It’s a bat 🦇 no it’s a bunny 🐰 nope, it’s just cute little Butter (and her ears)

Butterbeer (Butter for short) is a sweet, goofy puppy. She’s affectionate and loves to cuddle, especially napping curled on your lap or on your chest.

Butter is such a sweet girl, and loves to give kisses. She carries around her toys 🧸 everywhere she goes, and loves to play either alone, with her people or other pups.

Butter is currently fostered with 2 Great Pyrenees (120 lb each) and she does great with both of them! Little girl with lots of BIG confidence! She likes to follow them around, but does not bother them to play, and takes their cues when they need space (which is so impressive for a puppy!).

She’s doing great with house training🚫💩 super smart, and has already learned ‘sit’, and is working on stay! Also, she sleeps through the night in her crate 😴

Butter is just a baby and is still learning what a leash is. She doesn’t mind her collar, and has done a great job of staying close in the backyard. She loves taking neighborhood walks in her sling carrier and is the most affectionate girl ever 🐕‍🦺

Typical puppy, Butter has spurts of playing with her toys, and then curls up for a nap. Her energy is definitely medium, and she rests easily throughout the day ♥️

Don’t but the droopy face fool you, Rudy is one happy & joyful, senior! 🥰

Rudy has had a very tough go of things over the past year, he along with 4 other dogs had an owner, who dumped them, and once contacted, simply said that they do want them anymore .. 😢

He is INCREDIBLY sweet and so happy to be in a home again. He needs a place that will spoil him rotton! Notes from the shelter volunteer “Rudy’s sad labby eyes and soulful demeanor stopped me as I was going down the row. Rudy is a little timid, however he was nothing but pleasant for me! He happily took my treats with a very soft mouth. Rudy let me leash him easily and is definitely potty trained! He also accepted my pets. He was too distracted by all the new sights and sounds to do much else outside, but he perked up when he saw his friend Jake through the kennel” 🏡

Once he relaxed in his foster home his tail started wagging his tail it now almost never stops! 🐕‍🦺

He can be shy with new people and will occasionally bark at them, it’s important to emphasize that he is not doing this out of aggresion. He’s just a talker! 🗣️

House trained & not destructive at all, he jumped right up on the bed the first night, very proud of himself! 😂

Very dog friendly, Rudy enjoys being around other dogs. He is gentle and sweet during introductions & has tried to initiate play with his foster sister pup several times. 🌀

House trained and well-mannered! Takes treats nicely. He knows the basics very well! He can be a bit of an escape artist (ask me how I know!- says foster Dad 🫣) so a very secure yard would be a good idea.

Rudy is heartworm positive, but treatment is very successful and completely manageable with all the proper education. MHLRM will cover the expense of treatment at one of our approved veterinarians. Heartworm positive dogs go on to live happy, normal lives after treatment and rarely experience long-term side effects. Don’t let this stop you from adopting Rudy! He has lost a fair amount of his teeth & some arthritis and hip issues, same Rudy same.. 🙋🏻‍♂️ If you’re an approved adopter, please reach out to you Adoption Coordinator to meet Rudy!

Yule (Benny to his foster family) is a man of routine- eat🦴, p**p 💩, play 🌀, sleep 😴 , repeat! In other words, a normal fun loving puppy!

In 3 short days at his new CO foster home, he successfully was sleeping in his crate through the night, doing his business outside, playing with lots of kids (8-15) plus all their friends! 🥰

He loves chasing after balls 🎾, playing tug of war with rope toys and chewing all the 🧸 If you adopt Yule, make sure you have a basket of toys, he loves them!

This little guy has a big personality, in part we’re sure due to his 130lbs furry foster Newfoundland brother! 🐕‍🦺Unafraid and unbothered by the fact that his foster bro has no interest in him, that doesn’t stop little Benny from trying to play 🌀

Benny has no loss of playmates with 4 kids who love to play and show him love and attention, and he LOVES IT! Talk about a family 🐶

When Benny isn’t playing, he on someone’s lap snuggling & snoozing. As much fun & love as he’s getting, it’s time he found his forever 🏡

Hi, I’m Grizzly! 🐻My foster family named me Grizzly because I’m soft & fuzzy like a little bear cub AND I have a big personality with lots to say including sweet and playful bear growls!

I am full of just the right amount of play & chill. I’ll run around 🌀and follow you, then I’ll cuddle up and take a nap 😴

I am in a foster home with lots of other 🐶 🐱 and 👧🏽👦🏼 and I am curious and playful with every single one of them!

Being a puppy, I and am learning manners… it takes some hard work, but with a dedicated family, I know I’ll learn! I’m hoping I will find a home that loves me and wants to take me on lots of adventures so we can explore this world together! 🌎

Foster Mom says I’m a quick learner. I am doing great with potty 💩training and I have almost mastered sit…almost! I do sleep ALL night long, not a peep but maybe a snore.. and I haven’t met a set of stairs yet, I can’t get up & down ⬆️⬇️

I’m super excited and ready to find my forever home!🏡

Lee has so much love to give and wants nothing more than to find a forever home with people to call his own 👩🏼👨🏽

Give him an ear rub, and he will give you his heart. Ready to fall in love, then come meet Lee ♥️

A curious one, Lee likes to be involved in everything you are doing— cooking, yardwork, even bathroom breaks if you’ll let him💩 🤦🏼‍♀️😂

He is eager to please and so thankful to be out of the shelter. This happy-go-lucky guy loves everything and everyone. 🥰 The first time Lee went for a walk to the park, he was literally jumping for joy (like a leapfrog). He will chase squirrels 🐿️ and zoom around outside, but inside, he loves to curl up next to you and give you kisses 😘

Before coming to Colorado, Lee was in a high-kill shelter in Texas. He is very skinny and has not had the easiest life so far. He is looking to find a home to give him lots of love (and treats 🦴) to make his days on the streets a thing of the past 🏡

Lee has been great with other dogs! After getting comfortable with one another, he loves to roughhouse with his young foster sister. 🐶 He has also played with other male and female dogs from ages 1 - 8. He understands social cues well and gives out friendly signals the whole time he is playing.

Lee is very friendly and loves to give kisses. As a result, he may be a bit jumpy or overwhelming for very young children, but he’s learning ! 👧🏽

Lee knows “sit” & has already learned “down” since being in his foster home. He is currently working on “stay” and “come.” The best way to get him motivated is with c🧀 or sometimes just a good ear rub

🦮Lee is still working a bit on his leash manners. While he is generally okay, he can get excited when he see squirrels or other dogs.

Lee loves to play withdogs & go for walks, but he also knows when it is time to settle. He is a great coworker who won’t make a peep while you are in your Zoom meetings 💻

Max is a gentle, laid back guy! He enjoys hanging out with his human companions, getting pets & sitting in your lap 😂🥰

Also, an avid walker, Max LOVES to go on walks and take in the sights and smells! He gets along fabulously with other dogs and greets them with gentle sniffs and soft tail wags! 🐕‍🦺

Although he is a senior, he is still spry, curious, and eager to join in whatever activities you’re doing! Personally, we think seniors are THE very best! None of that pesky puppy stage, till young enough to go on a walk or hike but no longer a crazy hyper Labrador 😉

Max, Rudy, Jake and Rocky have a very sad story. They were abandoned in the streets by their owners, and when contacted to let them know their 4 senior dogs were at the shelter, the owners said they no longer want them. Unfortunately this put them at immediate risk of euthanasia at the shelter due to their age and limited capacity. MHLM quickly stepped in and got these boys to Colorado! 🏔️

Max is so friendly with other dogs 🐶 He doesn’t play but is content being around them and likes to snuggle with his foster siblings. He would love a doggie buddy but would also do well as an only dog.

This boy LOVES the kiddos! 👧🏼 Sweet and gentle with kids and likes to follow them around.

🏡 House trained, crate trained, and well-mannered. He also does great free road while his foster family is away from the house. He’s great in the car as well, beep beep! 🚗

Hi there! My name is Tadaaki & I am one sweet, good natured girl, and whatever you’re into, I’m into!

I’m up for most things - walks, hikes, exploring new places, etc. and am learning that it’s ok to be a dog - and what that looks like! I’ve been in mom-mode for awhile, although am getting my groove back 🤩 I am so loyal and loving - and also very concerned that I am going to be left behind, if I’m being honest. When my people are home, I will follow them everywhere to make sure I don’t miss out on anything. I aim to please, and help. I am a dream on a leash, and super easy in the home. But, when everyone leaves the house I do get sad due to my past and will need patience and reassurance from my new family to ease my fear around being separated from them! Bonus - if you make sure I get out during the day and get some exercise with you, guess who will sleep through the whole night next to you without making a peep or needing to get up!? This lady right here!

My babies (11) & I were found as strays in TX. I was able to birth this many puppies alone and make sure we all were not only saved, but stayed healthy and looked after during the process. I am loyal to my own 🥰

I don’t need a furry sibling to thrive, although if you have 🐶🐶 already, a slow introduction in a neutral space where you take things at my pace would sure be appreciated. I just want a pack to be a part of and to know I’m safe - that matters more to me than if other dogs are present or not! Toys in the home also matter, I should be clear. I LOVE toys. 🧸 The squeakier the better, so toys and a pack to be a part of would be great!

I’ve not been around any 🐱to be sure, but, I sure can keep 🐿️away so I may have a bit of a prey drive.

I don’t love loud or sudden movements though, which may change as I continue to decompress and get used to being in a loving 🏠

I have some light dermatitis but my hair will grow back strong and gorgeous as ever 🖤

Adorable, playful, loves people, dogs & stuffed animals 🧸 Meet Moose!

Moose may just be a little pup, but he has a big unforgettable personality! He has been settling into his foster home & loves his foster Lab sister 🐶 & foster kitty sister 🐱

Moose has a very active brain/nose & would do best in a house where he has lots of opportunities to be active with his playful and curious energy.

Moose is still a baby, so he has a lot to learn! He’s treat motivated and eager to please. He is fully house-broken and has not had a single accident in his foster home! 🚫💩 He is learning his new routine quickly & takes quickly to new tricks and commands. Positive reinforcement with treats, toys, and praise has worked best for him.

Moose also knows when to hit the snooze button and has been taking BIG naps with his foster family on the sofa and in his new bed. He likes having a soft, warm spot to curl up 💤

He would make a great companion dog and is very loyal and sweet. He is eager to please & learn. A great partner for outdoor adventures! He has a very sweet temperament and is very cuddly! He loves car 🚗 rides and usually once in his puppy seat will fall right to sleep!m

🐕‍🦺 Moose has met dogs of all sizes and age. He gets along with everyone! He has been loving exploring his new world with his foster family and dogs. He would do great in a house with other dogs where he can settle into his new pack’s routine.

Moose is a young Lab mix with puppy energy. He will do best with an adopter that can provide regular excercise, socialization and training.

Hello my name is Swiper I am a chocolate lab who is so smart that when my foster mom says why are you leaving your toys outside I turn around and get them and bring them inside, now that’s smart! 🧠

I’m looking for a family that will continue to train me and give me the exercise I really need. Hey, maybe a 2025 resolution for us both ! 🏃‍♂️

Met my foster Moms granddaughter yesterday, she was awesome! I was so excited that I jumped on her but she said all I did was tickle her and give her lots and lots of kisses. Guess I need a little bit of help with not jumping on little humans, but with the right training and consistency I will definitely get it down! 👧🏼

I love to play fetch 🎾and only talked to the neighbors dogs twice and now when they bark I do not engage I would rather play. 🐾

I would love another dog friend to play with as I love other dogs and people. I love walks 🐕‍🦺 but do need a harness as a collar does not feel good while walking it makes me pull.

If you adopt me I’ll bring my own kong toy that holds many treats 🍪Also my foster mom bought me some awesome squeaky toys 🧸 that the pet shop said I would destroy in a couple of days and they are still intact as I have not chwed them at all! When my foster mom comes home from work, I put one in my mouth so I’m not mouthy with her (she taught me that, see smart 🧠)..

Meet Buster Brown! He’s not only handsome, but a total lover too 🤎

Buster Brown has met several dogs & loves them all! Foster mom has 🐶🐶 rambunctious (we ♥️Labs!) labs and he does well with them. He loves toys, playing, running around & exploring!!

He has such a great temperament & loves people, he’d do so well as a family dog! 🧑‍🧑‍🧒‍🧒

Buster Brown is a well-mannered boy but is just beginning to learn commands like sit and stay. 🐕‍🦺 He enjoys & walks nicely on leash.
He has a very gentle nature & loves treats. He will respond well to training!

Talk about puppy dog eyes (and head tilts 🥺)… Scully will have you wrapped around her little paw in minutes 😍

Scully is a curious, adorable puppy that warms up quickly to her people.
She loves to explore the house, cupboards, backyard, you name it! Shes just a baby girl figuring out this big new world 🌏

After a day of exploration, and playing with the family dog, this tired girl curls right up next to you and take a nap. 😴

She understands to potty outside and is working on crate training. She is quick to understand corrections & wants to learn.
Scully is sweet as pie!🩷

Her mom was a pregnant stray on the street and brought to a shelter. MHLRM pulled her from the shelter along with her 2 siblings, from the shelter EU list. They have been in a foster home since getting lots of love & socialization. Socialize, socialize!

Finn is a “real sweetie” says foster Mama and a stunning king 👑!

This BIG boy is so friendly and loves being around his people! So much so, he would do great as an only dog. He is an active, playful & vocal! 😂When he’s having a good time, you know it!

Finn plays well with his foster mom’s pups, but… he has had a few tussles with other dogs. 🫣 To ensure Finn is ready to be the best he can be, he is working with a trainer to help with doggies intros & make sure this king feels confident with other pups 🐶

Finn is an intelligent boy who has quickly learning basic commands & will sit for a treat 🍖He learned how to use the doggy door within the first hour of arriving at his foster home. He does not mind the kennel or the car 🚗

He enjoys going out for walks 🦮 and is not afraid of the leash. He does pull when excited or sees other pups, but is corrected easily. Finn’s trainer is working with Finn on leash etiquette.

Being a playful, active Lab, Finn will do best in a home with an active lifestyle. He definitely understands when it is time to chill out and enjoys snoozing in a dog bed. He is not a destructive boy & is very food motivated 🦴

🦃Temp Thanksgiving foster needed🦃 Finn is looking for a place to hang for turkey day until Sunday, December 1! Finn was amazing with the dogs in his foster home, but not so much with the dogs at his temp foster home. We are hoping to get him into a foster home with NO dogs or with someone who can set some clear boundaries and keep him separate until he settles in . Finn is so sweet & LOVES people & kids!
