Bergseite Training center Bergseite Training Center specializes in Board and Train, on and off leash obedience. Every puppy/dog is a member of our family!!

We are the only training camp where dogs receive 100%, 24/7 functional obedience in the home. We are a small Training center located in Taylorsville NC, right at the edge of the Brushy mountains(mountain side-"Bergseite"). Here your dogs will learn the basics in obedience all the way up to competition level. We provide a family atmosphere for training that your dogs will thrive in. Whether you jus

t want some help with fine tuning your dogs skills, or you want to compete with your dog in AKC/Schutzhund Obedience. We can get you and your dog to that level. We take dogs of all breeds and all ages.

My job is not simply to train your dog. That's truly the easiest part. Your dog can have all the skills in the world. None of it matters if you don't have teamwork with your dog. Owners must become handlers!! THAT is my job. To teach you to NOT need me!! To give you the skills needed to continue moving forward with your dog for years to come!! How it all started!! This was the dog that changed my life!! Otchi Vom Warringhof had everything a competitive handler could ask for. She always pushed me to become a better handler and ultimately made my decision to continue dog training full time. We competed regionally, nationally, and internationally(IDC 2019 Budapest) before retiring her to live out her days lounging in the sun and chasing rabbits on the property. She's also the mother to Fat Tony and Arya.

Ms. Ivy!! Towards the end, the change of environment is everything. Constantly setting our expectations in different environments helps secure the exercise. Heeling in your neighborhood is not the same as heeling downtown. We must give them the experience they need to be confident in different settings.

Off leash work in Home Depot with Oz!!

Mr Linus is working so hard!! Forging ahead Is a common issue with dogs. Here are a couple of tricks to fixing it!!

Day 1 with Charlie went great!! Time to get that step count in!!

We've had such a long week!! It's time for a break, Ms. Ivy. Movie night and some cuddles!!❤️

For many dogs, building confidence is the most important thing to focus on. They have the obedience skills needed to be successful. But without confidence, they will struggle to move forward. This confidence comes from experience. Experience in new environments. Experience with their handler. Most importantly, they need to see a confident handler guide them through the stress. Waiting on the other side is more confidence!!

We have started off leash work with Oz today. Overall, he did great!! His position was good, he was able to ignore distractions, and he was able to stay calm in a new environment. Those are big steps for future work!!

Roo is unstoppable!!

Down/stay seems pretty boring honestly. But teaching a dog to settle in new environments can be challenging. It takes a lot of confidence or trust in me to do this. Roo is in the home stretch for her training!!

I picked up my man Ranger today!!

This is how we approach the stay exercise. Regardless of the environment, we approach this exercise the same. The more we change the environment, the more secure the exercise becomes. Roo is getting a different environment daily to prepare her for her life in NYC. This little puppy has blown me away in everything she does!!

We took a quick trip to Asheville today. So, Ms. Roo Roo got an opportunity to work in a new city with lots of distractions!! Traffic is always the biggest factor for all of my NY clients. So we are pushing hard!!
