What a fun weekend schooling our babies at the Sunset Ranch Obstacle Clinic and Challenge. First time with my daughter by my side. The babies did so good 🩷

Thank you Megan Bennett for hosting, organizing and teaching such a great clinic. This has been so good for our young horses.

KFR Majestic Selena (Majestic Sunspot X SP Jaanee) and I probably only had about 45 rides before we entered our first AzVRHA show. I haven't shown in over 20 years and have been talking about doing this for awhile now. I finally just made it happen and we jumped right in and I am blown away by this filly! Her mind, her work ethic and her ability to adapt at such a young age. No one could believe this was her first show!

We spent Friday through Sunday at R&R ranch doing our first ranch clinic and show. We entered Ranch Trail and Ranch Riding. We placed in Trail but we had to leave early and didn't hear how we placed in Ranch Riding. Most of ALL we had so much fun and learned so much! BIG Thank you to Josh Lyons/Lyons Legacy and Jana for all your support. Thank you to my sister Kaylee who showed up to support me and captured a few beautiful memories. Thank you to for putting on such a great show. They were so welcoming and helpful! Thank you to R&R Ranch and Samantha for hosting such a great event!

If you want to join an amazing association that is about helping and cheering everyone on... this is a great place to start! We can't wait for the next one!

Thank you so much to Ranch Performance Horses and Megan Bennett you run such a wonderfully smooth program and we all had so much fun. It was the perfect weekend and exactly what Selena needed at this point in her training.

Might not seem like an important accomplishment to most but this little filly blew me away this weekend. Though I started her months ago under saddle I really only have maybe 45 good rides on her. We showed up to the Obstacle Challange clinic yesterday with absolutely NO expectations. She was nervous, stressing about her new friend, trailers coming and going and just the unknown. This was only my second time hauling her to a new arena. We got to the Challange event this morning plenty early to let her and Juliette's horse get settled. We didn't get to walk the course before hand with the horses but we had time to warm up and walk around for awhile. When it was our turn to ride in... Selena was so brave and so relaxed! She did every obstacle and menuver I asked of her. Only a couple times I had to ask her twice to side pass back to an obstacle and remind her to "settle" before walking off. She is smart and so brave... I was so proud of her.

This was the perfect event for a young horse needing exposure but without too much pressure. Everyone was so nice and welcoming. We will definitely be going back and I'll probably be bringing a couple other young horses and doing In-Hand work.

I haven't been in any sort of competition in probably 20 years. It was so nice to be back out there!

Big things coming! Oh and we even tried out our new baby sliders in the warm up pen! ♥️

Day 1 Obstacle Challenge Clinic
Day 2... Obstacle challenge tomorrow. Great opportunity to start working Selena in a different environment. She was a little nervous but made huge progress. LOVE this little filly who is now a 4 year old ❤️ Thanks to Eve Mango for snapping a few photos!

Headed to America Fest! But had to ride this girl first....... I am blown away by her work ethic. She is soft and sensitive in all the right ways! (So much like riding her sire) She is making me a better rider! Maybe a solid 45 days. (not keeping track, maybe a few more) already anticipating my next move . She side passes, does all the turns...for- hand, light spin, reverse arc circles, picking up leads, loping comfortably, and showing me some #11's !!! Opening gates and its already looking pretty! Started learning haunches in and working on confidence on the trail. Going to start hauling to clinics and events the first of the year! We are ready!
