In 2010, my best friend, Diane Wilson, and I were certified in equine acupressure and started Miami Valley Equine Acupressure. Many of you helped get that business off the ground and helped us succeed. Today is Diane's birthday and I'm reminded again of all our times together, both as friends and fellow practitioners. Diane left us way too soon, but she'll always be with us in spirit. Happy birthday, Diane!

We're seeing some positive results after Peaches had her first acupressure session. She's showing more energy and better mood. Here she is after her second acupressure session. Relaxation helps the body heal. Good job, Peaches!

Peaches loves her mom as you can see from that expression! But she is advancing in years, and a little arthritis is slowing her down. Acupressure can relieve some of the pain and get her back on those walks she enjoys so much. She snoozed through the last half of the session; I believe she liked it!

Getting outside and riding, playing, and otherwise using those muscles, tendons, and ligaments after a few months of inactivity can lead to soreness. Hudson came to his new home from the Heart of Phoenix, a horse rescue based in West Virginia. This organization pairs up with various trainers around the area to prepare horses for adoption. As one of the nation’s most economically challenged regions, this organization created an innovative way to get a large number of horses trained and adopted each year through the Appalachian Trainer Face Off, a training competition that began in 2017. Hudson was part of this event with his trainer working with him for several months; you can follow his story at . He is now in his new home and settling in. Acupressure work is helping with this transition, strengthening his immune system and working energetically to help him trust in his new person and environment. I know he will do well; I'm his new person and am so excited he chose me!

Eamon has some health challenges this year. His care included veterinary treatment and lots of care and attention from his person. Added to that was acupressure to help the medicine do its job. This a great example of how Western and Eastern care work together to bring our animals back to health.
