sweet and just loves everyone. Maisie quickly learned to adjust her play, to let Piper bounce, jump, do flips & tricks all she wants. Laying on the ground and just letting Piper be herself.

What a wonderful year it has been!
Full of friendly furry faces, many non stop days, and a growing list of clientele.
I can not begin to thank all you wonderful clients enough, for continuing to trust in my services, care of your precious animals, as well as spreading the word to your friends and family about Axellent Pet Care.
My current list of animals I care for include:
4 Bunnies, 29 Cats, 101 Dogs, 1 Hedgehog, 12 Horses, 1 snake, 2 Turtles and a farm of cows, chickens, goats & pigs.
Out of these numbers, I have added 23 new pups to my in-home dog boarding this year!!!
It’s hard to believe that I have all of these animals under my care throughout the year, and it is all thanks to YOU and your continued support. I am looking forward to the new year and all the new furry faces it may bring. I wish you all a Happy, Healthy & Prosperous New Year!

My client, Sue, who just so happens to be The CEO & Co-founder of Brutus Broth, put my little business as a top pick of hers for small businesses ❤️

This means so much to me and my little self started, owned & grown business.
Being recognized in the slightest, and shouted out is honestly quite an emotional feat.

I worked my butt off, with a baby in tow. Spending my days out on the road from morning to night doing drop ins, building my clientele and establishing such deep bonds with the animals I care for.
Now, 6 years later I have built this little dream into a thriving, compassionate and oh so loving business. We have the perfect set up now for boarding and I’m able to spend my days at home, teaching that once little baby, whose now 7 😳

It’s been an incredible ride thus far and I look forward to all the new furry faces I’ll get to meet, and continuing my care and love for my existing and long standing clientele.

I appreciate you all so much.

Murphy doesn’t even live in Maryland anymore. When his owners travel up from NC to visit family, Murphy still comes to stay with me ❤️
It’s honestly the BEST feeling when clients move away, yet still bring their pups to me when they’re in town.

Murphy had a blast during his Thanksgiving stay here, and his puppy like behavior came out to play with furry friends 🐕🥰

An unidentified canine respiratory disease complex has been reported in Maryland as of 11/27/2023. At this time, cases have been mostly mild, although some have progressed to pneumonia. Therefore, it is best for pet owners to be aware of, and be diligent in looking for clinical signs.
If you have any concerns regarding your pet, please call your veterinary office for advice and scheduling an appointment.

I am doing extra cleaning of my kennels/kennel area between pets. All bedding/bowls are wash and sanitized between usage (as always).

Not my usual kind of post, but this sweet boy “Boogs” needs help.
Unfortunately, he lost his elderly owner a few weeks ago 😔.
The family of his lost owner is now trying to find him a new loving home.

Boogs is a sweet, timid boy. His owners granddaughter had taken him in, in hopes to transition him into an outdoor barn cat, but this timid boy isn’t cut out for that life.

Boogs is an 8yr, neutered male, Domestic short hair. Seeking a new loving family to take him in and provide him an indoor only home to find his new beginning.

If any of my clients, or someone you know, have space for this cutie in your home & family, please reach out to me and I will get you in touch with his current care taker.

I’m off with my family, for a mountain adventure until 10/16.

This handsome boy Simba just finished up his first stay with me 🤗. 7 days of playing with new friends, each one becoming an instant bestie for this sweet, fun loving, playful boy 💙. Can’t wait until I get the pleasure of caring for him again.

Finished up my final job last night, and we are off to vacation mode 😎.

I will be back “in office” on Monday September 18th and will begin responding to any inquiries. Please be patient on my response time and allow 72 hours from 9/18 for me to respond, as it’s just me and I jump right back into caring for all your animals on the 17th 😊.

Over the past couple months, 3 of my clients have had the heartbreaking loss of their sweet furry loved ones 💔

Chloe, Ricky & Rocco

Every dog, cat, horse, bunny etc. that I get to care for leaves their mark on my soul and their loss breaks my heart to hear about. I’m lucky to have so many animals in my life that I get to care for, love and learn their personalities so well.

Rocco (on the right) the cutest little bat dog, was the sweetest old man who experienced a bad neck/back injury earlier in life, but didn’t let that stop him and he lived a long well loved life of 14 almost 15 years!

Ricky (middle) was a senior rescue who didn’t trust many people (rightfully so). He was the sweetest snaggletooth old man and I was lucky enough to gain his trust and able to love and care for him through all his health issues and declining health. His sweet owners gave him so much love and made the tough decision to set him free from his pain just a few weeks ago.

Sweet Chloe girl suddenly and unexpectedly passed away this morning 😔. Every loss hurts deeply, but the unexpected and sudden ones tend to be the hardest as goodbyes aren’t able to be said. Hoping her sweet fur brother Cooper and family are able to comfort each other.

I hope all of these families are able to find comfort in treasuring all of the precious memories they’ve shared with these sweet pups over the years. Thank you for letting me care for them, love them and be a part of their lives ❤️

🔥☀️This heat calls for some cold showers & dirt/dust baths for these boys 🐴 🚿Cold Showers - Help horses to cool their bodies off quicker than they can regulate in this heat. Letting them dry naturally helps the cooling process. Scraping excess water off can actually cause them to heat up vs. cool down. 🛁Dirt/Dust baths - Rolling in the dirt/dust gives them a protective layer against those pesky bugs🪰 & protects their skin against then sun ☀️ #AxellentPetCare #EquineCare #PassionatePetCare
