Members of the Humane Society of Branch were voluntarily "in the dog house" Saturday night to raise awareness for animals in need.

Hillsdale County Sheriff Scott Hodshire awarded Humane Society of Branch County Director Jan Nageldinger with a Civilian Recognition Award.

$75 off already reasonable prices! Fix those Pits! Our local animal control has been overwhelmed with pitbulls and pit mixes. All of the stray dogs from Branch and Hillsdale Counties come to Branch County so in an effort to help, The Humane Society has teamed up with Animal Aid of Branch County and Branch Area Rescue Coalition (BARC) the low cost spay and neuter program and Refurbished Pets of Southern Michigan. We have all donated money to help with this project. If you have a pit or pit mix please call the BARC program and for the first 100 dogs you can get a voucher to get at least $75 off from the already discounted price. This program is just for pit/pitmixes from Branch or Hillsdale Counties at this time. Thank you!!! 517-227-7288.

Beagle Rescue Medical Fund. As many of you know, the Humane Society of Branch County rescued 24 dogs thst were living in horrific conditions from a residence in Hillsdale this past week... 6 of these dogs are heart worm positive and donations are needed. The medical bill for the vetting and care for just this rescue will be a few thousand dollars. Instead of purchasing a $20 bag of food please consider donating the $20 towards the medical care concerning these rescued beagles... Funds to cover medical costs is what the shelter really needs. Jan Nageldinger, shelter manager, works endlessly to help these animals. If we could get a few of you to help her know her efforts are worth it by donating to the medical bill. The shelter now has 51! dogs and is overwhelmed. Lenawee Humane Society has stepped up and is taking 6-7 of the healthy dogs to help free up space and resources so HSBC can breathe a little bit... If you can't afford a small monetary gift, please consider becoming a volunteer to help walk, bathe and socialize the precious pups...Enjoy this round one video of the dogs available for adoption... Please come out and support local animal organizations for the US12 sales this weekend. Between Clinton and Saline, in Harry’s furniture store, 2 great non profit organizations will be there. The sale and available food will benefit Happy Hearts Feline Rescue and Kat Snips. It has been difficult this year for all nonprofit organizations to raise funds. We have stocked 3,000 sq ft full of your new treasures. It is air conditioned!! 10645 W Michigan Ave in Saline.
