Well on her way to being steady to shot.
We really had a hard time with this decision as this means we are not keeping any of the final Duke and Luna litter.
Pistol Annie is a spunky biddable, drive for days pup that has exeeded all expectations. Pistol is a carbon copy of her Mama Luna and her big Sister Virgie.
Pistol has the potential to be a great guide dog or just a companion hunter. Several full siblings (previous litter) have gone on to prove themselves in the field as top notch wild bird dogs. Big sister Virgie was by far our mvp of last season and had the most mearns finds and retrieves everyday she was out (Easily hunted 40 days last season). These lines have also proven to be fantastic waterfowl dogs as well.
Every single puppy from this litter prized for their NA.

The purchase of a well bred purebred did not sentence another dog to death.
The purchase of a well bred purebred did not cause an increase in the number of dogs in shelter.
Someone wanting a dog with a predictable temperament from healthy lineage did not cause another dog to not get adopted.
Someone's meticulous research and support of only the most responsible of breeders is not the problem. It is not what you should be mad at. It is not what you should be pushing the blame onto.
I am not the one who brought these dogs into the world irresponsibly and left them in a shelter. Responsible breeders are not the ones who put dogs into shelters either.
It is my home, my life, and my choice of what kind of dog to bring into it. Maybe I needed a working dog, a sport dog, or simply a companion puppy to raise of a breed I enjoy. No matter the reason, the choice to support a reputable breeder did not send a shelter dog to its death.
A breeder who health tests, temperament tests, studies pedigrees, proves a dog worthy of being bred, and only breeds when doing so is of benefit to the breed is not contributing to the number of homeless dogs.
The number of homeless dogs in the world is a problem, but it is not a problem exacerbated by reputable breeders and those who purchase from them.
Your neighbor down the street who refuses to contain his unaltered dogs IS contributing to the problem.
Your friend who impulse bought a dog at Pet Land IS contributing to the problem.
That guy on Craigslist pumping out the trendiest designer mix as fast as he can IS contributing to the problem.
Your relative who just HAS to let their dog have one litter “so she can experience motherhood” or because “she’s just so sweet” IS contributing to the problem.
Your old high school classmate who bought a high energy working breed without taking the time to research its needs and realize it was not a good fit for their household ahead of time IS contributing to the problem.
A reputable breeder offers their lifelong support.
A reputable breeder would never allow their dogs to end up in a shelter to begin with.
A reputable breeder makes it a contractual obligation to return dogs they have produced back to them should you find yourself unable of keeping it.
It is understandable to be angry about the number of homeless dogs in the world, but if you take a deeper look, you will find your anger is misplaced.
If you take a deeper look, you will find reputable breeders and those of us who purchase from them are just as angry, we are just pointing fingers at the right causes.
In conclusion, Blaming responsible breeders for shelter dogs is like blaming Harvard graduates for crack babies.
Our entire Luna X Duke litter is testing this weekend with San Diego NAVHDA in Seeley CA this weekend! We are so excited for this litter! We were excited before, but with just losing their Papa, these babies are extra close to our hearts!

You have given us countless kisses

Swimming parties with your girl and your boy.
Hunts in the desert.
Being the best dog dad in the whole world.
What I never wanted to document was the end.
You took your last breath laying in my lap.
Your last minutes spent filled with love and affirmations of being the best boy.
We all have that once in a lifetime dog.
Duke was Nicholas’ once in a lifetime.
Duke was my favorite of all time.
I’m grateful to look into his babies’ eyes and see him.
I just wish it were his eyes I was looking into.
With profound sadness, we announce Tall Timbers Duke has been laid to rest.
Under a beautiful misquite tree, where we can sit with him and watch the sunset over the Babocomari Ranch and chase all the scalies, gambles, and mearns he ever wants.
Thank you for touching our hearts. Thank you for giving us the best offspring anyone could ask for. We will cherish you.

Hank is a 2 year old prepping for his UT owned by and Pip and her 2 dads Jake and Jason killed it again in the bird field today… Pip is training for her NA test! She and Jake have something special, I don’t care what Ann says…

Now, Nicholas will have something to say about this I’m sure, but I’m pretty dang proud of what he and I have been able to produce. This was Luna’s first litter! Cannot wait for the rest of these to start rolling in…. 😉

These 3 are doing so well and we love watching them progress (even though Ms Pipsqueak has had more wild birds in her mouth this season than training birds 😂🤣). We still have a black female up for discussion from this litter! Ready for her forever home or she can continue training here through her NA in March!

Took H***h’s Mom and Dad out to see some mearns country and hunt over Utah (half brother) and Virgie (full sister) and these goobers kept playing in the snow 🤦♀️
Carbon copy of his Mama, is off at training for a while! Sway is from our Luna x Mac litter!!! We love seeing to get our puppies grow up! Ruth Weiss is great about sending us updates but especially with our babies from the litter we need together!

If you want to buy a dog and walk away, don’t buy one from me.
If you want to pick a puppy because it came to you when you sat down or gave you a cute look, don’t buy one from me.
If you don’t want to take my recommendations on what food to feed or what is best for the health and well-being of the dog, after years of experience, don’t buy a dog from me.
If you want a puppy in a hurry, because you need it for a Christmas gift or to be in senior pictures, don’t buy one from me.
If you never plan to update me on how the dog is doing, or send a picture once in a while, don’t buy a dog from me.
If you want a dog to live in the backyard, run loose on a farm, and never share time in the house with your family, definitely don’t buy a dog from me.
If you want a lawn ornament, you can buy one made of cement or plaster, not much care needed.
However, if you want a puppy that has parents with health testing, that was socialized, loved, and made a priority from the day it was born. A puppy who’s temperament and activity level has been carefully chosen to fit your lifestyle. A puppy selectively and purposefully bred to the standard set forth by our breed club, then maybe you do want to buy a dog from me.
If you want a breeder who will at any time in the dogs life take them back, no questions asked. A breeder who is there 24/7 for you and your dog for questions and concerns and will work hard to help you resolve any issues. Then you might want to buy a dog from me.
If you want a breeder who loves each puppy/dog with all their heart, considers you part of the family and will laugh or cry with you at any time. Well then, we might be a match.
Reputable breeders should never be lumped in with puppy mills, backyard breeders, or those who broker dogs. A reputable breeder will be able to provide clearances, a five-generation pedigree, an explanation as to why they bred the two dogs. While most of the time they will make little or no money. What money they might get is reinvested into the dogs one way or another.
A reputable breeder knows their dogs and can realistically tell you what to expect and when to guide you toward veterinarians, training facilities, and products that will benefit your dog.
A reputable breeder will be your friend, a guiding hand, and a strong shoulder.
So whatever choice you make, make it with the best interest of the dog in mind and if that’s not your plan, then don’t buy a dog from me.

Luna is back with Nicholas for some much needed relaxation and rest from a fall/early winter filled with puppies and chasing wild birds.
We might just get the rest of these young dogs seasoned before training season starts. Now we transition to hunting weekdays and puppy school on the weekends. We will be at several early NAVHDA tests in a few different states. *Rebecca is actually also running a Copper Canyon Brittanys pup for NA*
We still have 2 black girls up for discussion. Introduced to quail, chukar, and phesant. Started on tracking the pheasant (about 50’ right now). Intro’d to water. DM us for more info and all pedigrees and testing scores. All genetic testing done. This is our last Duke x Luna litter. Duke has officially retired after a wonderful career.
Our little Pipsqueak is off to Puppy class in California with Ann! Itsme heads out Tuesday… Mr Green this weekend. Getting back to normal life around here….

The last Duke X Luna boy…. He is a heart throb!!!
Still playing in the water when it’s 30° out. Uncle Diesel was happy to break the ice for the puppies this morning. They’ve been going out to run around in the cold then come back in and nap till it’s warm enough for them to be out for the day. These kids will have no issues with cold water.
Afternoons are for sleeping when everyone else get back from hunting.

Happy 10th birthday to the big man that started it all for us, Tall Timbers Duke! This dog, if you could even call him that, has changed everyone’s life he ever meets. His family is his everything, especially his Pop’s and best friend in the whole world Nicholas Casler, but this boy will hunt for anyone under the sun. Duke has given us his everything and we cannot thank him enough for his companionship, his endless willingness, his unwavering loyalty, and mostly, his love. The love of a Pudelpointer is something many don’t quite understand. He taught us all exactly how special he is and we have been blessed and honored to carry on his lines with some of the best puppies. Thank you Duke for changing our lives and we all love you so very much!!!! Thank you Tim Rummel for giving us all the opportunity to love such a legend of a dog.
Enjoy retirement old man! You earned it! You gave us some amazing puppies and endless memories of chasing birds. We love you buddy!
