Latchkey appointments explained!

Did you know that our mobile service offers latchkey appointments? Actually, a large portion of our mobile clients prefer them! After the first appointment with our mobile team we are able to just come and groom your pup while you do whatever you need to do (school, work, errands, etc.).

We are just like your house cleaner, dog walker or yard people. We can enter with a code or key, groom your pup and return them. You can leave check or cash out or pay online.

We only ask that your pup is quarantined to a crate, room or small section of your house for the appointment so we don’t go on a wild goose chase! ❤️

The wait is over! For now. Today we contacted all 60+ pups on our mobile waiting list to let them know our books are opening in October! All 5 vans will be back on the road and ready to provide our luxury at-your-door service. We do anticipate only having open books for a short time based on our lengthy waiting list.

As a reminder, all mobile clients are required to have open availability. We can not promise certain times/days and base our schedule off of routing and frequency needed. Additionally, mobile clients are required to stay on a 4-8 week regular schedule.

Why is regular grooming important for all dogs?

- We can notice changes in your dogs skin sometimes before you can. Dogs are groomed at our eye level. We use a dryer which separates hair so we can see all the way down to your dogs skin all over their body. Often we will see changes, rashes, new moles or dark spots, moles that change shape, dry skin, bruises, etc. We tell all of our clients when we notice anything different so they can address it with their veterinarian.

- A dogs protective outer coat works best for keeping them warm and cool if we remove dead undercoat and dead skin. No matter the weather it’s healthiest to remove dead undercoat. That undercoat traps bacteria against your dog’s skin which can cause hot spots and restricts new hair growth.

- Regular grooming can help keep your pet socialized and a positive grooming experience can even help your pet behave better at the vet and around other people. During grooming we ask your pup to allow us to be able to touch them all over. They are exposed to different noises and situations that are not “normal” for a dog that isn’t maintained. One of the many reasons why we recommend grooming very early in their life!

- Grooming can keep your home a cleaner and more healthy environment . Dogs can keep yucky bacteria in their coat for several days (salmonella, E. coli, viruses). Your dog most likely shares your couch, bed and favorite chair. Regular, thorough grooming can keep your entire family safer. Especially during flu season!

- Dogs that shed lightly are the most at risk for matting, hair growing into places it shouldn’t be (check out your pups face often. Is there hair growning toward their eyes?), ear infections and gland infections. These dogs (looking at you oodle pet owners!) need not only regular, proper brushing at home, but professional grooming appointments every 4-8 weeks. It doesn’t matter if they are tangle free at the moment. Anything poodle, poodle mix or any variation of light shedding type dog could be subject to pain and blood restriction from a lack of regular, professional grooming.

- Nail care is extremely important! Overgrown nails are not just unsightly and noisy. When your pet’s nails are long it changes the healthy anatomy of their foot. Long nails can cause extra stress for their joints by changing the angle that they place their foot on the ground.

There are several more reasons that regular grooming services are recommended and necessary. We wanted to touch on a few that you may have not thought of. We have the privilege of continually helping you provide the best care for your well loved pet and we thank you for the opportunity! Besides, who wouldn’t want the most adorable pup on the block?!

Hello Everyone! This is a 9 year old Pittie Mix named Iris. She has been brought to our attention by one of our employees. She needs a good home for Christmas. Iris would best be suited in an only dog home. She does get along well with children and adults, but isn’t super fond of other animals. Iris is spayed and healthy.
