United Paws' newest Foster Volunteers, Norma & Lloyd, are now caring for our oldest rescued cat, Putz. Norma says they will care for this beautiful old boy as long as needed. Putz had been with the same human for 20 years, ever since he was adopted as a kitten. After his human died, the family no longer wanted Putz and considered euthanizing him. United Paws immediately stepped in, rescued Putz, and now he's one happy cat with his new fosters.

Jazz and Jett say," We absolutely are not feeling the love, and we have so much love to give back. The adopters that we hoped for never showed, so now we spend our quiet moments looking out the window hoping and wishing that someone or maybe two someones will drive up and get out with a smile on their face and a carrier in their hand to take us home forever. It's hard to explain how we feel. If it wasn't for our foster-gram and gramps to love us and hold us in their laps and talk softly to us, gently stroking our fur until we fall asleep, we don't know what we would do. Dear readers, please take a good look at us. Can you find a place in your heart and home for a kitty or two that will love you unconditionally for the rest of their lives? Jett sez, "We are so frustrated! We were told that we both had approved adopters, but they never showed up. They never even called our fosters. Apparently they don't really want us. Truthfully, we're devastated. Not to brag, but we are so loving,and cuddly and we are just plain fun. We just can't believe it. Add to all that, our adoption fees have already been paid. Lizzie was so happy United Paws could help her family's kittens, she decided to set up a lemonade stand and donate her profits to United Paws! Incredibly, Lizzie made well over $50 for her efforts, which she handed over to United Paws President Karen Schrader to help all the kitties. Thank You Lizzie💖Your generosity & caring touch out hearts!

About a month ago, Lizzie’s mother contacted United Paws for help when they discovered the kittens under their front porch. United Paws has done health checks on the kittens, given vaccines, and deworming treatments . UP also helped by providing kitten food and litter. The kittens will soon be adoptable through United Paws.

At UP, we call this arrangement “self-fostering," which means the person needing assistance keeps the kittens (or cat) in their home, while United Paws provides medical care, food, litter, marketing, and adoption screening to help find the kittens loving forever homes.

Jazz sez, "I just keep looking and looking. I can't believe it. Yesterday Jett and I celebrated our five month birthday. We'll, celebrated is the wrong word. It was sad, really. Our brothers all went to their forever homes. We sit here looking out of the window, and nobody comes for us even though our sponsor paid our adoption fees, and you might say that we are free to any adopter. Do they think that 'free' means that there's something wrong with us? Not at all! We are just plain fun with lots of love, snuggles, and cuddles all wrapped up in beautiful black wrappers. We found a surprise package on our porch this evening. It was a nice gift from Jake and his new mom for Jazz and Jet. Yummy snacks and a rainbow nip toy. Within minutes the boyz, Purrcy and Lucky were all under the influence. 😺😺😺

"Check out the pictures. We are incredibly handsome little house panthers. There were four of us who looked so much alike that without our collars, you couldn't tell us apart. Brother Jack was the last to be adopted, and he's part of the big surprise. Keep reading."

pictures. Sometimes, we will walk away from our food to settle into your lap and to snuggle under your chin. We don't have to be adopted together, but it would be fun."

KITTENS of the WEEK: SAMMY & MAGGIE

This dynamic duo, Maggie & Sammy, are bonded sisters who are about 3 months old. Their elegant, silky black coats and sleek bodies make them look like mythological cats who grace us with their feline beauty! Every day, they play & snuggle with one another and with their humans. They are happy & socialized, and will get along with children and adults. Maggie & Sammy’s foster family describes them as “ideal cats for just about any family.”

These kittens have high energy and love bounding across the room or climbing a tall cat tree. When it’s nap time, they are snuggle bugs and will happily snooze in a warm lap. When Sammy wants to be held, she will reach out to you with her paw. At night, they love sleeping with their humans, burrowing under the blankets or nesting in the pillows.

Maggie & Sammy are spayed, vaccinated, and will be chipped, once adopted. They are healthy and eat mostly wet food. Maggie did have a bad eye infection that required medication, but she is doing fine now. She has just a slight scar on her cornea and this does not affect her eyesight. They get along with other friendly kittens & cats, and will probably do well with dogs, given a proper introduction.

Foster Mom has been working with Maggie & Sammy to walk on a cat leash for a stroll in the neighborhood. With patience and practice, they can be your walking buddies. Mostly, they want to be together with a forever family of their own.

Jazz and Jett say, "Well, it finally happened. Brother Jake left with his new mom to go to his forever home in Whatchamacallit, Washington. We're so excited for him and so sad that we got left behind. But, before he left, he told us the secret that he mentioned when he told you about being adopted yesterday. His new mom also loved us so much that she volunteered to sponcer us, and she donated the adoption fees for both of us. Super, huh? So, if you love to have one or both of us panther boys with prepaid fees, just fill out and submit this app. Ask for us by name.. See ya soon."

UPDATE: Angelina Learns to WALK Again!

In early July, United Paws rescued a special needs kitten whose back legs were not working and Angelina was dragging her hind legs. A very special Foster Volunteer, Chelsea, stepped up to help Angelina. Vets determined that she had feeling in her hind legs and could potentially be rehabilitated. She just needed a patient human with lots of love give Angelina rehab exercises, and TLC. Chelsea IS that person! She has been remarkable with Angelina. Every day she exercises Angelina's legs, several times a day. Angelina also gets lots of attention from her foster family, including dogs, a cat, and loving humans. Foster Grandpa even bought Angelina a covered cat stroller for walks in the neighborhood with the dogs. Here's Chelsea's latest report:

"Angelina is sassy and wild! It’s hard to get a picture of her when she’s up and about because she's so QUICK when she gets going. Angelina loves to sprint and pounce, and she’s also very talkative now that she’s found her own little meow. She loves her dogs and cat foster siblings (surprisingly, the dogs more ,lol) and she’s made huge progress on her legs. She’s tough and we adore her!"

Thank you Chelsea! You and Angelina are amazing together!
