Hey y'all
I have some bad news. It's taken me a while to share this.

I will not be competing Flynn at the Expo this year, after all. He has moved on to greener pastures over the rainbow bridge. He had a severe case of colic that we could not get him through.

I am absolutely gutted. I wanted to thank all of you for the encouragement. & if anyone has a special memory of him that they would like to share, I would greatly appreciate it.

I had picked up a donation for saddles that I will still be bringing. I will probably volunteer to encourage all of you as well, but I'm not going to promise that yet.
I wish all of you the best of luck & hug your ponies for me. 💜

This is what we actually submitted as our skills demo when it was due

Still hesitated at the trailer but he was much better about it today - yesterday yall saw the 3rd attempt & this was the 1st

I think we got everything and we were way more organized 🙌😅

I forgot the hind legs & a body score walk around so I'll submit a better one tomorrow 😅

I had done it all then he bawked at the trailer so we had to do a traing session and start over which is why this is so out of order 😅💀🤷‍♀️

Adventures with Flynn

Recap:
Flynn stood quietly at the trailer and few times, stood pretty still for his shower after the games we played in the arena, traveled well, made new friends & was fairly friendly with new horses, he tried new toys/obstacles without becoming frantic and overall had a good experience!
I am quite pleased with his progress and am extraordinarily thankful I can do these things with him. We needed a field trip as I was feeling stuck, so I am super excited to plan our next outing!

We did several things while on our one day trip but I can't post more than one video at a time so here are the skills we worked on:
-lunging
- circles
-poles
-impromptu hindquarter yields 😂
-introduction to jumps ... or maybe a reinrtoduction as I know he's had at least one jump session before I got him as my challenge partner
-confidence building

This was part of our warm up before anyone else got out there because I am terrified of anyone seeing my horse freak out over something new. Not that he doesn't already know what poles are & i was in one of the most positive & encouraging places but as I am not a trainer ... the self doubt is real so 🤷‍♀️
