First of all, I want to thank everyone who has donated so far. If we can keep this up, we can continue helping to feed pets all over Middle Tennessee! Please don't stop! Share, share, and share some more!
A couple of updates/reminders:
1. The Pet Pantry is (and always has been) meant for emergency situations only. The point is to be there when times are very tough and pet owners have absolutely no way of getting food for their pets. Even when we are receiving donations, the number of people who TRULY need help outweighs our resources. No one should be depending on The Pet Pantry to provide pet food every week, month, etc. We are not equipped to do so, and that is not the point of our organization. Please keep this in mind when submitting requests. This reminder is not meant to be rude or disrespectful in any way whatsoever. It is intended to be a gentle reminder that by submitting a request for food from us when you are able to get it on your own takes resources away from those who genuinely need it. And believe me, there are MANY pet owners in Middle Tennessee who genuinely need it.
2. Don't forget that Beesley Animal Foundation in Murfreesboro is doing their quarterly drive-thru pet food distribution this Thursday, 12/19/24 from 1:30-4:30pm. You can go there and receive 3-5 pounds of pet food per pet for up to 4 pets per household. And you don't have to live in Murfreesboro to be eligible. Beesley is an amazing organization and such a blessing. It takes a village.
3. All of the pets in our Angel Tree program were adopted and I have received(and am still receiving) SO MANY gifts to deliver to those pets!! My hope is to have them all delivered this weekend, but it may go into next week depending on timing. There are a lot, but they will definitely all be delivered by Christmas! Thank you so much to everyone who participated. I'll be sharing lots of photos soon!
4. I am still working on getting donation boxes ready and set up at various locations in Middle Tennessee counties. If you are a business owner in Middle Tennessee and would like to host a donation box at your place of business for people to drop off/pick up donations, please email me at [email protected] if you haven't already. And for everyone I've already spoken with, I will reach out again soon with next steps. I'm especially wanting to get these placed in more under-served communities, but my goal is to have at least 2-3 in every county in Middle Tennessee by the end of 2025.
5. Thank you. Thank you all so much for sticking with me and supporting The Pet Pantry over the last 9 months. We're really making a difference in people's lives and I am so incredibly proud of everything we've accomplished so far. We're small, but mighty! 💪 And it will only get better from here.
