As some of you are aware, I have health issues that have required that I retire from breeding leopard geckos permanently. All but 3 of my beloved geckos have gone to new homes now, and these girls I will keep with me for the rest of their days (or mine...) I will continue working with my precious little U. milii though, for as long as God wills it.

Luna, my original Super Snow female, is reaching the age of 20 years, is blind, and requires being hand-fed. She is my heart! Lois, the matriarch of my signature Murphy Patternless line, is now over 16 years old, and doing amazingly well... never misses a meal, lol! Lola, my beautiful SHTCTB mama, is also 16 years old. She's still ovulating and this is problematic causing anorexia, although she gobbles up my slurry like a champ.

I have done my best to be an ethical breeder, shared just about everything I know with the community, good, bad, and ugly. Being the Administrator for GeckoForums.net for many years, lots of informative and fun interviews (darn that Mean Old Gecko Lady!), lots of podcasts, vending at all the best Reptile shows and meeting so many of you, writing articles for Reptiles Magazine, and other publications, have given me a deep sense of accomplishment. I will deeply miss all of this.

I would like to take this opportunity to let all of you know how much I appreciate your support for the past 29 years. It has been my deepest pleasure working with all of you! I have always felt nothing but love for my geckos and the community, still do, and always will. I have felt tremendous joy in my heart in keeping these beautiful, gentle creatures! This isn't "good-bye", I'm just adjusting my focus in life.

God Bless each and every one of you, and your geckos.

The time has come. I can no longer care for the remnants of my geckos. I need to re-home most of them. 😢 There are few that are still breedable, mostly males, but the rest are PET ONLY! I am over 70% disabled now, and can no longer care for them by GGG standards. I love them so much! I will try to get photos/descriptions of them slowly over time. I will accept donations only, and prospective takers will be vetted, because that's how much I care about my beautiful gentle creatures. 💔
Please help me... my heart is breaking. 😪

The average lifespan of an Underwoodisaurus milli (Thick-tail, Barking Gecko) is 8-10 years. My sweet girl lived for almost 10.5 years... until this afternoon.

She was so beautiful, gentle, and curious! She would crawl up into my hand without coaxing. She would come to the edge of her enclosure and look up at me with her doe-like eyes. She brought me, and the gecko community some of the most robust and gorgeous babies. She gave me tremendous joy. I have been so blessed!

Good-bye, darling little Macy. I will miss you so very, very much. 😩

Rest in Peace Brian... 😢

On behalf of the Barczyk family and our entire team at The Reptarium, it is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved Brian Barczyk.

More than the guiding light of our organization, Brian's fervent passion for reptiles and wildlife, along with his steadfast dedication to education, has touched innumerable hearts and minds globally.

Our deepest sympathies are with Brian's family, his friends, and all those whose lives he has touched. We've lost an exceptional individual – a visionary, mentor, and friend. For those of us who had the privilege of working alongside him, Brian's absence leaves an immeasurable void.
As we navigate this difficult time, we find comfort in the memories and the lasting light of Brian's work. He will be deeply missed but indeed, never forgotten.

The gecko on top of the pile is the Golden Gate Geckos 'Ultra-Light', which are now called 'Hypo's' by other breeders. Read my featured article in the May 2013 issue of Reptiles Magazine titled, "Darlings From Down-Under" for detailed info on them. I absolutely adore these little Aussie geckos! 🥰

I am wordless to express my sadness for the loss of Ken Harkewicz, my reptile's Veterinarian, my mentor and friend for over 20 years. He is leaving a legacy of knowledge, dedication, compassion and courage for the reptile community worldwide.

Golden Gate Geckos would not have been as successful if not for your care, advise and commitment to the reptile world. Thank you, my friend.

Rest in Peace, Ken. You will be missed terribly. 😞

With a heavy heart, I am announcing I will no longer be breeding leopard geckos. I cannot care for them by my own standards due to yet another upcoming spine surgery and the necessary recovery. My last spine surgery required almost a year to recover from. The "Mean Old Gecko Lady is pushin' 68 years old!

I will have this year's offspring available soon, and will be letting go several breeders, and some equipment as well. I will keep my geriatric geckos to live out their days with me... I simply cannot part with them! I will also keep a small breeding group of U. milli, and my C. v. variegatus as pets in a nice, naturalistic set up.

The Golden Gate Geckos website is now closed down, so please stay tuned for the next availability update here on FB.

I have dedicated well over 26 years serving the gecko community, and will continue to do so. It has been a joy and privilege to be a part of the pioneering of this amazing journey... learning, educating, and sharing the passion for these beautiful, gentle creatures we all love so much! 🥰
