Waiting on her boyfriend. Did you know that the Asheville Dog Company occasionally breeds working line German Shepherds? Of course we do extensive health and temperament testing on our females and only breed to males whose owners do the same. This is Ctirad Vom Slep FH IGP3 multiple times. She was top 3 at the 2021 Southeast Regionals, multiple times National Competitor and just an all around awesome female. Her Boyfriend is no slouch and we'll post more about him in a future post. 30 days from today we'll know if puppies are on the way!!

I get a lot of people that ask me, "what does heel mean?" Put simply, heel is where your dog is directly next to and paying attention. If you're moving, the dog keeps his shoulder next to your leg and moves with you, when you stop your dog should sit automatically. It's not as hard as you might think to teach but you have to have a system. Want to learn more about heel and other awesome dog obedience? Check out our website and reach out!

On the topic of Bernadoodles that terrorize their owners 🤦‍♂️ Here is Charlie showing off his PLACE command. It's hard to believe that Charlie has gone from dragging his owner to the ground to being able to do an off leash place command with a guest is quite the turn around.

Zeke has been here for several weeks doing a board and train. With temps this week above 90 it’s important to know how to help your dog in certain situations like heat stroke. You are their first responders. If you don’t know canine CPR, learn it. It’s not that hard and there’s plenty of videos available. For excessive temperature get those dogs wet and keep them wet. As the info reads, the worst thing to do for heat stroke is nothing. Keep your furry friends safe!!
