Mother of Dogs

Hello everyone and welcome to Paws Are Walking! My name is DaVonna and I am a stay at home wife. My pack consists of 3 dogs, a ball python, a cockatiel, and my husband. Our dogs include 2 English Springer Spaniel’s, Boomer and Lily, and a Great Dane named Frodo. I have many years of experience handling and caring for animals of all shapes and sizes. I was raised with cats and dogs always being in our home. As a young girl, I was very active in 4-H and raised hogs to show at my local fair. As I grew older, I wanted more exotic pets which led to raising rats and eventually owning a snake. During high school, I volunteered at my local animal shelter and Ohio Nature Education. While working at the shelter, I gained valuable knowledge on how to care for different breeds of cats and dogs and also how to administer medications. At Ohio Nature Education, I cared for wild animals that could not be released due to injury or illness. I would also travel to schools and events across central Ohio to teach the public about the different species in our care. All of these wonderful experiences have prepared me for a career in caring for your pets!

I love all critters, but I’m definitely a dog person. I especially love the larger breeds. Great Dane’s are my all-time favorite. In fact, as I’m typing this, my Dane is slobbering all over my keyboard begging for attention! Don’t worry; he will get lots of loving as soon as I’m done. I do not breed discriminate and am willing to care for any animal that will have me! I know that some pets can be finicky, so I am always happy to set up a meet and greet. Unlike a boarding facility, I only take on one dog at a time, or two from the same household, to care for in my home. I am home most of the time, but will walk dogs or do drop-in visits for other clients. If your dog is staying with me for doggy day care or a boarding, I am never away for more than two hours. You can trust that your pet is in good hands while under my care. I am certified in cat and dog first aid and CPR. I am also bonded and insured through Pet Sitter’s Associates.
