Thanksgiving morning starts quiet and slow,
With my dog at my feet in the fire’s soft glow.
She leans on my leg as if to say,
“I’m thankful for you, every single day.”
In the kitchen she watches with calm, steady grace,
Warm light reflecting in her patient face.
She needs no words, no pleading paws—
Just love wrapped gently in soft, furry flaws.
When dinner begins and the table is full,
She curls beside me, peaceful and loyal.
One little treat, then a pat on her head—
A silent promise, tenderly said.
After the meal, in the cool evening air,
We stroll through leaves that whisper and flare.
She stops to gaze up, as if she knows—
These simple moments are the ones that glow.
And when night drapes quiet across the room,
She sighs in that way that melts all gloom.
Thanksgiving means many things, it’s true—
But the sweetest one is sharing it
With you.
Happy Thanksgiving to you ALL!
