Dahlia getting some spa time. Their time in cross ties. This filly is 3 and was bred and raised by me. She has not been what i call hyper handled therefore she has a great disposition, no vices, and is very willing. She’s by Everdale out of a Kennedy x Freestyle sport mare.

What can we do for you?

Our you g horse development program is based on the individual needs of each horse. We don’t have a textbook manual that all horses have to conform to. We tailor each horses program to their capabilities. Contact us for more info on our custom programs.

How we do what we do.

At Stone Columns Stables we are fortunate to have the very best resources when it comes to anything horse related being located in Lexington Kentucky. For example, at one week old our foals are evaluated by Dr Paasch of Rood and Riddle who specializes in equine conformation. She will make a plan for our farrier Jake Burdine to execute so we can do our very best to ensure each foal has the best start in life for good feet and good conformation. This process continues during the first two years of life here on our farm.

We do broodmares and babies too...

This is Dream Safari (in foal to Cupid, who interestingly enough was foaled in my barn) and her MoTown colt with Nellie Bly and her Tapiture colt in the rear. Yes, we do this too. Taking a limited amount of mares for 2022.

These colts sure do have fun together! One is by Tapiture and the other by MoTown, one dam in foal to Cupid and the other just went to MoTown this morning 🤞

Our Story

Stone Columns Stabes at Elmendorf Farm in Lexington, Kentucky is a premium equestrian facility for the serious competitor and discriminating horse owner, accommodating show horse full care and dry stall rentals for the Kentucky show season, retirement, broodmare and young horse boarding, and rehabilitative layups.

Stone Columns Stables at Elmendorf is named after the four columns remaining from the grande mansion that once stood here called "Green Hills" when the farm was owned by James Ben Ali Haggin. Mr. Haggin was arguably one of the most influential people of the 19th century and his impact is still felt across the bluegrass.

Elmendorf Farm, considered hallowed ground to many, is home to some very famous horses throughout history. Fair Play and Mahubah, sire and dam of Man O War lived here, multiple Kentucky Derby winners, Hall of Famers, and countless Stakes horses graced these fields.

The stone columns atop that hill are a constant reminder of days gone by, and also a challenge to all those who step foot on this farm to become a champion in their own right and take their place in history among these titans.
