Even if your indoor pet rarely ventures outside, they are still susceptible to risks when they step out briefly. For dogs that enjoy outdoor activities, the threat of mosquito bites is even higher. This is why we strongly recommend annual heartworm testing and year-round preventive medication, which also guards against fleas and ticks. Unfortunately, in our area, the cold weather doesn't last long enough to eliminate these insects, so even during winter, your furry friend remains at risk of mosquito bites.

April is Heartworm Awareness Month !

Heartworm disease is a serious and potentially life-threatening illness that can affect dogs, cats, and even ferrets. It is transmitted through mosquito bites, and if left untreated, it can cause damage to the heart and lungs.

LUCKILY, these nasty parasites can be kept at bay with an annual heartworm preventative screening with your veterinarian and an easy and affordable preventative treatment; given either monthly, every 6 months, or every 12 months.
