Any of my friends looking for a beautiful brand new Master saddle. I just won this saddle Thursday. It does not fit my tank of a mare. It is a 14.5 and a 7" gullet it is a hybrid foam bottom. I would like to get as close to what the retail is or trade for another Master. Let me know if anyone is interested before I list it to the public

Good morning, this weekend is the highly anticipated benefit barrel race for my family, and I sincerely hope to see each and every one of you there. You don't have to be an experienced horse rider or even own a horse to come and enjoy the exhilarating barrel race, so don't let that discourage you from joining in on the fun. The race will take place at Longhorn Arena in Mt. Vernon, which has plenty of seating, (we do bring our own comfortable chairs) delicious food and drinks at the restaurant, and an extraordinary array of exciting items to bid on in the auction. So, mark your calendars, saddle up, and let's make this weekend one to remember! Racing for Ray Benefit Barrel Race

This race will help our trainer Ray and our family with her medical bills. Please consider riding or even donating. There will also be a silent auction to help out!

Thank you so much and God bless! 🙏🏻💕

Mark your calendar now! A great fund raiser for Ray ❤️

Copied and it’s worth reading…

As we enter Horse Show Season
1. Horses don’t get broke at home. Be brave and enter!
2. EVERY disappointment at the show is a learning opportunity..... Be humble, be open to change.
3. Everyone gets nervous. Everyone has bad days. Everyone makes mistakes. Literally: EVERYONE!
4. Don’t watch others in the warmup ring and start changing what you have been doing - if you see something cool or you want to step up your game that’s homework for after the show!
5. When we run out of knowledge, we often punish our horses. Seek help instead.
6. Be a competitor! But be a horseman first. There is always someone watching who sees you as a role model.
7. Supporting your fellow competitors and engaging with people will enrich your show life.
8. Know the rules of competition! Make sure your attire and tack is legal. Read the rule book, ask questions and be well prepared.
9. Have FUN, don’t sweat the small stuff!

This has been one heck of a year and we have been blessed beyond measure. We are looking forward to seeing what 2024 brings us as the door of 2023 closes and leaves us with an adventure and new opportunities.

Thank you to all who have supported us on this long journey and those that will continue on into the next. Our lesson program has been a major blessing to us and the horses. We can't get over how amazing and talented our students are. Can't wait to see what 2024 brings all of us!

Here's to a new year! 🥳🎉

🍁🍂🍂🦃🍂🍂🍁

We are hosting a Thanksgiving camp for riders of all experience levels and age.

🍁🍂🍂🦃🍂🍂🍁

Learn about horse care: grooming, feeding, bathing and even horse first aid! Saddle a horse, learn about tack, and even explore different styles of riding! You'll find out interesting facts about the history, evolution and anatomy of the horse while picking up some horse lingo (did you know that horses are measured in hands?) and caring for and riding the horse you'll have throughout the camp session.

When not riding, you'll get to play games, make new friends and get crafty!

All of our camps are held on our 40+acres filled with trees creeks and wildlife, it allows the campers to enjoy trail rides and explore the countryside on select days of the camp as well!

Bring your own lunch and don't forget your bottle of water!! Depending on the weather, campers may eat indoors or down in the arena.

For riding instruction campers will be assessed based on experience and skill level:

Level 1: The basic seat, steering and riding technique at the walk, transitions from the halt to the walk and walk to the halt.

Level 2: Walking and posting the trot while staying centered and balanced. Ability to steer at both gaits and maintaining good control.

Level 3: Balanced canter, leg yields, headset and collection. Ability to regulate gait and ride patterns.

While campers are grouped together, each student is taught based on their individual skill level by our excellent instructors, prioritizing safety and fun while riding. Our teaching staff represents well over a century of training and riding experience, advancement is decided by the instructor who primarily considers the safety, skill and maturity exhibited by the rider. We encourage all our riders to set goals during their session and do our best to help them attain those, be it a first canter or a perfect halt from the walk.

Drop off and Pick up: Campers should arrive each morning between 8:45 and 9:00 AM. Pickup should be promptly at the end of the day . Your child’s safety and enjoyment at camp are very important to us. Being on time allows them to receive the maximum benefit of camp, and due to limited supervision after camp, it is important that they are picked up on time.

24/10/2023

This really resonated today… this is a hard industry, people are hard to please, horses are easy to please but can’t be machines for people, the sport is not a fair playing field. Income plays a huge factor in many aspects, but…. If you’re willing to put in the time, stop making excuses about the horse or the tack or the judge or what have you… this sport is magical! It gives timid kids confidence, it gives troubled kids support, it gives over-confident kids humility, and above all it teaches compassion and kindness for the animals if done right. Enjoy the process and let yourself learn💞

Things your riding instructor wants you to know:
1. This sport is hard. You don't get to bypass the hard…..every good rider has gone through it. You make progress, then you don't, and then you make progress again. Your riding instructor can coach you through it, but they cannot make it easy.
2. You're going to ride horses you don't want to ride. If you're teachable, you will learn from every horse you ride. Each horse in the barn can teach you if you let them. IF YOU LET THEM. Which leads me to…
3. You MUST be teachable to succeed in this sport. You must be teachable to succeed at anything, but that is another conversation. Being teachable often means going back to basics time and time and time again. If you find basics boring, then your not looking at them as an opportunity to learn. Which brings me to…..
4. This sport is a COMMITMENT. Read that, then read it again. Every sport is a commitment, but in this sport your teammate weighs 1200 lbs and speaks a different language. Good riders don't get good by riding every once in awhile….they improve because they make riding a priority and give themsevles opportunity to practice.
5. EVERY RIDE IS AN OPPORTUNITY. Even the walk ones. Even the hard ones. Every. Single. Ride. Remember when you just wished someone would lead you around on a horse? Find the happiness in just being able to RIDE. If you make every ride about what your AREN'T doing, you take the fun out of the experience for yourself, your horse, and your instructor. Just enjoy the process. Which brings me to...
6. Riding should be fun. It is work. and work isn't always fun.....but if you (or your rider) are consistently choosing other activities or find yourself not looking forward to lessons, it's time to take a break. The horses already know you don't want to be here, and you set yourself up for failure if you are already dreading the lesson before you get here.
7. You'll learn more about horses from the ground than you ever will while riding. That's why ground lessons are important, too. If you're skipping ground lessons (or the part of your lesson that takes place on the ground), you're missing out on the most important parts of the lesson. You spend far more time on the ground with horses than you do in the saddle.
8. Ask questions and communicate. If you're wondering why your coach is having you ride a particular horse or do an exercise, ask them. Then listen to their answer and refer to #3 above.
9. We are human beings. We make decisions (some of them life and death ones) every day. We balance learning for students with workloads for horses and carry the bulk of this business on our shoulders. A little courtesy goes a long way.

Of all the sports your child will try through their school years, riding is one of 3 that they may continue regularly as adults (golf and skiing are the others). People who coach riding spend the better part of their free time and much of their disposable income trying to improve their own riding and caring for the horses who help teach your child. They love this sport and teaching others…..but they all have their limits. Not all good riders are good coaches, but all good coaches will tell you that the process to get good is not an easy one.

✨ Thank you to whoever wrote this! Not my words, but certainly a shared sentiment! Copied post.✨

Jester joined Glitter and Kait on Sunday at the NBHA MO 02 race. It was his second outing and he did absolutely amazing even with all of the commotion happening around him. He did everything that was asked and was an absolute dream. 💕✨🏇

He stole Glitter's Designer pad from Hot Headstalls , I'm not mad about it. It sure looks good on him, hehe.

We've had a busy busy busy summer!

This weekend Kaitlyn and Glitter won top of the 3D slot for NBHA in the state of Missouri! This is Kait's first buckle. Glitter won 8 checks in total and one of which was for first in 3D Youth with a little girl who borrowed her for a round, her first ride on a "big barrel horse". Congratulations! 🎉 👏🏼

Glitter-bug isn't too enthused about being in the heat while her rider is all gushing over her new saddlepad. 😪🥵🤣 Thank you queen for being a good sport. 💖

Absolutely in love with our new Designer saddlepad from Hot Headstalls . It is the high cut wither pad and fits this old lady's pointy withers and dippy shoulders super well, which is something we've been having issues with when looking at pads! It also pairs perfectly with our LV tack set from Janice’s Halters and more ! Thank you both for the amazing tack. Love the quality and hoping to fill my tackroom up with both brands soon. 💖

I do have two bridles from HH that I am eagerly waiting on, hehe. They are very fitting for the naughty ponies of the bunch. 🤣 Will post those on Nostalgia and maybe Jester once they arrive, so stay tuned!

King George had his first archery session yesterday and he did well enough to immediately move into bridleless. 👏🏼✨🐎💅 He said, "I got this kid. Lemme do my job." I'm very excited to be able to debut him in a couple weeks. Cutter won't be carrying all the weight this time 💕

🐎 We currently have four horses available. 🐎

🐴 Jester: ✨Paint - 10 years old - 15.1hh ✨

Has had several months of professional training under saddle. Slide stops, does rollbacks. Working on a spin. He moves amazingly off of seat and leg. His trot is great, very forward and floaty. Good with transitions for different gears in his trot. Has a smooth canter, but needs leg since he can be lazy picking it up. He loves being out on trails and is an exceptional arena horse. He’s been around cattle and we've swung a rope off of him. We've shot a bow off him, crossed water, logs, dragged things behind him. Have worked with tarps, pool noodles, yoga ball, small crossrails. Will stand tied for hours, lunges, stands for farrier. We have all of his vet records. He’s an exceptional all around horse and with direction per my trainer, he’d make an amazing sorting, reining, speed event, or even a fancy horse to hit the trails with. We hate to sell him, he's been with us for six years now and we absolutely love him, but he would thrive much better in a home that puts his skills to use. Requires an experienced rider due to how sensitive and reactive he is to leg.
📸 I have tons of videos and pictures of him. Open to PPE’s as well.

🐴 Andromeda: ✨Mustang from Little Owyhee HMA - 12 years old - 16.1hh ✨

She is such a blast to work with! Currently the head horse in our lesson program as well as one of the mounts used for archery, liberty, and tricks. This girl is amazing and can do it all. She moves off of seat and leg and has a quick stop. Gentle enough for the younger kids, yet bold enough for a step up mount for the older kiddos or an adult. She is great on trails, easy to steer and fun to be around. Knows the Spanish walk and currently working on half steps for a piaffe as well as a bow. She is learning basic liberty work and trick stunts.

🐴BraveHeart: ✨Mustang from Devil's Garden HMA - 3-4 years old - 14.1-2hh ✨

Perfect project for anyone wanting to dip their toes in the water with mustangs. The hard part is already out of the way and he is gentled. Just needs someone to start him undersaddle and will make an amazing riding horse!

🚫REHOMED🚫

🐴 Sanguine: ✨Mustang from Stinking Water HMA - 3-4 years old - 15.3ish hh ✨

He is next in line to be gentled out, but can be adopted beforehand to be started yourself. We are partial to this guy and will be sad to see him leave, he has so much personality and talent! ✨
