Got the sniffles? The medicines that help you feel better could be extremely dangerous to your pets.
Ephedrine and Pseudoephedrine (Sudafed), found in many over the counter decongestants, can lead to enlarged pupils, rapid heartbeat, high blood pressure, anxiety, hyperactivity, tremors, and vomiting. Often these medications’ names are followed by a D on the packaged label, signifying the decongestant ingredient. If your pet does consume any of these medications, please contact your local veterinarian or our office at 1.888.426.4435 immediately.

Early puppy training is critical!

Early puppy training is critical!

A study conducted by Tufts University and the Center for Canine Behavior Studies has concluded that early puppy training (before 6 months of age) drastically reduces the chances of a pet dog developing problem behaviors later in life- such as aggressive behavior, destructive behavior, excessive barking, and compulsive behaviors. Training for puppies should start the moment you bring your pup home- yes, BEFORE they have completed all their shots! Early socialization and training, when conducted with intention and care for physical and emotional health, is essential. Think of it as vaccinating against behavior issues. If you wait to socialize and train until after your puppy is fully vaccinated, you have missed a critical period of development. So get out there with your puppy and start having positive experiences right away!
