Our Youth Champions in the Beukelman Buckle Series are three talented youth cowgirls, led by the 1D Champion, Taylor McGregor. Taylor jockeyed her mare, FK Country Girl (affectionately known as Fat Amy) to three checks over the series. The McGregor trailer is always filled with tough horses and nice kids.

The 4D in the Beukelman Buckle Series at the Lucky Penny Barrel Races in Mitchell, SD ended in a TIE between 2 dedicated barrel racers, both from Mitchell. Tricia Oswald and her horse, River, have attended all 4 races and brought her boys for the PeeWees each time too. April Herbst's good horse, Rave, was laid up this year, but her old faithful, Texas, stepped up to help April win the buckle. April Is one of my right-hand women in production of the barrel race. I can always count on her to help out without being asked.

The folks at Beukelman and Associates really outdid themselves when they offered to sponsor the year-end buckles. We are so greatly appreciative of their kindness. The 3D Champion for the Beukelman Buckle Series at the Lucky Penny Barrel Races In Mitchell, SD is none other than Shana Lensing Trish Hutchinson Lensing. I've seen Shana barrel racing all summer on her good horse, Nike, but was surprised to hear she's fairly new to the sport. Like I said, this kid has BIG things ahead of her.

You can still enter on-site, but will be in the late draw. If we have LESS than 75 barrel racers, we will have a second run with youth side pot. THAT will have to be entered on-site.

Updated flier for the 2021 Mitchell, SD Summer Barrel Racing series. Please update your calendars!!! I'd like to welcome Riley Baade and Bailey Moody to the barrel racing production circus! We will be cancelling the June 26th run and the August 14th run but thanks to Bailey and Riley, we are adding runs on WEDNESDAY, MAY 26TH and WEDNESDAY, JUNE 23RD. Also, a HUGE thank you to Beukelman & Associates Inc - American Family Insurance (you sang that, didn't you?) for the sponsorship of 7 BUCKLES for year end awards!!!!
