Forget Blanche & Dorothy, Goldy is the REAL golden girl! ⭐️

Goldy loves to just sit with you for pets & scratches. Getting things done around the house, Goldy is there to supervise or help as needed! Sous chef? Bathroom attendent? Need a dog to make sure you are separating your colors & whites? Goldy is there! Don’t let her age fool you she is a spry and happy girl! 💛

Goldy was in a large, over capacity shelter and was at risk of being euthanized 😢MHLRM could not let this sweet girl end her days in a shelter so we grabbed her and now she is in Colorado getting ready for her next adventure!  Goldy is an absolute sweetheart!

Goldy thinks hanging out with 🐶 friends is just fine. She’s not sure about her more rambunctious foster brother, but tolerates his shenanigans like a respectable lady. She could exist as your one and only or with another respectable dog friend 🐕

It’s very clear Goldy would love to be a part of a famiy and part of the action. 
She rides great in the 🚗(hops right in!) and sits nicely for treats 🍖 very food motivated! She is housetrained and seem uninterested in items that don’t belong to her (except whatever meal you might be eating) 😂She prefers to keep her walks for sniffing and to do her business in her fenced yard. She puts herself to bed in her pen at night and not a peep until it’s morning (and breakfast time — her favorite start to the day! The Best!!

Goldy is heartworm positive, but treatment is very successful and completely manageable with all the proper education. MHLRM will cover the expense of treatment at one of our approved veterinarians. Heartworm positive dogs go on to live happy, normal lives after treatment and rarely experience long-term side effects. Don’t let this stop you from adopting Goldy!

We can’t believe Richie the pug is still available for adoption!

Foster mom says Richie is SO easy ✨ She was nervous to foster a small dog for the first time, especially after only having Labs, but sweet Richie has been a perfect gentleman 🥰

Richie is a chill, cuddly guy. He will stare at you with his puppy dog eyes until you give in and cuddle him ❤️ How could anyone resist?!

He is crate trained and housebroken 👏🏼 and unlike a lot of pugs, he rarely barks 🤩 Richie enjoys going on walks to see the neighborhood and meet new people. He’s great on leash!

Richie found his way to MHLRM after he was given away for free on Nextdoor 😠 A Good Samaritan grabbed Richie to make sure he didn’t end up in the wrong hands.

They reached out to several pug rescues for help but they were all over capacity. You know the animal situation is bad when a city is overflowing with unwanted pure pugs! 💔

We’re so happy Richie is now an honorary lab. We can’t wait to see what’s next for him!

My name is Sunny! 🌞 I’m slowly learning the world isn’t such a scary place. I’m nervous in new situations but foster mom says I am so brave & the sweetest most trusting boy!

I LOVE cheese 🧀 my foster parents give me lots, helps me feel comfortable in new situations. I love living in a home with comfy dog beds rather than outside in the TX heat.  

I’m still figuring toys 🧸 but am very interested.  I like following my foster family around & hang under my foster dad’s desk while he works 💻I will need some patience & love to conquer my fears but will blossom into a wonderful loving dog with time.  

I’m from TX & was living with a lot of dogs. We were living outside in trash & debris and were confiscated from our owner.  MHLM brought us here live the CO life!  I have some scars but am ready to put the past behind me and trust humans.  

I have lived my whole life with other dogs 🐶 & find comfort in having them around. I’ve also been in foster homes with other dogs and though I’m not playful, quite yet I love having them around.  I’m happy to share toys, food, water with my foster siblings

I can get spooked by loud noises & fast movements but am sweet and submissive so would likely love gentle kids. I will just need some time to feel comfortable.

I know to do my business outside & LOVE my crate! It’s my safe space & I’m perfectly content in the crate when my foster parents leave the house. I am quiet and don’t bark.  Also, the perfect car 🚗 rider and will just lay down taking it all in 🌎 I’ve recently started working with a trainer to help me build confidence. 

I really enjoy going on walks 🐕‍🦺I get nervous & can get spooked by noises but recover quickly. I love to run and my foster mom thinks I would be a great a running buddy! I would love to go on hikes in these big beautiful Colorado mountains. ⛰️ I also love meeting the neighbor dogs on walks!!

Foster mom has nothing but praise for handsome boy Ranger! 🤩

She says Ranger is a super smart pup 🧠 He learned to sit within minutes and has been doing great with potty training 👏🏼 He sits by the door to go out and loves to get praise when he does his business outside.

He’s very food motivated 🦴 and settles nicely in his crate after a few minutes, but boy does he love to snuggle with you for naps! 🥰

He’s been to breweries and crowded parks and loves everyone he meets. Including other dogs, cats and kids ❤️ Ranger can’t wait to find his forever home!

Double tap to BOOP! 👆🏼This is Terry – The Little Pup with a Big Personality! 🖤

Terry is a 3 month-old male puppy who may be small, but he’s already packed with charm and character! 🤩 With a sassy streak that will keep you smiling, Terry loves to let his voice be heard — whether it’s a bark of excitement, a playful growl, or his adorable way of “talking” to you 🗣️

He’s full of s***k and always ready for a game of tug or chase, but don’t let his feisty side fool you; Terry has a soft, snuggly side that he saves for his favorite humans 🥰

It’s raining pugs! ☔️ 😅

We’re thrilled to welcome Richie, Max and Charlie to MHLRM as “honorary labs” 🥰 All three found themselves in urgent need of rescue this week due to separate reasons.

These handsome boys are on their way to a fresh start in Colorado this week! We can’t wait for them to each find the loving home they deserve 🏠

INCOMING! New Mile High Labs arriving soon! 🐶🚐

We have a large transport arriving in Colorado on Friday with several great dogs onboard; including a litter of adorable yellow floofs 😍

We can’t believe these babies don’t have adopters waiting to scoop them up!

💛 Oscar, Rowdy, Greg, Beau, Yeager, Petunia and Tanner are 10 week old Lab mixes found under an abandoned trailer in rural Texas. They are doing great in their foster homes learning to potty outside, sleep in a crate and only chew on toys 👏🏼 They’re well-socialized with people, including children, and other dogs and cats!

Hello! I’m Finn. If you prefer your dogs the same way you take your coffee - strong, sweet, and cream colored - look no further! ❤️ 

Much like coffee, I’ll be the best start to your day and will keep you motivated, happy, and smiling all day long with me in your home!

🐶 I can live with other dogs as long as I am introduced properly and you’re able to calmly navigate the adjustment period. I had a rough go of things originally and am just a little nervous that I’ll be given up on again!

👧 I love kids. I know it’s important to be gentle with them, so I give lots of kisses and cuddles.

I’m smart as I am handsome! 🧠 I am quickly learning basic commands and will sit for a treat. Not to brag, but I learned how to use the doggy door within the first hour of arriving at my foster home - which is kind of a big deal 😏 I don’t mind being crated, and enjoy a good car ride now and then! Adventures here I come! 🏔️ 

🐕‍🦺 I enjoy going out for walks and am not afraid of a leash. Do I pull a little when excited? Obviously. Can I be corrected easily? Also, yes. I want to please so I will look to my human for cues!

I am a playful, active lab. I will do best in a home with an active lifestyle. I understand when it is time to chill out and enjoy snoozing in a dog bed (or your bed 😉). I can take on many forms in a given day. One minute I can be lightning fast, splashing in a puddle. Next, I can be found serving as a speed bump in the living room. I do read cues well, but will be my best self when I’ve been given some good exercise and attention each day! 👍 

✨ As a bonus, because everyone I’ve met has such faith in me and cannot understand why on earth I haven’t been adopted yet, my new family will get 3 free training sessions with Cosmic Dog Training to help get us all started on the right path together! ✨

Did someone say TACO Tuesday?! 🌮

Hello, I’m Taco! Yes, I look like I’m always ready to attend a formal event 🤵🏻‍♂️ but don’t let that fool you - I am down for fun (bonus if that fun includes getting wet or getting dirty!) And, because I am black, my coat will barely show any dirt at all. WIN! 👏🏼

Foster mom says I am a sweet, happy, cuddly little guy. I will give you tons of kisses and cuddles because they’re my favorite 🥰

I have never met a stranger. Dogs, cats, kids… everyone is a friend to me! I’m ready to fit into any type of home 🏠

I admit I’m a little guy and still need to learn my Ps and Qs 😏 Won’t you help teach me how to be the best and most well behaved puppy I can be?!

One thing I have mastered already is sleeping through the night 😴 I can sleep a whole 8-9 hours without any accidents!

I’m working on potty training too and have started ringing the bells on the door when I have to go out 🔔 My foster mom says I’m nearly potty trained! 🙌🏼

As a puppy, I am pretty active, but I definitely know when to calm things down and take a break to get some ZZZs. Have to recharge if you’re going to keep exploring the world, right!? 😜

It’s a bat 🦇 no it’s a bunny 🐰 nope, it’s just cute little Butter (and her ears)

Butterbeer (Butter for short) is a sweet, goofy puppy. She’s affectionate and loves to cuddle, especially napping curled on your lap or on your chest.

Butter is such a sweet girl, and loves to give kisses. She carries around her toys 🧸 everywhere she goes, and loves to play either alone, with her people or other pups. 

Butter is currently fostered with 2 Great Pyrenees (120 lb each) and she does great with both of them! Little girl with lots of BIG confidence! She likes to follow them around, but does not bother them to play, and takes their cues when they need space (which is so impressive for a puppy!).

She’s doing great with house training🚫💩 super smart, and has already learned ‘sit’, and is working on stay! Also, she sleeps through the night in her crate 😴

Butter is just a baby and is still learning what a leash is. She doesn’t mind her collar, and has done a great job of staying close in the backyard. She loves taking neighborhood walks in her sling carrier and is the most affectionate girl ever 🐕‍🦺

Typical puppy, Butter has spurts of playing with her toys, and then curls up for a nap. Her energy is definitely medium, and she rests easily throughout the day ♥️

Don’t but the droopy face fool you, Rudy is one happy & joyful, senior! 🥰

Rudy has had a very tough go of things over the past year, he along with 4 other dogs had an owner, who dumped them, and once contacted, simply said that they do want them anymore .. 😢

He is INCREDIBLY sweet and so happy to be in a home again.  He needs a place that will spoil him rotton!  Notes from the shelter volunteer “Rudy’s sad labby eyes and soulful demeanor stopped me as I was going down the row. Rudy is a little timid, however he was nothing but pleasant for me! He happily took my treats with a very soft mouth. Rudy let me leash him easily and is definitely potty trained! He also accepted my pets. He was too distracted by all the new sights and sounds to do much else outside, but he perked up when he saw his friend Jake through the kennel” 🏡

Once he relaxed in his foster home his tail started wagging his tail it now almost never stops!  🐕‍🦺

He can be shy with new people and will occasionally bark at them, it’s important to emphasize that he is not doing this out of aggresion. He’s just a talker! 🗣️

House trained & not destructive at all, he jumped right up on the bed the first night, very proud of himself! 😂

Very dog friendly, Rudy enjoys being around other dogs. He is gentle and sweet during introductions & has tried to initiate play with his foster sister pup several times. 🌀

House trained and well-mannered! Takes treats nicely.  He knows the basics very well! He can be a bit of an escape artist (ask me how I know!- says foster Dad 🫣) so a very secure yard would be a good idea.  

Rudy is heartworm positive, but treatment is very successful and completely manageable with all the proper education. MHLRM will cover the expense of treatment at one of our approved veterinarians. Heartworm positive dogs go on to live happy, normal lives after treatment and rarely experience long-term side effects. Yule (Benny to his foster family) is a man of routine- eat🦴, p**p 💩, play 🌀, sleep 😴 , repeat! In other words, a normal fun loving puppy!

In 3 short days at his new CO foster home, he successfully was sleeping in his crate through the night, doing his business outside, playing with lots of kids (8-15) plus all their friends! 🥰

He loves chasing after balls 🎾, playing tug of war with rope toys and chewing all the 🧸 If you adopt Yule, make sure you have a basket of toys, he loves them!

This little guy has a big personality, in part we’re sure due to his 130lbs furry foster Newfoundland brother! 🐕‍🦺Unafraid and unbothered by the fact that his foster bro has no interest in him, that doesn’t stop little Benny from trying to play 🌀

 Benny has no loss of playmates with 4 kids who love to play and show him love and attention, and he LOVES IT! Talk about a family 🐶

When Benny isn’t playing, he on someone’s lap snuggling & snoozing. As much fun & love as he’s getting, it’s time he found his forever 🏡

Hi, I’m Grizzly! 🐻My foster family named me Grizzly because I’m soft & fuzzy like a little bear cub AND I have a big personality with lots to say including sweet and playful bear growls!

I am full of just the right amount of play & chill.  I’ll run around 🌀and follow you, then I’ll cuddle up and take a nap 😴

I am in a foster home with lots of other 🐶 🐱 and 👧🏽👦🏼 and I am curious and playful with every single one of them! 

Being a puppy, I and am learning manners… it takes some hard work, but with a dedicated family, I know I’ll learn! I’m hoping I will find a home that loves me and wants to take me on lots of adventures so we can explore this world together!  🌎

Foster Mom says I’m a quick learner. I am doing great with potty 💩training and I have almost mastered sit…almost! I do sleep ALL night long, not a peep but maybe a snore.. and I haven’t met a set of stairs yet, I can’t get up & down ⬆️⬇️

Lee has so much love to give and wants nothing more than to find a forever home with people to call his own 👩🏼👨🏽

Give him an ear rub, and he will give you his heart. Ready to fall in love, then come meet Lee ♥️

A curious one, Lee likes to be involved in everything you are doing— cooking, yardwork, even bathroom breaks if you’ll let him💩 🤦🏼‍♀️😂

He is eager to please and so thankful to be out of the shelter. This happy-go-lucky guy loves everything and everyone. 🥰 The first time Lee went for a walk to the park, he was literally jumping for joy (like a leapfrog). He will chase squirrels 🐿️ and zoom around outside, but inside, he loves to curl up next to you and give you kisses 😘
 
Before coming to Colorado, Lee was in a high-kill shelter in Texas. He is very skinny and has not had the easiest life so far. He is looking to find a home to give him lots of love (and treats 🦴) to make his days on the streets a thing of the past 🏡

Lee has been great with other dogs! After getting comfortable with one another, he loves to roughhouse with his young foster sister. 🐶 He has also played with other male and female dogs from ages 1 - 8. He understands social cues well and gives out friendly signals the whole time he is playing.

Lee is very friendly and loves to give kisses. As a result, he may be a bit jumpy or overwhelming for very young children, but he’s learning ! 👧🏽

Lee knows “sit” & has already learned “down” since being in his foster home. He is currently working on “stay” and “come.” The best way to get him motivated is with c🧀 or sometimes just a good ear rub

🦮Lee is still working a bit on his leash manners. While he is generally okay, he can get excited when he see squirrels or other dogs.

Lee loves to play withdogs & go for walks, but he also knows when it is time to settle. He is a great coworker who won’t make a peep while you are in your Zoom meetings 💻

Max is a gentle, laid back guy! He enjoys hanging out with his human companions, getting pets & sitting in your lap 😂🥰

Also, an avid walker, Max LOVES to go on walks and take in the sights and smells! He gets along fabulously with other dogs and greets them with gentle sniffs and soft tail wags! 🐕‍🦺

Although he is a senior, he is still spry, curious, and eager to join in whatever activities you’re doing! Personally, we think seniors are THE very best! None of that pesky puppy stage, till young enough to go on a walk or hike but no longer a crazy hyper Labrador 😉 

Max, Rudy, Jake and Rocky have a very sad story. They were abandoned in the streets by their owners, and when contacted to let them know their 4 senior dogs were at the shelter, the owners said they no longer want them. Unfortunately this put them at immediate risk of euthanasia at the shelter due to their age and limited capacity. MHLM quickly stepped in and got these boys to Colorado! 🏔️

Max is so friendly with other dogs 🐶 He doesn’t play but is content being around them and likes to snuggle with his foster siblings. He would love a doggie buddy but would also do well as an only dog.

This boy LOVES the kiddos! 👧🏼 Sweet and gentle with kids and likes to follow them around.  

🏡 House trained, crate trained, and well-mannered. He also does great free road while his foster family is away from the house. He’s great in the car as well,  beep beep! 🚗
