Our tiny 5 lbs, 3 year old chihuahua came out of local facility and is heading to the foster home…
She will need to be spayed and needs supplies before she will be ready for adoption.

Let’s welcome Enkidu to Furfriends family. He is a 1 year old Pekingese mix pup.
He was rescued this morning from an Oregon facility and is on his way to his foster home now 😍

He will need supplies, cherry eye surgery on both eyes, and neuter before he can go up for adoption.

Dear Creator of all life,
We come to you with heavy hearts, seeking your mercy and protection for the innocent animals affected by the California wildfires.

You who see the sparrow fall, who crafted every creature with care and purpose, we ask you to extend your divine protection over the wildlife, farm animals, and beloved pets caught in this devastation. Shelter them in your loving arms and guide them to places of safety.

For the animals who flee in fear, grant them paths of escape and strength to carry on. For those injured or trapped, we pray for rescue and healing. For those who have perished, may they rest in peace, free from pain and suffering.

Bless the people who risk their lives to save them—the firefighters, rescuers, and compassionate souls who open their homes and hearts. Grant them courage, strength, and the resources they need to continue their efforts.

Calm the winds, bring the rain, and subdue the flames. Restore balance to the land so that all living beings may thrive once more in harmony.

May we, as stewards of this earth, be ever mindful of our responsibility to care for your creation. Teach us to live with greater reverence for the interconnectedness of all life and to take action to protect our planet and its creatures.

With the holidays we have been kind of slow on updates, but we wanted to let everyone know that our long time resident Reese was adopted and he is doing amazingly well with his new momma. We are so happy. 😍

Sometimes it just takes a little longer to find the right match.
He is such a sensitive guy he needed the right kind of energy at home, so he can feel safe.
Have a great life together ❤️❤️❤️

The frigid weather is fast approaching. We have had it easy so far this winter. Now, the temperature will be dropping, and there are several possibilities of snow in the next several days.

Please remember to watch your dogs while they are outside in the cold. Don't walk away and leave them out for an extended period.
Even Huskies need to be checked on and since they are acclimated to the weather you live in, it doesn’t mean that will be okay in freezing temperatolures.

If you see an animal struggling, please do something. Don't look the other way. If you can help, please do.

Update on Calli from her adopter:

“Calli did great on a 4 mile walk today. She is starting to do really well when passing calm dogs.
Happy Sunday!! Hope you guys are having a wonderful New Year!
She loves rock climbing!!”

❤️ Sweet Tiny is ready for adoption (within 2 hours of Portland OR)❤️
She is such a sweet little girl and so beautiful. Very gentle soul.
She loves walks, but also loves to cuddle with her favorite person. She greets strangers with a tailwag….
Tiny is 7 years old, weighs 15 lbs, loves people, good with kids, but prefers seniors (as she lived with a senior person who passed away). She would do best as only animal at home.

Update on Paisley from foster mom:

“Paisley is a champion napper, gets along with other people and dogs, sleeps with me in bed at night. She loves walks and can walk around blocks. She’s a little cold - adjusting from LA, and eats a lot.
When she wakes she’ll p*e right away, outside if you put her there, on a pad if it’s there, but if it’s not then anywhere. She’s old and if she has to go, she has to go...😂👍”

Update:
Well our little angel had a few surprises...she has uti and her teeth were actually bad 10 extractions some panels pending...f***l neg...blood ok except white bc of urine and teeth...nothing in tummy so that's good and thyroid normal

Little Max was adopted right before New Years. We are so happy for him and his new family. He is getting along with everyone so great, like he was meant to be there…He is part of a family now 😍

After a long awaited adoption, Reese has found his furever momma. He did so good meeting her, it was instant connection.
We are so thrilled for both of them

Little Parker is feeling stronger and more alert. He is doing good
He had some 💩 issues because he was very dehydrated, but that’s all better now. He is drinking a lot of formula, eating like a champ! 🤩

In case you didn’t know, black dogs are most likely to not leave alive from (so called) “shelters”. They are least likely to be adopted or rescued.
Merry was rescued today from one of those kill facilities in CA.
She came into the facility with a buddy, who was adopted, but little Merry was left behind very sad and scared.

When our volunteer saw her, she came up wagging her tail with her eyes begging “please take me, please don’t go…help me!!!”
So we said “yes”.

As most of the dogs we save, (we take the unwanted, seniors, dogs with medical issues, the thrown away dogs, dogs dumped in parking lots and on the side of roads in the middle of nowhere, tiny bottle babies, abused, forgotten and neglected, dogs who’s owners die, or are too I’ll to care for them….it’s not easy, but that is what rescue is about,
and this girl met many of these things.
She is a senior, 10 years old, left behind, forgotten…with quite a few medical issues…lease likely to be saved.

Merry is very sweet little lady.
She went to the vet today and doctor sent out the labs, including respiratory panel, cardio panel, f***l, urine etc.... Her heart seems ok. She has a very mild 1 or 2 out 6 murmur. Considering that her dental is deemed “moderate disease”, we are glad her heart seems strong and after dental it usually improves. The X-rays of her body are ok, except a tiny small something in tummy, could be food or gallbladder stone or bone fragment, so she will have ultrasound in the morning on empty stomach.
She got rabies vac, so is now fully vaccinated.
Merry has some dry skin, so she had a medicated bath. She is already confirmed spayed. Her eyes seem fine. She also got her nails trimmed.
This is the beginning of her new life….

Tater seems to be feeling pretty good.
The foster has to keep him in the crate because she cant get him to lay in his bed. 😆 He wants to be up walking.
He's not happy he's in the crate, but crate rest is imperative to proper recovery from surgery. 😊👍
