Meet Dingo, a handsome, intelligent, and eager to please young Shepherd/Malinois mix!

This sweet love bug just got neutered and vetted and is ready for adoption. He is friendly with people and kids, seems to love puppies, and the dogs he has met so far. How foster is currently working on socializing him with new adult dogs, and so far he has done great!

His $275 adoption fee helps reimburse the costs with his neuter, rabies, vaccines, microchip, etc 💓

YOU CAN RAISE $50 TOWARDS TIGGER OR PEARL'S VET BILL **AND** SAVE $50 YOURSELF, by having your pet seen at Vineyard Veterinary Hospital in Temecula by March 31st by our referral! (So please make sure to message us your phone number/e-mail, so we can submit it through the referral link they provided us)

Vineyard is one of our two favorite and most visited veterinary clinics here locally, and has an all-star and incredibly caring staff, which is always important to us; and are the veterinary clinic providing care for Tigger and Pearl!

Thank you everyone, and stay tuned for additional fundraising options *of our own* that we will be posting soon!

These are Pearl the Dogo and Tigger the Boxer's estimates for each of their medical needs.
We would ideally also like to do pre-surgery imaging on Pearl if funds allow, so we can confirm that her hemangiosarcoma is the cutaneous/subcutaneous, and that she doesn't have any internal varieties of HS.

Right now, we are looking at probably over $2,300 in veterinary care, and definitely over $2,000. This comes after two other vet appointments a week and a half ago for our personal senior dogs, and 3 spay and neuters earlier this month., leaving us with very little personal funds, and no rescue funds, to put towards this at the moment. 😞

We will be launching a few fundraisers and offers to help boost our financial starting point to get Pearl started on her diagnostics and management ASAP, and Tigger after. During that time we will also be looking into grants and such to apply for as well, but these can take time and aren't guaranteed.

To get the ball rolling:
We implore anyone who is moved by the sadness of senior dogs loosing the comfortable homes they've known for nearly 7 and 9 years, and being left begging for a place to land and rest as they tackle big, scary, and uncomfortable medical issues, please SHARE their stories, and consider donating.

Please 💕follow💕 us to stay updated on our additional fundraising - including doggy walks for donations! 💓 And, if you could be that sweet, soft landing place for either really great senior dog (whether long-term foster or possible future adopter), please reach out to us.. as well as if you have any experience applying for grants and would like to help us in this area!

A few weeks ago, we were returned two of our senior dogs: 11-year-old Tigger the Boxer mix (adopted at around 2 years old in 2016) and then about a week and a half later, approximately 9-year-old Pearl, the deaf Dogo (also adopted around 2 years old, in 2018). 😞😞

Both dogs came back to rescue with decent medical concerns.
Tigger came back with a tail injury that had been bloody and infected and recommended for amputation by the vet that his adopter had taken him to, a tumor on his back close to the size of a tennis ball, and bad teeth and stinky breath. His medical concerns were among the reasons for his return. Our hopeful goal was to nurse and heal his tail and avoid amputation if possible, as we've been able to do with a few other tails (and legs!) of previous dogs that had been diagnosed as possibly needing amputations.

Pearl came back with numerous bloody scabs underneath her, and as her owner explained, was chewing herself up badly after the death of the dog she had lived with and bonded to over the last 6.5 years and now that the adopter was working full time.

So, we got our sweet seniors in to the vet to see where we were at.
In the time we've had Tigger, we were able to finish getting his tail healed to where Dr. Drelich at Vineyard Veterinary felt his tail looked good and did not need amputation!!! Unfortunately, he absolutely needs dental done, with an estimate of about $850. 🤯

Pearl.... Pearl's bloody areas were found to be masses, not chew trauma from stress or anxiety... We had already had some concerns after observing them closely (she is not a dog who bellies up often, and would rather stand and kiss you when you approach her to look more closely), but at their vet appointment our concerns were confirmed: the bloody masses are most likely hemangiosarcoma, which has been a DEVASTATING cancer we've dealt with a few times now, including with the very first Dogo who came into our rescue, introducing us to the Dogo breed (Frosty, who we coined the hashtag, for, as we waged war to extend his life, including surgical gender reassignment necessary to remove the cancer which was riddling his male reproductive parts externally and internally). 😭😭😭 Fortunately, Dr. Drelich feels this may not be as severe a case of hemangiosarcoma as we've faced in the past, and with a less heartbreaking outcome. For surgical removal and biopsy, the estimate is around $1,200. We would also ideally like to start with x-ray and diagnostic imaging, to make sure that we have a full idea of what we are working with, and to ensure the cancer hasn't metastasized internally.

Both of these dogs are WONDERFUL, gentle, easy-going pups, who have been adored and appreciated by everyone who has met them since they came back to us. Pearl wants nothing more than to give awkward little kisses to everyone she meets, including new people (she was always a unicorn Dogo!) or solicit butt rubs & scratches from willing humans, and all Tigger asks for is to be snuggled and scratched and told "What a nice dog!!" until he quietly wanders off to sunbathe nearby.

So- we will be fundraising to help cover their medical and get them back on the road to health and happiness since we already spent a good portion of our personal income earlier this month on veterinary care for our 2 personal senior dogs (and 95+% of vetting or care for dogs under our rescue is out of personal income as well). We have some information about this in our latest post on our page, and will update with additional fundraising information for anyone interested in contributing. 💓💓💓💓

We are also looking for long term fosters for each dog, since they are currently in a loving but temporary setting. We are also open to adoption inquiries who just want a really sweet, loving, easy-going and well behaved dog to spoil in their golden years and cuddle with. 💓

Thank you for reading our ramble about our beloved Tigger and Pearl and the struggles we are working to overcome! 💕

💥DO YOU HAVE BROKEN DOG CRATES? We want them! 💥

Plastic or wire, preferably Medium-XXL, we will find a way to reuse them!

One of our goals in operating our rescue is to recycle and reuse as much as possible - to reduce waste and to help keep as much of our finances available as possible for veterinary, food, and care bills.

We have sent many of our existing crates on to fosters or adopters for dogs in the past, and of course had a couple damaged a long the way, so we are starting to run short on crates.

We have a number of plastic crates that could be made new again with replacement parts, and also use damaged plastic crates and wire crates in other applications, such as in the garden (as fencing/caging to protect against squirrels etc, to catch water overflow from pots, etc).
So, rather than throw out a crate that might not be suitable for a dog currently, we'd love to work with you to see if we can repurpose it somehow!

And, of course, we are ALWAYS open to donations of new or undamaged crates as well!

Please message us to coordinate pick up! 💓

*CA applications only please!*
This is Ivy, showing off her best faces to hopefully win your heart!

Ivy is an approximately 8-month-old black lab mix, who will be spayed March 7th to finish her vetting and get her ready for her forever home (or an awesome foster home) after! :)

Ivy LOVES kids and adults alike! She is currently learning social confidence with other dogs, so can bark fearfully when first meeting new dogs, but loves to play with them once she knows them. We are working daily on building her confidence, so each new dog intro is easier and easier. She has had brief exposure to cats from a distance, and seems curious and alert but not aggressive.

Ivy is bright, energetic, and willing to learn! Will you bring her home and give her a chance to shine?

[Please message us if you're interested in more information, or would like to adopt, foster, or foster-to-adopt!]

*Ivy is in Southern California, but can be adopted to all of CA

Fundraising and foster needed!

Can anyone open their home or heart to a gentle, slow, old soul?

Tigger is an incredibly soft, snuggly, Boxer mix senior adopted from us 9 years ago, as an estimated 2-year-old pupper. His owner of the last 9 years returned him because it was said his medical issues and anxiety were too much to handle while being late in a pregnancy. When asked if his medical and such were resolved, would she be interested in taking him back, but unfortunately she said she didn't think so. He definitely needs some medical - he has chewed a sore spot on his tail which was quoted $1,200-1,600 for amputation, and has a large tumor that should be checked for cancer, as well as needing some dental work. While we are hoping to save his tail tip and avoid amputation as we've done on a number of dogs, we still expect his medical to run about $2,000-3,000, especially with his teeth.
Tigger is in a very short-term emergency foster, who has seen no sign of high anxiety or behavior issues - just a tired, sad, mellow, easygoing old dog who would really like to sunbathe or snuggle with his person.

Tigger is gentle and accepting of small kids and other dogs of all sizes.

If the idea of a gentle, sweet, 11-year-old finding himself homeless once again after narrowly escaping the euthanasia list he was 8 days past due on at a local shelter, makes you as sad as Tigger is, we implore you to consider helping.

First, we would love a long time foster home to give sweet gentle Tigger the love and attention he so deeply desires. He promises to rest his head in your hands or lap, and stare gratefully up at you with kind, soulful eyes.

Second, we need to fundraise quite a bit for his medical. Emergency situations recently with our personal dogs have minimized the amount of personal money we have available (which is generally what is used to pay most of our vet bills) - so we need help!
Please consider a donation of $25, $50, or more if you're feeling incredibly generous!

And, if you can't donate, we do understand. 🥰 But, could you possibly share this post as much as possible, even if only to help Tigger find a loving place to land for a while, as he gets his vetting done and starts what will probably be a slow search to find an amazing senior dog his second Forever? 🥺🥺🥺

The end of this year has been especially magical. We've not only gotten to see a large number of our dogs adopted into amazing forever homes, but we've managed to help a couple other rescues close to us with adoptions and training as well, making it a very impactful feeling end of the year.

Meet HOLLY (brown) and IVY (black), two approximately 4-month-old sisters who are looking for their forever homes!

Based on Ivy (and her brother, now adopted) looking like a little Black Lab, and Holly looking like a little Shepherd mix, we think that they have different daddies ;)

They are on their 2nd series of puppy vaccines, have been dewormed 2x, are microchipped, and are scheduled to be spayed and get their rabies vaccine 12/22.

These sweet girls are also available for foster to adopt 💓

Their adoption fee is $350, which covers their vetting!

🚨 Conan’s family needs our help 🚨

Everyone, meet our client, Conan. 🩶

Conan is a friendly and loved, eight-year-old lab pit mix who currently has the odds stacked against him and needs your help.

Conan‘s life is at serious risk.

He has been ordered to pay for a bite accusation, despite his calm demeanor and loving personality. And despite exculpatory evidence strongly suggesting that a death sentence is not warranted here, Animal Control wants to take Conan‘s life following this singular incident.

The city of Burbank introduced false evidence during Conan’s parents’ administrative hearing, and despite pointing out to the city that they made mistakes with their evidence, they want to kill him anyway.

But Conan‘s parents are not giving up! Conan is a member of their family who very much deserves to live. His family reached out to Ryther Law Group and Expand Animal Rights Now with a plea to help them save Conan‘s life. We agreed to take on Conan‘s case and appeal in order to save his life. This fight comes at a large expense that Conan’s parents cannot afford on their own, but they cannot imagine giving up their beloved Conan when they know that the singular incident does not define him.

Our whole team has fallen in love with Conan, and we are desperately asking our supporters and friends, to help us to save his life. If you are able to donate, even the smallest amount, it will help us take on Conan’s case and continue to fight for him. He deserves to live. With your help, we can fight this injustice. 🙏🏼

We have linked the GoFundMe page below. Thank you so much for your compassion and support in honor of saving Conan’s life.

Our Story

**FOSTERS NEEDED!* We are a non-profit family owned and operated 501(c)3 large breed dog rescue and wolfdog sanctuary. We are located in Sage, just outside Temecula Wine Country in Southern Riverside, California.

We are currently at capacity and unable to take in any new dogs, but we are always more than happy to network dogs in need publicly on our page, and our founder, Mariah-Rose von Weigert, is also a professional trainer who offers low-cost training options to dogs in need, including those with aggression issues. We are also looking for FOSTERS for our rescue dogs, which will allow us a wider reach to help save lives.
