The White County Animal Shelter

The White County Animal Shelter We are a very small dog only shelter in rural middle TN. Our primary focus is the intake of stray dogs and we try to reunite them with their family.

We do all we can to reunite dogs with their families or find adoptive homes for them or place them with approved rescues. On the occasions that their family can’t be found, or if the family is not interested in reclaiming their pet, we do all we can to find adoptive homes for them or place them with approved rescues. We will take owner surrenders when space allows, you will be required to pay a $5

0.00 fee to surrender your pet. As with all rural shelters in economically depressed areas, our adoption numbers aren’t very high so we strive to work with as many rescues as we can and we are always looking for more wonderful volunteers to help out the fur kids! Adopting a friend

Our adoption fees are $250.00. This fee includes the following

Full Physical Exam
Sterilization Surgery
Pain Injection w/Laser Treatment
Fecal Test
Heartworm Test
Rabies Vaccination (If old enough at time of surgery)
Therapeutic Ear Cleaning
Nail Trim

Your new pet received the following the day he/she came into the shelter

DAPPv
Bordetella
Dewormer
Capstar
Flea and Tick Prevention
Heartworm Prevention (5 Months and Younger)

ABSOLUTELY NO ADOPTED ANIMAL LEAVES THE SHELTER UNALTERED

The pull fee for approved rescues will be reflective of the vetting a dog has received while at the shelter. Rescues do not need to be 501c3 to work with us!! We are not affiliated with any rescue or shelter, however we do work with Rescues in order to save as many dogs from euthanasia as possible. We are not a No-Kill Shelter, although we try to place as many dogs possible with adopters and rescues.

Pupdate! Thank you to everyone who donated. The bill left on his account is only $68! He is doing much better! He has four more days of meds left so he is ready to jump into someone’s arms. If anyone is interested in adopting River please contact us. His adopter has decided he might not be the right fit with their 8 year old dog.

We are asking for donations for vet care for little River. He was doing wonderful, making milestones towards being a healthy happy doggie. He went to adoption event on Saturday where he captured someone’s heart. This led him on the adoption path. But the next day he became ill. To the point a vet visit was needed. He seems to be improving but we are looking for sponsors who would be willing to help with vet costs. If you are able to chip in a few bucks it would be greatly appreciated.
