NEXT STOP: ADOPTION DAY!

You may have seen the heartbreaking photo of a Basset Hound with her mouth zip-tied shut. Today, this family of Basset Hounds is ready for a fresh start… while the former owner is facing nearly a dozen charges of animal cruelty, including one felony count.

The Surprise Police Department discovered 10 puppies and two adult dogs, and the mother of the pack had a zip tie around her muzzle. The owner admitted that this was to prevent her from barking. The dogs were transferred to AHS’ trauma hospital where they were examined further and cared for by AHS’ staff, and given the love they deserve. Now nearly three weeks later, they are ready for adoption!

Due to the outpouring of support for these puppies and their parents, AHS will host a drawing for their adoptions on Friday, April 15 at AHS' South Mountain Campus. Learn more here: bit.ly/3Ed3zeQ
