I am Lisa Weeks, and Desertshore Border Collies is my boutique border collie hobby (it's not a big breeding kennel, or a big showing power house, or a big anything, really, other than an extension of my great appreciation of the breed in all of it's dimensions). I train, show, herd with, and just in general, I love my seven border collies as family members. Occasionally, I have litters, and in so

doing, I try my darnedest to put forward a new generation worthy of the dogs that came before, to be enjoyed by families like mine. I appreciate athletic dogs with all-around capability and classic, timeless type. My dogs are a combination of ISDS and show-bred heritages from around the globe. Seventeen years ago today I welcomed my first litter of border collies, 2XBISS Sadie X Ir ISDS imp Shep's "Irish" litter: Roxy--Desertshore Celtic Magick RN AX AXJ CGC; Brady--CH Desertshore Celtic Spirit CDX RN; Jet--Desertshore Flying Irish HSAs; Oscar--CH Desertshore Luck Of The Irish CD RN; and my heart, Gigit--CH Desertshore Wilde Irish Charm HSAs HIBs HXAds. What an amazing, unforgettable group of collies! So grateful to them, and their beautiful people!

A Big Fat Belated Happy #7 to my Charlie and all the girls in Go-Go's litter (Rita x Spy)! I hope y'all had a great day. NOw that I am back from dog show vacation, Charlie and I will celebrate with a spa day for her, extra cookies, and some new photos.

No Xena, you can’t eat the wind chime! Big day for Xena at Border Collie Club of Northern California Specialties. Reserve in Sweeps and Best of Winners at the second specialty! Many thanks to our judges, big congratulations to the other winners, and chef’s kisses to the the club and show committee—Thank you! It’s your dedication that makes the memories! Great awards, and holy cow that raffle!

First post in a good long while! I am breaking my disengagement with social media to celebrate a fun road trip to (finally) show at the BCCNC Specialty. To be honest, I just got tired of the whole SM enterprise, especially as it relates to dogs, and needed time off to reevaluate. Going forward, I will be using this space for my enjoyment, and to do more to celebrate the fabulous dogs I have bred and their amazing owners. Late day light for the puppies’ first romp with momma Rita in the large yard.

Scamper, eat, scamper, eat. Puppies!

Once eyes and ears and legs and lungs get started, the whelps are puppies. Here comes fun! Songs of Peace+Love from Woody, Dylan, Jimi, Marley, George, and Joni.

Sleepy slugs, a little over-served. Peace and Love, cuter by the day ❤️

I couldn’t resist sharing this. These guys are barely a day old, and so vigorous, and toned, even. It’s a breeder’s dream to have such good mother, easy whelp, and a sound healthy litter of stout puppies. It fills me with wonder and immense gratitude every time.
