Welcome to LPAC, a NO-Kill, 501(c)3 nonprofit organization located in Battle Ground, IN. My name is Teresa Fee; I am the Founder, ED & President of Loving Paws Animal Center, Inc. I have rescued animals for 16+ years in Indiana, Florida, North Carolina, Kentucky, Ohio, and on August 19th 2018 I picked up 4 senior feral boys from UPAWS in Michigan. We are so sad that Junior Bug, Baby & McGuyver have passed and their brother Bootsie is recovering from a stroke. I have always loved animals since young; especially, feral cats, those that are ill, pregnant/nursing, injured, and/or of senior age.
At LPAC, our focus is to help provide medical attention & rehabilitation in a loving, respectful and attentive family environment. We offer both temporary & lifelong programs to homeless kitties in need. This includes stray/feral & confiscations from hoarding situations.
Our goal is to “change the world for animals in need!” With dedication, understanding, patience and a whole lot of love; feral cats of all ages can be transformed. I have immense respect and love for feral kitties. They truly are incredible creatures that deserve just as much as cuddly, hand/house-raised kitties. Often times, feral cats require a long process to build trust. Although, not all become adoptable pets; they still have formed bonds they otherwise wouldn’t have had if it wasn’t for the passion and compassion we have for them. We created our lifelong program, not only for the ill and seniors; but to offer a forever place to call home with a family that understands feral/under-socialized kitties. We work hard to rehabilitate & socialize kitties, so that they can live comfortably indoors & even those that may remain outside. Here at LPAC, we strongly believe and participate in TNR, and provide adequate housing for those that continue living in the outdoor elements. Those that remain outside still receive human contact, all necessities the indoor kitties get, and medical attention as needed. Every furry face is spayed/neutered, receives FVRCP & rabies vaccines, as well as flea treatments, and de-wormed. Occasionally, we receive kitties that are FIV/FeLV tested, when recommended by our veterinarians. Many kitties adopted from LPAC are ear-tipped, because they were deemed non-adoptable at time of spay/neuter. We fight for every kitty that joins Loving Paws and we do not put limits on the medical care they need & deserve.
We do not offer the “Barn Program” that most other shelters/rescues have. We are the barn program for feral kitties and/or cats that do not meet adoption requirements. The best interests of all furry face residence in our care is a top priority. Their comfort matters and we make sure they are placed in either a home with a new family and/or our rescue home with LPAC’s family. No matter their lifetime of needs; they will receive it with your family or ours.
Loving Paws Animal Center does NOT accept owner surrendered pets, unless transferred to us from another animal rescue group; according to our intake guidelines & if funding & space is available.
Our future center will be designed for both adoptable and non-adoptable residence. LPAC's future center will provide space for feral cats; as they are not easily socialized/rehabilitated to be indoor family pets, felines needing immediate shelter which includes transfers from other shelters/rescues, fur-babies in need of medical attention due to illness or injuries, pregnant/nursing, orphaned kittens, retirement/hospice care, and/or kitties confiscated from hoarding situations.
As Loving Paws Animal Center grows, we will begin saving furry faces from scheduled death sentences at high-kill shelters; as well as long-time sheltered pets.
LPAC provides lifelong housing and medical care to non-adoptable cats. Those that reside with us typically have specific behaviors that make it difficult to place them in forever homes, and/or their medical condition(s) are on-going and costly. Some of these fur-babies may just be too old and best left in our lifelong care.
Spaying and neutering your family pet(s) is a great way to help reduce the overpopulation of animals. Not only will it help with behaviors in cats & dogs, as well as their need to mark their territory; they live happier, healthier and often, longer lives. Altered animals are less likely to contract deadly, contagious diseases too. Please be sure to also have your pets vaccinated (age/health appropriate) and properly tested for contagious diseases if necessary. This too is vital to providing them a quality of life.
Approximately, 2.7 million animals are euthanized a year. Spay/Neutered animals will help decrease the number of animals that are killed. It costs more to care for a litter of kittens or puppies, than it would to have them fixed. One female dog and her offspring can produce 67,000 puppies in a 6 year period. While a cat and her offspring can produce a large amount of 370,000 in seven years. These numbers are outrageous and growing. It's time to help make a difference in the lives of our family pets and our community of homeless furry friends.
LPAC isn’t only compassionate about animals in need. We are also compassionate toward individuals that suffer from mental & emotional disorders. We believe in the benefits and connections of an ESA (Emotional Support Animal). Therefore, we will work hard to match qualified clients with a furry best friend. These particular cases of adoption must have a letter from their Primary Care Physical and/or Psychologist/Psychiatrist stating they are capable of caring for their adopted companion individually or with the help of a caretaker. Our number one priority is the safety & continued care of our rescued pets.
Pets for Veterans & Officers, Firemen, EMTs, etc! We at LPAC have much respect for all the amazing men & women that risk their lives to protect ours. Loving Paws will offer discounted adoption fees for those that have served & protected our families. Thank You!
ADOPTION PROCESS
At LPAC we take adoption very serious. Because the majority of our felines have been in our rehabilitation/socialization program for extended periods of time due to neglect, illness and/or feral tendencies; we do things a bit differently than some of the other rescue groups/shelters. To help keep our furry face residence less stressed, kept from retracting positive learned behaviors, comfortable within their surroundings, and properly portrayed adoption worthy; we show how amazing they are in photos and videos with detailed profiles and meet & greets. This allows hopeful adopters to see each feline in his/her environment. We suspect, that most of our kitties have never been in a home until entering LPAC. We have a high intake rate of feral cats, as well as rehabilitation. Everything we do for each kitty is in a family oriented environment. This offers the opportunity to properly test them for behaviors with children, males, females, cats and dogs of all sizes, ages and personalities. This allows us to better learn their individual needs for a happy future. We hope that you understand our need to protect the well-being of our extraordinary kitties and find our adoption process to be in their best interest.
If you are interested in one or two of our furry faces, please follow the adoption process steps below. Be sure to only apply for available kitties. As we often showcase many that are in our lifelong program.

POLICIES
Loving Paws Animal Center, Inc. has a "NO" declaw policy. No feline should be declawed for any reason, unless due to injury or non-treatable infection that is vet recommended with a second opinion. Declawing a kitty has eight side effects and most of which are long-term. This includes: back pain, infection, refusal to use the litter box, paw pain and nerve damage, lameness, joint pain, and behavioral changes. Felines use their claws for balance, grooming, self-defense, hunting, marking territory, alleviate boredom, and exercise. Please do NOT declaw your adopted family member.
Loving Paws Animal Center, Inc. has an "INDOOR" only policy. No feline should be left outside or an indoor/outdoor family pet. Over 90% of our rescues were saved from the outdoor elements. They have been rehabilitated and socialized according to each one of their previous living situations. Felines have a better chance in life being indoors. They are less likely to contract contagious diseases; they live happier, healthier and safer lives being in the home with their family. Please do NOT put your adopted furry family member outside.
Loving Paws Animal Center, Inc. has a "return" to rescue policy. If you at any time are unable to keep your adopted pet, please contact LPAC. No animal adopted through LPAC should be taken to another rescue/shelter, re-homed, given away, sold, or adopted out to a family member, friend or stranger at any time, for any reason.
Loving Paws Animal Center, Inc. requires "renters" to have landlord approval prior to adoption. For the protection of our pets, all renters must submit a signed approval form to LPAC. These forms can be emailed and/or faxed directly to the Leasing Agent.
Loving Paws Animal Center, Inc. has an "ability to care for" policy for all Emotional Support Animal (ESA) adoptions. We will require your primary care physician (P*P); unless you have certified documentation, to sign our approval form that you are capable of caring for your adopted ESA either alone or with the help of a caretaker.
LPAC's adoption fees are non-refundable.
We want to thank all of you that believe in our vision; our mission. We cannot do this without an army of supporters!! We hope that you will consider our cause worthy of continued support.
