As we close another year and begin the next, we wanted to share a recap of this past year and our progress. Currently there are 6 horses and a miniature donkey who reside with us. Calls and investigations continue to come in on a regular basis and we enjoy working with and meeting new people. The final gates were set on the new addition as well as posts and fence along and through the pond. Once additional trees are removed, the horses will be able to enjoy the additional space. The north pasture was reseeded and an extremely nice run-in was set- -the Frank Buchanan, Sr Memorial Shelter. Finally, 10 feeding stations have been built in both lots for convenience of feeding by volunteers. We couldn’t continue to make upgrades and enhancements without the financial support of those who donate but also our wonderful service providers. We’d like to take the time to thank them…John Ray, Ray’s Backhoe; Steve Bunnage, Bunnage Farms; Ronnie Wright & the staff at Kincaids; Beau Tatum, Beau’s Tree Service; Wayne County Juvenile Probation; Wayne County Soil & Water; and David Buchanan, Buchanan Farms. We are looking forward to the new year, continued progress and providing service to Wayne and surrounding counties.

Wishing a Happy New Year to all our Friend’s & Supporters!🎉

5 years ago today, we were officially licensed by the Illinois Department of Agriculture as a horse rescue. Many phone calls, messages, miles and horses later and we are still here thriving to serve our community. We have been blessed by groups and volunteers, clubs and organizations that have assisted us and allowed us the opportunity to share the need for such facilities throughout not only our local community, but state and country as well. Today as we mailed all of our numerous documents for renewal, it was a time of reflection for what we have been able to do, but also what is to come. The brochure that is shared is just a very small piece of what has been accomplished. We would encourage you to continue to follow us in the coming months as we share updates and information. But, most of all, "Thank You" for the continued support and encouragement.

Last year brought more investigations & working horses running at large so it’s been awhile since we’ve been able to share a rescue. Today we brought this beautiful mare in as an owner surrender. She’s a 21 1/2 year old blind bay. She has a white blaze on her face & fetlocks on her legs. We were told that she lost her sight in an accident & has resided with her current owner as a pasture pet since. She is very gentle, halters, leads, loads & trailers well. She will be available for adoption in 2 weeks. Introducing…May.
