Got the puppies out today for the first time before it gets too cold. Penny has done a great job but she’s ready to get back to work. Excited to have her back in the rotation soon!

Penny’s x-rays yesterday showed 9 possibly 10 puppies. We are a week away from her due date! Message me if you’re interested in a Christmas puppy from this great breeding

We got the great news yesterday and it’s confirmed that Penny is pregnant!

BDC SMx4 CH Diamond Flush King of Diamonds MH x BDC POY ‘22 NC WCx2 SMx4 CHSD HR Dirty Prairie’s A Wish Come True. Both dogs have a long list of accomplishments in the field and also live with our families and other dogs. They are both great upland and waterfowl dogs. Sal weighs 55 lbs and Penny weighs 38 pounds. These puppies will be on the smaller side so they should be able to last longer in the field daily and over their lifetime. Both dogs have great hunt test and tournament hunting pedigrees.

I hope to own a lot more dogs over my lifetime but I will be surprised if I own a better upland dog than Penny. She has speed, control, stamina, a great nose, bird tracking ability, a great marker, and she has zero quit. I ask a lot of her in guide season and she performs at the highest level day in and day out.

The fall BDC Super Majors were a huge success for the DPK dogs and our doubles crew. For how consistent these dogs have been running at such a young age, they have a very bright future in the sport.

Now it’s time to get the dogs in shape for guiding, finish up some dogs in training, and hopefully get ready for a litter of pups!

The 2024 season is right around the corner! With the summer crew finishing up, I will have some training spots available this fall. We offer shed antler, upland, waterfowl, and obedience training. It’s also the perfect time for anyone looking for a preseason tune up.

Another title to their names BDC WC SM CHSD HR Dirty Prairie’s Bacardi at Sunrise MH and BDC POY ‘22 NC WCx2 SMx3 CHSD HR Dirty Prairie’s A Wish Come True. Cardi and Penny finished off their HR titles this past weekend at the WISILL HRC hunt test with both dogs going 4/4. Time to switch gears and get ready for fall tournaments

Happy 3rd birthday to our little rocket BDC ‘22 POY NC WCx2 SMx3 Dirty Prairie’s A Wish Come True (Penny). It’s been so much fun owning this dog since the first day we got her. So many miles on the road and in the field together. Time goes by so fast, but that’s the way she likes it! Let’s keep this thing rolling little girl

Brandie (Cardi x Cowboy) is back for training. Can’t wait to see how this spitfire turns out. Hopefully she’s ready in time to help out with the big quail challenge next month and possibly become a tournament dog

The girls have a couple days of much needed rest over Christmas. I’ve been trying to keep track of all the upland birds Penny has flushed and retrieved over her lifetime. At this rate she should reach 10,000 birds by the age of 3! Fortunate to own such an amazing dog. I think all the dogs will get a few extra treats tomorrow morning. Merry Christmas!
