I'd like to introduce you to Tessa, a sweet little pup I found wandering the streets just a few blocks from my home on the 13th. I've posted her information on various lost and found pet groups on Facebook, but so far, no one has come forward to claim her.

Tessa bears a striking resemblance to Diesel, and there's a possibility she could be one of Scooter's last pups before he was neutered. If that's the case, she's got a wonderful dad!

Tessa has been nothing short of amazing. She listens well, doesn't jump, and plays nicely with others. She's a cuddle bug but also quite independent. While I'm away, she spends time with Sugar and Penny, and I've only come home to happy little dogs who love seeing me walk through the door.

Soooo adorable!

Absolutely LOVE caring for and watching this gal mature into a very large cuddle bug! She had a very rough beginning and really deserves a happy ending.
I watched in horror as a gal tied her to a bush in an alley across from my home and walked away. I followed her on foot and made her come back for her dog! I repeated that this wasn’t the correct way and I would be happy to teach her how to do this without abandoning a dog. My words were not nice and every excuse she gave I was able to reciprocate with a logical answer. I was seeing RED!
My neighbor under up taking her in ‘her garage’ as I had just days prior rescued Sugar and didn’t have room to take in another.
Fast-forward two months from her abandonment and I decided to go ahead and foster her if Pets4Vetsoftheozarks would sponsor her. Winter was coming and she needed to be inside of a home to learn how to ‘dog’.
We came to understand that her first number of months were spent in a home with eight unsupervised children, who did not treat her well.
She is in a good place, but a forever home is her dream!

This was Sheldon, now Diesel and Sugar, now Blue. They both have found their forever homes and will be heading off this coming weekend.

1st picture: April 4th, the 4th day in my care - 9lbs, 7 weeks, unable to walk, began ‘Puppy Strangles’ treatment.

2nd picture: July 1st after 3 months in my care - 30lbs, 19 weeks. The only remaining indication that he was ill are a few un-healed sores that still need a little attention daily to prevent scaring.

When Diesels dad met him a month ago at Lowe’s he knew that he was one piece of his family that was missing. He filled out the adoption form the second he got to his vehicle in the parking lot!

A few days later he brought his son to visit the rescue because the other missing piece of their family was a cat/kitten. His son went into the room and was able to hang out alone and he made an awesome selection! He selected a cat, Sugar/Blue that’s been around Diesel quite often and they both ‘hang out’ with no issue so we were so very pleased!

This is gonna be a very hard little boy for me to say goodbye to. When a pup is as ill as he was, they imbed themselves deep in your heart.

I do know that with this adoption 4 lives are being saved. I’m going to take a little break before taking on another litter/puppy, but if I know me, it won’t be too long of a break. ❤️.

Sadly, this is just the way it is! I feel that it won’t be long until no kill shelters will be a thing of the past.
Rescues are having to make some difficult choices with their funding, time and space. You have to ask yourself how much $ is too much to save a very sick animal who comes into a rescue for care? We recently had to think about that, but this was after I accepted his relinquishment. We were blessed to have figured out what he had (puppy strangles) immediately or else the cost for his care could have broke our small rescue. We were also blessed that a number of people donated to his care.
He has recovered and will be heading to his new home the beginning of July. I’ve had him since April 1st with the first 2 weeks of his care being round the clock.
For us to rescue funds are needed, fosters are needed, low cost or no cost spay neuter programs or vouchers are needed, supplies are always needed, adopters are needed. The list is never ending.

Pupdate: She is safe. Beth has added a tag for this girl. See comments for more info.

PREGNANT. TRIGGER WARNING. LOSE FAITH IN RESCUE WARNING.
Please keep scrolling if you cannot handle what you’re about to read. 🙏.

This is a plea to RESCUE. See, I don’t normally tag rescues, like no way, I’d be mad if they tagged me. So I’m not tagging anybody.

This post is also for the networkers that will tag me on this dog, probably lose faith in Rescue and probably won’t be able to sleep tomorrow night, and will ask how I will be able to because I cannot take her and no one is going to step up with what we need if I did take her.

I cannot, and will not, stress my staff, the 200 dogs onsite at the rescue now, or our future, by taking on a case that we absolutely cannot afford mentally or financially.

There are also six other healthy adoptable huskies on the euthanasia lists today in three Oklahoma shelters. If I have space for mom and puppies then I have space for six adult dogs instead.
So let’s just go ahead and have the conversation now.
THE ONLY WAY that I could take this girl is if somebody wants to front the 10k that her rescue and her babies will cost as well as somebody that will keep all those babies in their home and find them homes themselves.
Under no circumstances, can I bring this dog to the rescue, so, if no one steps up for her, she will be euthanized tomorrow, and it is not my freaking fault and not only will I reach through Facebook and smack you, demand to know why you didn’t step up, but I will block you from seeing H3 huskies anywhere.

Now that that’s off my chest I hope those that think that I am the savior of all the Huskies will just not go there.

If there is a rescue out there that will take this husky, I’ll pledge 500 to take care of mommies needs.

So there it is. I’m telling you now. I cannot take this dog.
If somebody wants to drop that billion I’ll build a mommy Rescue building on my property and take all the mommies. In the meantime, I’ve already given up $1 million of my own money my family, my home, my time, hell even my marriage and my sanity for these huskies and yes, this is me projecting my future guilt for not taking the dog.

So who’s got $10,000 and 10 weeks plus up to 10 homes for who knows what breed of puppies, because somebody didn’t bother to spay her and give her life she deserves?

UPDATE: the dove is in the hands of a wild life rehabber. She had a puncture wound in her wing and required antibiotics along with some pain medication’s. She will remain in the care of the rehabber until healed then released in her neighborhood.
It looks like I have a bird killer in Sugar. Who would’ve thought that a nearly blind dog could be good at catching birds.
I am currently allowing a pigeon to catch its breath and hopefully will be able to fly so I can set it free tomorrow.

I’m gonna miss these days.
