Mickey’s amputation surgery went well!

He made it through like a true fighter. Now, he’s learning to adjust to life on three legs — and he’s doing incredible. It’ll take time for him to regain balance and confidence, but we know he’ll be just fine. So many dogs live happy, high-quality lives as tripods, and Mickey will too.

We still need help covering Mickey’s hospital bills and preparing him for travel to the U.S. or Canada. Without a flight out, Mickey will spend the rest of his life in a shelter in Azerbaijan — and this sweet boy deserves so much more.

Seniors, bonded pair 🥺

** THE BONDED PAIR HAS LEFT THE BUILDING! **

5 days ago we posted a bonded pair of chihuahuas. The post had over 270 comments. We were excited to see the interest these seniors were receiving on social media and thought their stay would be short.

Pouncer and Angel are still here. They’re still in a loud shelter environment. They’re still just hoping their ages (15 and 14) aren’t scaring off adopters. We are not charging an adoption fee for this pair (we will screen applicants though!) We just want them in a warm home together.

North Shore Animal League America stands with people around the world in honoring the heroes we lost on 9/11.

We also pay tribute to the Hero Dogs — more than 300 search-and-rescue, bomb detection, and therapy dogs — who worked tirelessly at Ground Zero and brought comfort in our darkest hours.
