4 of 10 dogs in the beginner obedience class are also in prep school. So far we have began learning attention, loose leash walking, sit & place. These kids are ready to do great at school tonight!

Macy is here for a short two week stay. She’s a firecracker in some ways but needs lots of confidence, especially on surfaces. I adore this little lab. She’s a perfect size and I’m delighted to work with her for the next two weeks.

I cannot wait for consistent nice weather! We work outside every chance we get. Today I sprung a field trip on my 11:30am class. We went to the baseball field to work obedience. You must get your dog out to acclimate them to new surroundings. The work done inside the training building should carry over to the real world. Don't box your dog in and help them flourish in life. There's nothing better than a trustworthy companion (at least that's what your dog hopes for).

We can make your dreams come true for a nice walk on leash. We work outside every chance we get. Limiting your training inside of a building will not yield real life results.

Many of these dogs started off pulling, barking and lunging on leash when they began training with us. Nothing is holding you back, except putting in the dedication to train your dog. I am so proud of my students (2 and 4 legged). Take the time and invest in your dog. It’s worth it!

2025 is already well on the way but I wanted to give a shout out to a few teams that really stepped out of their comfort zone in 2024 with their dogs! Every one of of these teams had no understanding or desire to compete in obedience when beginning with me. Nearly all of these dogs had behavioral issues or are still working through them. The "A" class dogs are the ones I love to see in this sport.

Brett and Rex (Boxer) - Brett & Rex earned their Companion Dog title from UKC. Rex was adopted by Brett as an adult male and had high levels of reactivity on leash when he began training with me. Now they are working on open skills and continuing to improve as a team. Brett promised me he'd go for the AKC Novice title this year and his UKC open title. 😁

Victoria and Levon (Australian Shepherd) - Victoria had her UKC companion dog title and went on to AKC to earn her companion dog title in 2024. Showing in obedience is definitely out of her comfort zone and she also promised to work very hard on open exercises in 2025. I am sure we'll be seeing her at AKC and UKC obedience trials in 2025. 😉

Stephanie and Ziggy (Bulldog/Frog mix..best I can come up with) - Stephanie adopted Ziggy and is pushing through training with this adorable boy. She earned her AKC and UKC companion dog titles in 2024! She's working on open for 2025 and promised that Ziggy would fall in love with fetching this year.🤩

Lisa has TWO dogs! Gilbert is a French Bulldog and Griffin is a mini aussie. She got both dogs as pups at the same time (don't worry she knows better now) and has double trouble. Lisa is so committed and I'm insanely proud of her. Griffin is SO close to competing in open. She's put beginner novice titles on both boys and has maybe one more leg for CD with Griffin. They have grown exponentially since beginning classes.

Cyndy and Mischa (Samoyed) - These two took a spin in the obedience ring for the first time and got one leg toward her novice (companion dog) title. I am SURE she will continue and wrap up that title this year. Right Cyndy? 🤓

Jill & Glacier (English Springer Spaniel) - Jill and Glacier have earned their AKC CD and CDX (novice and open). This young boy is going places. He also is an exceptional hunting dog. Jill's dedication is pretty special. I am so happy she's got the obedience bug!

Amanda and Maisie (Mini American Shepherd) - This team is TWO LEGS away from their AKC UDX title. My first team in years to go that far. It's hard! Her little redhead is also ranked as a top mini american shepherd in the USA on AKC reports. Oh, and she has OTCH points and was invited to the 2025 National Obedience Competition!!! I guess we'll see what 2025 brings for this special team! 🥳 Thank you to all of you for the memories and the destination yet unknown for all of us.

Our next Prep School for January 6th is full. These always fill well in advance of the start date. If you are getting a new puppy and want to start our next round is February 17th. Let us help you get your puppy off to a great start. We have a new puppy class & beginner obedience class starting in January. Beginner obedience is nearly full and the next round will be 6 weeks out.

**Puppy class is for ages 16 weeks and under.
**Beginner obedience is for 16 weeks and over.
