Breeding at its Best! The Cane Corso is one of two Italian "mastiff type" dogs. Despite the large powerful build he is graceful.
(6)
Originating in southern Italy the name of the Cane Corso derives from the Latin "Cohors" which means "Guardian" and "Protector"; a name that deems true. With the muscular and large-boned structure of the Corso they were often used as property watchdogs and hunting of difficult game. The head of a Corso is massive with a dignified and proud expression, and his body is long in muscle with short coarse hair. He is majestic and stunning in appearance with a piercing stare of a true "Guardian."
