Our Pugs and Pals Picnic is October 12, 2024 from 10 to 3pm at Camp Care Free in Stokesdale, NC.
We are looking for someone that does Dog Caricatures that would like to set up at our picnic and do caricature pictures of pugs and their pals. We have had a lot of interest so if there is anyone willing to come out, please contact us here. You could charge a small fee for each picture you do. Please sure if you know of someone or if you live in NC. Thanks!

Martin is still looking for his forever home. If you are looking to add to your family, then please put in your adoption application. It is on our website www.pugrescuenc.org, under the available pugs tab. You must be on a computer and answer every question. We only adopt to residence in NC or surrounding states. Martin is great with other dogs, cats and the children in his foster home. He loves to be with his human. He will be a great addition!

UPDATE: Tugg’s ultrasound results are in. There was still food particles in the stomach after 12 hours since he ate. The vet feels strongly that he has a motility issue so they have started medications and a low fat senior diet. Higher fat foods take longer to leave the GI tract. So hopefully this medication is tolerable for him. It is half a very small pill so that is a plus. The vet will follow up with him on Feb 27. So hopefully this helps and allows this boy to eat. He was down another 2.5 pounds. He needs to put back on 7.5 pounds just to get back to a healthy weight. If the medication does not work then our next step is a barium swallow. Thank you for all the donations and prayers for this sweet boy.
Next day: He seems much more comfortable today and able to eat and rest. Hopefully he continues to improve.

They sold out quick last time. This time open the picture of the mat you want and message there., you want it. That way we know who messaged first. If the first person never pays then I can take the second name.

Update for those following Tugg's Story. He did not tolerate the oral antibiotics at all. He is also vomiting even with the Cerenia pills. I had left a message for the vet who called back today. He wants to get Tugg in for an abdominal ultrasound which is now scheduled for Feb 22. He wants to rule out anything in his stomach that they can't see with x-ray. If the ultrasound is normal then we will try Maxolon and see if it is just a motility issue. The vet does not want to start the medication without knowing as it could make the condition worse if there was something there. I will not get results on that day but he said he would call in a couple days with the results. Unless of course they see something bad So we are praying for a negative ultrasound so he does not have to undergo surgery. I would love for him to be well, eating a normal diet and gaining his weight back. Thanks for all the prayers and help with his bill.

UPDATE: Tugg still needs your help and prayers. He went back to the vets today and he is still suffering from bronchitis, with lots of noise in his airways. He got another long acting antibiotic shot and we are trying oral antibiotics again. The vet is afraid if we do not get this under control that we will have to hospitalize him for iv antibiotics. He also lost another pound of weight, so he is down 5 pounds. So please say a prayer that the medications will start working and make him feel better. If you can spare a few dollars towards his bill that would be great. It is now 1,500.00 and still climbing. We are hoping to continue to care for him at home to keep the cost down. Along with the fluff trough fundraiser one of our volunteers is making these great food mats. You can put your dogs food bowl and water on them. They help with messy eaters! They are quilted and absorbent. Machine wash and dry. Great to put your Fluff trough on too!
