Animal Relief Coalition of Iowa The Animal Relief Coalition of Iowa is a 501(c)3 non profit organization.

After significant growth and outreach in Iowa, ARC of Iowa is not only a new name, but now a PUBLIC charity serving all of Iowa. Formerly the Raccoon Valley Animal Sanctuary & Rescue, founded in 1998, our purpose and mission have also grown which enables us to help more people and their pets stay together, rather than be surrendered into shelters. ARC of Iowa will continue to network with other sh

elters and rescues, and work individually with pet owners on all levels of animal welfare services, including assistance, behavior modification with their pets, and even helping them pick out the right companion for life!

ARC is seeking donations for 5 more kittens vetting. We are.maxed out and there are 13 more in the area kitty colony area needing TNR..these cats DO have colony caregivers now, but we need monetary help to complete there vetting. We do have one sick one that we can catch if we have funding to do this. There three of us that have had the brundt of the expenses. The local Humane Society does t TNR they said.

Coco just got back to her foster. Spayed, vax, and ready for her forever home. Her foster is accepting applications.

She is a sweet gentle soul, who is playful, but enjoys lounging, observing wildlife and loves "cat TV games". Super sweet and very low maintenance.

She is about 5 months old so the perfectt age to add her to your home. Not too young, not too old.

Back history. She was rescued from a downspout during a torrential rainstorm in June. Just under 4 weeks old, cold and calling for mom. Mom and 6 kittens were all saved and waiting for their forever home, too.

The kittens will be getting vetted in the next 2 weeks. Mother has fou d a ho.e and vetting com pleted. Low cost spay/neuter doesn't exist among vets up here so donations for vetting and chips are welcomed. Venmo, PayPal, cash or check. Please share.

Neuters with vax and chips are just under $300 and spay is about $400. PLEASE help us get this colony under control before winter comes!!!

We will continue to try and socialize them, but we can't bare the burden alone!!!!! We have already got the kittens through their first vet visit, vax deformed and flea treatment.

Please also share this. Your contribution is tax deductible.

Boone Iowa has a "Community Cat" program but doesn't TNR!

TANGO UPDATE:

Her heart murmur was a level 2 (out of 6). She lost about .26 ounces since February so we are watching that closely.

Weight: 5.47 lbs a loss of .26 ounces since February.

Her respiratory rate was slightly elevated to about 60 but she's been holding at home to around 30, so we are hoping she was just stressed out.

We did decide to draw blood which will check on her thyroid levels, kidney's, white/red blood counts and electrolytes. We will have those results in about 2 days.

Tango's care is palliative meaning we will continue to monitor her health and provide comfort care, with minimal tests and procedures , like blood draws, fluids and meds to keep her comfortable.

Hospice care follows with managing her pain until such time we have to say goodbye!

Cats hide pain, so we can only go by her appetite, demeanor overall and food/water intake. So far, she's hanging in there....
