We received the saddening news last week that we lost another one of our greats. I have been training and caring for Bear since he was just a pup. He was the last of the true OG’s, he grew up with my dogs Emma and Knight who are now reunited and surely rejoicing in their reunion. Emma taught Bear how to be an ambassador for the breed and Bear in turn taught my two Rottie pups those same principles 10 years later. Bear was one of the sweetest and goofiest 150lb Rottweilers you’ve ever met! He was lucky enough to be raised with two young children and wonderful dog parents that took him swimming in the pool, boating and just about everywhere they went. He was truly blessed with the best family and returned the blessing tenfold by being the most incredible dog! When he was young he was terrified of the pool and it took me days to teach him to enter the pool on his own, from there he turned into a canine manatee and would swim laps forever if you’d let him and would simply just let his butt sink in the shallow end to put his back paws on the floor to rest instead of getting out of the pool. He’d go out offshore with me and Emma for a day of fishing and learned from her how to watch for flying fish off the bow. We spent time in downtown Stuart at music festivals to teach him how to avoid distractions and enjoy being part of the show as everyone always wanted to say hello to the handsome guy! Bear taught me a lot about dog training over the years, most importantly how to appreciate being in the presence of love and how to receive and return it. He had a lot of feelings and was never shy sharing them with you through his Rottie rumbles and snarky barking when you weren’t devoting your complete attention to him! He was my guy and I’ll miss him dearly, as I’m sure his family and everyone else that knew him will. Our thoughts and love go out to you Diana and Fernando and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for sharing the past decade of Bear with us! Until
Every Summer Rick and Brandee take a trip to Anguilla to visit with their friends, and this time around they’re returning with puppies!
These babies were rescued from the island, they’re believed to be around 3 months of age and have survived Parvovirus. Their littermates were also rescued and will be headed to NY, while these two girls are making their way to Lovedog Inc. in sunny south Florida! Time to fatten them up and get them started with training! 💛
Summer is in full swing! 💦😎
The lab babies got to hangout and explore in the big yard today! It was a good training opportunity to work on their “out” command for when they try to pick stuff up off the ground 🍃
Who’s it gonna be? Neva and the 49ers or Rip and the Chiefs? Obviously Neva looks like our wide receiver and Rip more like our defensive lineman🤣
January recap ⏪ We had 17 dogs come through our doors for a 2 week board and train program. We covered everything from basic obedience to reactivity issues to service dog training. Our trainers were busy! Looking forward to what the month of February has in store for LoveDog! 🐾
This morning we took Sasha, one of our board and train dogs, to the farm to meet some horses 🐴 Sasha’s mom is a social worker and does a lot of equine therapy with her clients. She will have Sasha working alongside her in the field and needs her to be comfortable and safe around other animals. She did great today! 💛
Another lab pup placed in the perfect home 🥹 Hemingway (now Tucker) is doing great with his new family ❤️
His sister, Squirt, is still available! See our previous post for her information 🐾
We never know when our lab pups are going to meet their perfect family, but they always end up where they’re meant to be! We’ll miss you buddy but know that you will have the best life and see us often. Merry Christmas Oliver and the Smith Family!! ❤️🐾🎄
Our lab pup Oliver is doing SO good with his training!! ❤️ He had a sleepover with one of our trainers and spent time around children, practiced his leash walking and worked through distractions.
We noticed that every time Meg would visit, her parents had to lift her in and out of the car, so we started teaching her how to do it on her own! She earned an A+ today 🤩
One of our long time clients recently moved out of state. They sent this video to show us how the dogs are doing☺️ Off leash recall is so important 👏🏼
It’s a good day to have a good day! ☀️
One of our amazing clients donated this wheelchair (+ a walker) to Lovedog. These are going to be great tools for our dogs in service training, and for any dogs with owners that require mobility assistance.
Meet Bleu! 🩵 He’s a 3 month old Bernadoodle enrolled in our 2 week board and train program. Today he worked on some of his basic commands (sit, stay, come, down, place) 😊🐾
What does 2 treats plus 2 treats equal? Anyone?🤓
Some of our furry friends arriving to Lovedog! 😍
Bear has been coming to Lovedog for 10 years now and he still has so much to say 🤣
Enjoying a beautiful day outside with our packs ☀️
Having fun and keeping cool! 💦
