Tips ✅ from Lindsey (K9 Revamped Owner & Training and While Your R Away Manager WA Location) Socialization/Exposure Everyone talks about needing to socialize your dog/puppy with other dogs, however the purpose gets lost amongst many dog owners. The goal ✅is that your dog has positive experiences with other dogs and learns how to peacefully coexist and how to appropriately greet and interact with other dogs. How to walk by dogs calmly and be neutral to their environment. They learn how to feel safe around other dogs. Why does that matter? ➡️Because if we only teach our dogs that other dogs equal excessive play time, adrenaline and excitement…it leads to things like reactivity. How do we do this? Here are just a few ways: 1. Go on organized walks with a trainer and/or experienced handlers (intro’s and first experiences must be positive and neutral - make sure this is done correctly)2. Find neutral and well socialized dogs for your dog to interact with…3. If you don’t have anyone you know that fits this description, contact us - with any questions you may have and we can steer you in the right direction4. Trainer owned and operated K9 Revamped uses balanced training methods to ensure every dog has the opportunity to thrive and live their best life.➡️Note: reactive are able to work and walk in pack walks 🛑How not to socialize your dog:🛑Taking your dog to a dog park to “socialize” is not the way to do it. You don’t know those dogs and the dog park is filled with adrenaline and inappropriate behavior.Letting your dog say Hi to every person and dog they come across. To get started contact Lindsey 💻 [email protected]📞 (360) 900-8717
