Monthly donations help fill the gaps when we need it most. When we have an emergency case, we do not always have the time to wait for donations to come in. The dogs that we rescue are neglected and abused, therefore vet care is always needed. Most...

Your annual reminder. Happy Thanksgiving from all of us at Xanadu!

Recently, we had to say goodbye to Xanadu HQ dog Gabby. She will be forever missed here at home. I know many of our clients have heard me talk about her, so I wanted to give her an official Xanadu send-off. After close to 15 years, it's hard to imagine a life without her. I've had the chance to be there with a few of you as you said goodbye to your own pups, and I know it truly never gets easier. 💔

From the foster:
"Scruffy. Estimated 5-6yrs. Neutered male. Could lose a few pounds, about 42 lbs now.
We took him to the inlet once and he was starting to like the water.
He likes to follow his person around. Intelligent, mildly active.
Loves belly rubs and cuddle time."

🚨Kittens and mama still up for adoption!🚨
A client is fostering Rose and her litter - most of the kittens have been adopted but little Cater and Deuce still need a home. They are nearly 12 weeks old and will be fixed soon. Their mama cat, Rose, is sweet and petite and she's also looking for her forever home now that her kittens are ready to leave the nest! They estimate she is no older than 2.
If you're interested in adopting Cater, Deuce, or Rose, visit the Community Cats of Palm Coast website and fill out an application.

Doc might be the biggest dog we've ever had the pleasure of walking. 😍 At 140 lbs, he's pretty much the size of an adult human.

Is your home and yard safe for your pets? To start pet-proofing, make sure they don't have access to any of these common plants.

Who wants to take home sweet Merlin? 🥺
NO! Don't keep scrolling! Spend a minute reading about Merlin. He has been bypassed enough! This sweet boy has been with CCOPC since he was two months old. He is now a year and 10 months. That's how long black cats can wait for someone to choose them. Merlin is in an enclosure at our adoption center where he watches people adopt other cats and kittens. He is accustomed to being overlooked now and doesn't even compete for attention when folks come in. But volunteers say Merlin is very sweet and calm. He will likely show more of his personality when he is finally in the forever home he deserves. His buddy in his enclosure just got adopted. But Merlin still waits . . . and waits . . . To meet him, please fill out an application at www.communitycatspc.org/available, or stop into our adoption center Thursday - Saturday, from 11 - 3. We expect he will still be there, sigh. The center is located next to our thrift store in the Alamo Business Center, 4500 N. Hwy US1 in Bunnell.

We are proud to be partnering with a wonderful local volunteer foundation Dear God, Are we there yet? on their upcoming Pawject Runway Dog Fashion Show. The event will be held on July 9th from 8am-12pm at Michael Crotty Bicentennial Park in Ormond Beach. Funds raised will benefit Dear God Are We There Yet's community impact microgrants, as well as Sophie's Circle Dog Rescue. Well-dressed pups will be walking the runway with their owners, competing for a host of prizes in categories like "Most Fashionable" and "Best Personality."
I will be there with my dog Posy but they are still in need of a few more dogs to walk the runway. Registration is open through July 4th and we'd love to see you there! They will have vendors present and the audience will help judge the winners, so it should be a lot of fun even if you aren't able to walk the runway.

About Us
Xanadu is run with love by Emma Sledge, a Palm Coast resident since 2014. Emma is a lifelong animal lover who has lived with and cared for creatures great and small (from horses and livestock to dogs and cats to lizards and insects). She studied Animal Behavioral Sciences at Santa Fe’s Academy of AgriScience for several years and has been offering dog walking and pet sitting services to Palm Coast and Flager County professionally for over three years through Rover and Dog Vacay. When not walking her dogs, Emma can usually be found reading, kayaking through Flagler County’s many waterways, biking scenic Palm Coast trails, or cuddling with a dog or three and enjoying a Netflix binge.
Emma is licensed, insured, and has passed a background check to boot! Don’t take our word for it though, check out our testimonials to see what our clients have to say.
The Crew
Xanadu Pet Care was inspired by the three dogs that call Xanadu HQ home: Gabby (age 10), Millie (age 4), and Posey (age 1). They are each walked for a mile every night, and the unbridled enthusiasm and joy that those walks bring them became the foundation that Xanadu was built on. We want every animal to know this kind of happiness every day. In honor of Gabby, Millie, and Posey, Xanadu offers one-on-one dog walking and pet sitting services with one goal in mind: unbridled joy!
