We have a training update on the adorable, Ralphie! He graduated from Puppy Preschool this past fall and is now currently enrolled in our Intermediate obedience program. Ralphie has mastered on leash training and is currently working on off leash commands. Hannah and Ralphie are working hard and doing a great job!
As we begin to wrap up this year’s board & train dogs, we reflect back on all of the amazing dogs we have had the opportunity to train and work with this year. We have seen so many transformations and love watching our client’s bond with their dog grow stronger.
Rosie went home this week so she could be with her family for the holidays. Check out her obedience video! 🐾
Fathom K9 Safe Harbor Program
As we start to celebrate Thanksgiving, our team would like to share what we are thankful for this holiday season. We are extremely grateful for our Safe Harbor program and being able to provide this service to our community both locally and nationally.
Trainer, Michelle Scott, heads up this program and we are blessed to have her a part of our team. She assists shelters and rescues all over the United States in order to save many dogs from death row.
There are so many dogs who are given death sentences in shelters due to poor behavior and lack of structure. We submerge these dogs into our obedience and behavior programs which allow them to be adopted into a forever home. The keyword is "forever." Our top priority is making sure dog owners are properly educated and have the guidance necessary to make their adoption successful long term. We assist them every step of the way. Ralphie exploring Charleston! 🩵 Getting your puppy out and about to explore new places, people, sounds, objects, etc is so important at this age. Exposure helps build a confident adult dog but also allows you to begin teaching your dog manners and how to behave when out in public around so many distractions. The earlier you start the better! 🐾

Meet Edi! Today is her first day of obedience training and we are excited to work with her! She is one strong girl so teaching her how to walk properly on a leash is at the top of the list. Over the next three weeks she will also learn manners and off leash commands. She likes to chase cars so teaching her a reliable off leash recall is top priority! Stay tuned for her progress! 🐾

Ralphie’s First Bath! 🛁 If you want grooming tasks to be a breeze then you have to start young! It’s important to incorporate weekly brushings, baths, and nail trims into your routine with your puppy. The more you expose your puppy to these tasks the more acclimated and tolerant he/she will become. 🫧

Our Elite program requires more focus and attention from the dog. We take the leash away completely by teaching the dog an off leash heel. We add in two more advanced commands as well, sit & down in motion. Once the dog is proficient in these commands we focus on distractions.
If your dog has completed our Intermediate program then he/she may be eligible for Elite. Contact your trainer to find out if our Elite program would be a good fit for your dog! 🐾

Owner’s Goal: Increase Stella’s confidence to help with her fearfulness of people.
When we first started Stella’s training she was terrified. Terrified of us, staff, noises, pretty much anything that moved. We took our time with her. Built trust and a bond. Every day we watched her tail come unglued from her belly and slowly begin to wag.
This is just the beginning of her journey and we are not finished! We have more public exposure planned to continue increasing her trust with people. Check out that tail wag in the video below! 🐾
We are so proud of how far Cora has come since training! Before training she would loose her mind around distractions, especially around a skateboarder! 🛹 🤯

Stella - Building Confidence!

Today, marks another week of training with this sweet girl, Stella. This video may not look like much but to us it means increased confidence, trust, and progress. Stella is very skittish of new people. When we first started her training it was a challenge to put a leash on her and to get her to walk with us due to her being so afraid. We have taken the time to build trust which in return stopped the trembling and gave us a tail wag!
We can’t wait to see what another week of training is going to do for this girl’s overall confidence! 🐾
